From 1961-1966, Wilson-Love credits were almost as frequent among early-60s hits as Goffin-King and Lennon-McCartney. Brian almost always needed a lyricist: Mike Love, Tony Asher, Van Dyke Parks, and others. Brian contributed ideas, but the partner did the main writing. Mike Love considered Tony Asher's lyrics for Good Vibrations mediocre (and they were), and wrote his own, which have stood the test of time.
What touches my heart more than anything in this video is seeing Carnie Wilson, standing next to Brian, just full if so much pride for her father. It touches me deeply.
We have been blessed with several geniuses from the 60's 'til around 1990. Along with Brian, you have Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Sting for equally massive number of great songs.

Saw them summer of ‘64 with Sam the Sham and the Pharohs. Juniors in H. School. Bud’s dad was a big wig at GM and me and Bud went to show in a ‘64 gold Sting Ray. We had our gray and white striped shirts on with white Levi’s and black loafers no socks. The BBoys did not disappoint… man what a mighty time!! Amazing show…

I loved how Elton was dancing. He was dancing like an old man at a village hall whilst listening to all of the classics on a record player. At 5:12 it was almost like Carl came back as Justyn looks so much like him.
I was very fortunate to have my daughter with me in the front row center seats for this concert. We were actually in the front seats of the orchestra pit as all of the music was onstage. I had on a burgundy shirt. Incredible, historic night with Carly Simon, David Crosby, Daurius Rucker, and so many other guests for Brian Wilson.
I saw Brian in his first concert back after the long time away from performing at the St. Charles Cultural center. He was still fragile and nervous but Thank Goodness he couldn’t be held back.

My dad introduced me to The Beach Boys. He grew up in the same neighborhood as they did He died young. Now whenever I hear them I think of him and smile.

RIP Carl & Dennis, the Wilson boys had a rough time with their father growing up in SoCal. His mental & physical abuse damaged all the boys.
