There are numerous halls having span of more than 30,40 fts So what will happen to safety of these halls in your opinion. Which design principle have fixed such distance of 5m or 7.5m . Our IS code permit every span provided span/depth ratio, deflection criteria is fulfilled.

Hi Sir , Ours is g+2 ,There were 11pillars in ground floor due to plan change in first floor center pillar was removed in first floor plan so distance between two column became 20 feet so builder added beam which now is 20 feet long i am bothered weather it sustain load

Depth of the 'beam' between the columns will increase on increasing the column to column distance. Dimensions of the column will also increase
Some cases especially for airport and auditorium...etc. span between two columns are considering 12 meters
Depth of column is different from cross section of column.Proper use of terminology is very important in videos being watched by general public.
U should use term width of coloumn supporting longer axis beam

Is there maximum or minimum distance between RCC? I think there is no limit for that, that is why engineers exist.
The column section to clear span will have ratio or proportion which is told but formula not explained
It's possible to lay down a RCC slab between two bricks walls (no columns) wide 17feet

What do you mean by the depth of the column? Is it the depth of the part of the column dug under the ground surface? Or, the width of the column?
