It is a nice Mazda CX30. I don't know its reliability as yet. They are assembled in Mexico and parts are from Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico. Thanks God they aren't designed and made in China. My experience had proved that my 2012 C250 which manufactured in Africa has a lot of problems.
I test drove this, and i must say for daily long commutes - one of the best recommended to have. That adaptive cruise control helps. Fuel economy does not destroy your wallet right away.
A negative with the info screen, too much black plastic around it. Why didn't they just make it all screen? Then you can make the screen bigger. Kind of a dated design.
Mazdas always seem to be worst in class or close to worst in class regarding rear passenger room. Disappointing. I sat in a 3 in the showroom and could barely fit behind myself, and I'm only 5'10". They build great cars for DINKs though.

drumtwo4seven oh I know you are right, sun is hard on all that plastic. I don’t want that issue to deal with after a few years of ownership. Just more proof that material things are temporary. I’m lucky that my cars are in the garage and I work from home, all my vehicles stay new looking for many years. They don’t get many miles put on them.
I drove a 2023 last week and I got that feeling that there might be an engine buried under that crappy automatic. The automatic makes this a total dog. There was a long lag in the kick down when you get ready to accelerate. It nmakes freeway acceleration risky unless you plan carefully. It was very annoying. 🤮
@@2004cyrus Well, for the record I usually restrict my strong negative comments to the bloated CX-9. In fact, I have a long positive history owning Mazda vehicles. It's true I once had a Mazda 626 whose engine literally exploded 7000 miles after I purchased it new but after the engine was replaced under warranty I drove it another 100K miles without a problem. And I owned an AWD Mazda MPV that probably saved my life when I was able to get it out of a ditch in deep snow on an isolated logging road in the Cascade mountains. I even owned an RX8 with a rotary engine that had to be towed to the dealer each time it flooded when the engine was turned off before it warmed up to have its spark plug replaced. But having learned my lesson I always made sure not to let that happen and driving it was a hoot and a half. I've never owned a Miata but if Mazda built only that vehicle it would justify the existence of the company. As for the CX-30 I just wonder about the strategy of offering vehicles that seem to overlap one another in terms of market categories. There's the Mazda3 hatchback, CX-3, CX-30, and CX-5. All of the CX's in the sub-compact to compact crossover categories. The CX-30 is among the largest of the sub-compact category and the CX-5 the smallest in the compact category. The CX-3 and the CX-30 seem to overlap in term of both size and price. And other than ground clearance the Mazda3 hatch seems to offer what the smaller crossovers offer. Perhaps Mazda knows what they're doing but it looks to me as if they have a set of vehicles that are likely to cannibalize the sales of one another.
Stephen Hendricks I think all of the manufacturers are experimenting with the lately smoking hot crossover market. They’ll see what overlaps and cannibalizes the other as you say and focus on what the consumer is buying in the next 3-5 years and adjust. These companies are slowly become more nimble with their global platforms. That’s the beauty of capitalism- companies of all kinds adjust their product lines to meet consumer demands. Nothing new there. And you are hard on the CX-9 for some reason. You say it’s bloated, have you been in any domestic suvs and crossovers in the last 10 years, those are the definition of bloated. To each his own but I’ve driven many of them since the MPV and I happen to think they are great. But I do love Mazda for the price paid. Do you not find the Toyota Sequoyah or Honda Pilot to be bloated ?
its a great looking vehicle, but i just hate the idea of these very small crossovers. It seems like a scam to me. Trick a young person into buying one, then when they get married and have a kid, they realize its tiny and, oops, now I need a CX5 because why torture yourself with a tiny little vehicle? They get to sell you two cars instead of one. It's a SCAM people! Buy larger than you really need because in a couple years you'll need it.
It's literally a lifted Mazda3 with a wider hatch, cladding to make it look tougher and the cx5 info screen. I don't even think mazda is pretending. Savagegeese points this out (different style and focus equally good) Why mess with a great car. Lift it 6 inches and they sell millions more...because it's a cuv now. Wtf I'll keep my 19 Mazda3 stick 😁
Really dislike touchscreens in cars.. Touchscreens are great for devices like phones and tablets that you hold up to your face and are looking at so you're always looking where you're touching. On a car it's bad design, wrong interface for the situation, no tactile feedback that you've it the right button, so you have to look (eyes off the road). It's just trendy because hey, iPads.
Not competitive! Why on earth would they only offer a sunroof in top of line Premium trim? This is supposed to be a sporty vehicle and a sunroof should be available on all trims but at least starting on the Select trim, which would be more in line with their Touring trims of other models. Sorry, but folks aren't going to pay more than the cost of a Honda CR-V EX and get less. These bone-headed decisions is one of many reasons Mazda continues to struggle in the USA.
Dirk Diggler not everyone wants a sunroof or wants to pay for it. That’s not why Mazda struggles. Their dealer network is small. Mazda is a small company relative to the others
I was looking at the CX 30. Very disappointed the CX 30 lacks sunroof unless you purchase a model with cylinder deactivation-no thanks! Also, lack of fog lights, heated mirrors, and auto dimming mirrors makes this a no-go for me.

Do the side mirrors fold in?
Where are front and back cameras?
I absolutely love Mazda! I can't wait to get a crossover for my wife after I finish school in a couple years
i luv it more
A couple of years?.....she might divorce you by then!!! 😂
It is a nice Mazda CX30. I don't know its reliability as yet. They are assembled in Mexico and parts are from Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico. Thanks God they aren't designed and made in China. My experience had proved that my 2012 C250 which manufactured in Africa has a lot of problems.
acceleration at 21:43
You legend
I'm getting this car for my parents. The Mazda 3 is too low (they have sore backs). This is perfect height
it's not that much higher then oridinary mazda 3. I'm getting one myself.
@@elgoogssie3969 4cm higher in the CX30
Which is better The CX3 or the CX30?? Anyone
I test drove this, and i must say for daily long commutes - one of the best recommended to have. That adaptive cruise control helps. Fuel economy does not destroy your wallet right away.
but servicing can destroy ur wallet
@Ray Rosas ikr. Dude above either has no car or cant get one
LOL
Is that a blue or a grey color on the CX-30? What is the official Mazda name for the color?
Polymetal Gray
@@MattMaranMotoring - Thank you, Sir! Great review.
Thanks!
A negative with the info screen, too much black plastic around it. Why didn't they just make it all screen? Then you can make the screen bigger. Kind of a dated design.
No turbo which is fine, but could probably use 8 speed or dct. But beautiful looking car nonetheless
Well done!
Mazdas always seem to be worst in class or close to worst in class regarding rear passenger room. Disappointing. I sat in a 3 in the showroom and could barely fit behind myself, and I'm only 5'10". They build great cars for DINKs though.
syncro87 the 3 and CX3 are pretty tight, the 6 and CX5 is very roomy though
form over function.
Need to drink more coffee.
Can this thing tow anything?
"Impressed by the power"...first im hearing of that 😂
Mazda continues to make good looking, high quality, cramped, largely underpowered vehicles.
But it's the most powerful in the segment...
True. Hopefully they will stay that way with CX-30.
@@MattMaranMotoring in a segment that power doesn't really matter. It's not much faster than the upgraded kona and almost no buyer in that segment cares. Price is definitely the biggest factor. This isn't much cheaper than a decent equipped cx5
The CX-9 is the only car in their lineup that could arguably be considered underpowered. Every other model they have is right in line with their competitors. Plus they are the only mainstream manufacturer that does not use CVTs.
@@Varekai0723 you may be technically right, but the bar Mazda is setting for themselves almost demands more performance from Mazda3, cx-3. Not sure about the 6 turno as I have never driven it
Does it have auto start-stop ?
OR OR no, no Mazda has auto start stop, thank god.
No but it does have auto cylinder deactivation in some markets (down to 2 cylinders). That is another way of saving fuel.
I'm so glad Mazda has not gone with the touch screen crap. I hope they never do!
They could add some piano black to the dash to mix it up... The same colour everywhere doesn't look good
Ujw Gaming there’s plenty of that crap on the center console
How does acceleration compare with the new mazda 3, mazda cx30, and the previous generation mazda 3?
NOFATCHICK1 he mentioned that
Mazda flew you out? Did they put you up in a hotel too? Very nice, I hope you give the car review a good rating, wink wink.
For 99.9% of all media reviews of any product, the product is provided by the manufacturer. They give us the opportunities, we provide our honest thoughts (or at least I do).
Extra heavy dose of massive exterior black plastic cladding, ... hard not to notice,
Nice jacket.
Simple but Axtive Machine
review a Honda Odyssey
Beautiful car except for Plastic cladding which is burrrkkk
the cure probably good for the snow, keeps the nice paint away from ice blocks, but agreed
Not with those plastic fender
Best and awesome!!!🔥💎
Have to remember all that black plastic trim around the entire car IS GOING TO FADE TO WHITE GREY over time.
drumtwo4seven yea people will have to apply those chemicals that Walmart sells to recondition all that exterior black cladding
@@2004cyrus
Older jeep wrangler (plastic) fenders/bumpers are never black, always whitish grey.
I doubt its as easy as a spritz of armor all along with a quick wipe of a rag.
drumtwo4seven oh I know you are right, sun is hard on all that plastic. I don’t want that issue to deal with after a few years of ownership. Just more proof that material things are temporary. I’m lucky that my cars are in the garage and I work from home, all my vehicles stay new looking for many years. They don’t get many miles put on them.
Little armourall, just like I do to my 15 year old Honda and it looks brand new
I drove a 2023 last week and I got that feeling that there might be an engine buried under that crappy automatic. The automatic makes this a total dog. There was a long lag in the kick down when you get ready to accelerate. It nmakes freeway acceleration risky unless you plan carefully. It was very annoying. 🤮
Beauty
No rear independent suspension. No
Very attractive vehicle. However, I'll stick with my GTI with better driving dynamics, more power, and about 20% more overall cargo space.
Stephen Hendricks there you are Stephen! You don’t miss a review do you? Lol
The CX-3 sucks.
That line will disappear with the appearance of the 30
@@rebsiot The CX-3 is likely to disappear in North America but it's a strong seller and will continue to be offered in international markets.
I love the car and will probably buy one but these guys repeatedly saying how mazda studies human body so much kind of makes me lose trust.
One reason I personally wouldn't buy one of these is that torsion beam axle. Backwards step in my opinion.
YES!😅
its a great looking vehicle, but i just hate the idea of these very small crossovers.
I don't want kids, so I only have to buy one car. Problem solved.
Michael Self No brats? 👨👩👧👦 Maybe you would like a Miata (if you don’t need to haul stuff).
Brian Lear that’s why I bought a Volkswagen Tiguan
People trade cars in all the time. It's not that unusual to upgrade from any previous model that one has outgrown.
should of called it cx-4
Cx4 is totally different car which will be produced for China market excusively based on Cx5 platform
You should HAVE not used "should OF."
hope they dont follow infiniti n volvos naming
Ayman Al-Safadi no they should not have they already have one in China
My mechanic listens to my radio more than I do. People born in the last 30 years own a phone.
Loved your review; slow down just a bit.
You cover much of the topics, but you speak like a tiger chasing you.
inspiration lol I like it most ppl talk so slow I fall asleep
21:42 for those interested for some odd reason
Odd to be interested in a vehicle's acceleration??
Looks like a lifted Mazda 3.
No
it is but the back looks better here
@@mitchellsteindler yes...lol
It's literally a lifted Mazda3 with a wider hatch, cladding to make it look tougher and the cx5 info screen. I don't even think mazda is pretending. Savagegeese points this out (different style and focus equally good)
Why mess with a great car. Lift it 6 inches and they sell millions more...because it's a cuv now. Wtf
I'll keep my 19 Mazda3 stick 😁
I meannnnn that’s what it is

Really dislike touchscreens in cars.. Touchscreens are great for devices like phones and tablets that you hold up to your face and are looking at so you're always looking where you're touching. On a car it's bad design, wrong interface for the situation, no tactile feedback that you've it the right button, so you have to look (eyes off the road). It's just trendy because hey, iPads.
The Mazda3 has bigger dimensions except height
This sure beats donkey riding
I agree. I currently ride a donkey and it's a real jackass.
@@2004cyrus That's fine. However, they could offer a "moon & tunes" package like they used to of other models.
Anyone who buys a Honda is getting less - quality-wise.
I've owned 3 Honda crvs since 2006 , most boring car that barely changes year after year. I took cx30 out for test , hands down way, way, way better in every way than a honda.
Review: 2020 Mazda CX-30
Best looking vehicle in its' class...Say good-bye to the "cladding" and I may purchase one. Mazda went the "cheap" route on this. Too bad. Also go to touch screen as well.
The cladding actually protects the car , more cars should do it.
You do realise that the rest of the world pronounces it a “maz-da”.....not “Marz-da”.
