One tip that I want to share is that, choose fabrics according to the next 4-6 months from your wedding. My wedding was in March and I shopped for it in January and in excitement got silk, brocade etc suits and was unable to wear them.
Prerna didi letting nilam mam take over the whole thing , not interrupting, being respectful is the best mom daughter relationship goals....love you mummy ji
I got married in 2020 and I can’t believe my wedding shopping had all these items. All were my mom’s suggestions. This is what I kept in my wedding trousseau- 2 of my mom’s Banarasi silk sarees (from her own wedding’s collection) 2 heavy silk sarees 2 plain silk sarees 1 Multi coloured heavy silk saree 1 red gharchola saree 2 organza sarees 1 stone work saree 3 DIY suit sets 3 4 dupattas of basic colours like red, golden , magenta and off white 1 DIY crop top n silk skirt and dupatta ☺️☺️☺️☺️
I suddenly got an idea and thought of sharing it with you. Me being an Assamese, we've our own traditional dress called mekhela chadar, and I'd love to see you wearing one and styling it. And ig that even ladies from other traditions too would love to see you in their respective traditional clothes. Why don't you do a series of styling various traditional pieces from across the country? Anyways sending love! ♥️
Prerna, Baluchari sharee is a gem of Bengal, woven mainly in Vishnupur. Recently we visited Vishnupur and was overwhelmed by all the beautiful Baluchari and Swarnachari sharees. I have planned to buy a Swarnachari for my wedding and a Baluchari for my mom. Feeling pround that you wore one of our prides.
I got married very recently and my pro tip would be to buy your wedding outfits with an annual approach and not just season based! (I got married last year in December but I included clothes of versatile materials) Helps to use them throughout the year! Another thing please DO NOT go for very fancy schmancy blouses with your heavy silk sarees as they already have a weight to it’s pallu and then managing it with backless etc blouses is a headache (been there done that 😅) Simplicity is best in such cases! If possible communicate with your in laws/relatives so that you don’t have a collection of the same colour (No two suits/sarees in my collection are of the same shade) If you’re planning to have an elaborate trousseau. It’s better to carry a few pieces unstitched because more often than not due to bulk stitching your outfit styles may turn out similar and/or your measurements might fluctuate.
I completely relate to this. My father has a transfer job so my mom has been collecting sarees from different places. I had sarees from gujarat(bandhani), Chennai(silk), bihar (madhubani), Uttar Pradesh (multiple types), coimbatore(kolai Cora cotton) and most of these sarees were wearable routinely so I wore for a week continuously. My in-laws also gave beautiful sarees with light to heavy collection and I have worn most of them as well. And wherever I go in India I always like to buy saree from that place. Loved your video.
Currently there are very few people who guide us regarding sarees but it is such an elegant piece of clothing! Thanks to you for your efforts to guide us 😊🖤
Prerna , It was such a delight to watch the happiness, innocence in your eyes and the cute nodding when Auntyji spoke :) It just reminded of all of us as daughters on being so proud to watch our Mom's guide through anything in life :) . Great tips .
Prerna... Your mom is simply amazing... Kitna accha batati hai aunty.... Aur unke tips toh aur bhi badhiya... Loved the silk saree... I am a die-hard fan of Nalli silk and kanchipuram silk sarees... Keep rocking ...and do keep us posted with Aunty's amazing tips...

Aunty ne overtake kar liya video. I loved it par Prerna aap akele bhi is topic pe ek video banaana. I guess it's only about you being a professional content creator. Your thoughts and the way you share them are a lot more streamlined and well structured. This was fun because aisa lag raha tha koi apni mummy, maasi type tips de Rahi hon. Lots of love to both of you! ❤️❤️
It was nice watching it .I remember myself ,who was just 24 and was able to make a wedding troussoe which lasted for almost ten years 😊I use to buy only footwear as my preparation for any party or wedding , .after that I started buying some more sarees in my collection.i really feel bad when girls shop endlessly for their wedding and then dump everything within a year
