I think size is much less of a concern than weight nowadays. I would have happily purchased a bigger laptop if not for the added weight as size isn't really a concern since there are plenty of backpacks and laptops bags that can carry bigger laptops. With weight every ounce/gram added to your bag matters because they add up quickly.

This is so true. Instead of revolutionize the zephyrus lineup which is actually created for those who want to game but also need to travel a lot, they should just maintain and upgrading the flow series which are aimed towards creator who wants to game. I personally will like it to be honest if they create zephyrus M16 and G16 to be similar to zephyrus s17 2021 or zenbook 16x oled. That laptop is great in thermals and performance. I couldn't justify replacing a laptop that wasn't broken. Eventually what triggered the replacement was both the wired network port and the WiFi physical switch had stopped working, so no internet access. Sony make those things bullet proof.
The urge was there to replace it, the budget wasn't. I had to save a lot for my current one, and I'll keep it a long time as the money isn't there to replace it frequently. It's also the reason I went for the M16. I expected the LCD screen to last longer than the OLED screen on other models.

i'd love to hear some thoughts about docking, so, if im spending upwards of 3k on a high-end laptop, yes I want it to feel premium and have nice display and all that, but spending that ammount of money I want that to be my main system, so that means it's probably gonna get docked ,
could you share some experiences on that end? like get a nice dock, and a nice monitor, and see how the laptop behaves when docked, (does gysync work while docked?) you know? stuff like that.

I think that with these laptops its as follows. If you're debating between the two, you'll go for the G14 and live with the small setbacks from choosing the smaller one. You're getting the G16 if you prefer bigger laptops.

Just picked up last years G16 and having tried damn near everything its fantastic, the i7 and 4060 are plenty and it runs like a dream, and around 75c under load. My G14 was hot, my HP Omen Transcend with an i9 and 4070 I liked but it was literally louder than a car for almost any work you were doing and the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 14.5" was nice and loved that OLED Screen but I prefer this 16. This chassis is great, the touchpad is better than most Windows rigs, the keyboard is quiet, the screen is solid, the speakers are ok and performance is great. All at a price about half the price of the 2024s. I'll happily go to the new Zephyrus design when the time comes. For now I'm really enjoying it and I'm pickier than hell!

Something important I realized when I saw them in person is that the pixels per inch on the G14 is way higher than the G16. The resolution is a little bit higher and the screen is smaller, so the density is higher. If your main work involves looking at text, like mine does, the extra ppi can make a big difference to readability and comfort.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:13 *💼 The ASUS Zephyrus G14 is more portable and lighter, making it a better choice for those prioritizing mobility.*
00:25 *🚀 For higher-end GPU options (RTX 4080 or 4090), the G16 is the only choice; the G14 offers the RTX 4070 at a similar price point but with more RAM.*
01:06 *🧱 RAM is soldered onto the motherboard, making future upgrades impossible and making a higher initial RAM capacity (32GB) more desirable.*
02:00 *🔌 Port selection is mostly identical between models, with a notable difference in USB standards due to the processor type and the presence of a full-size SD card slot on the G16 versus a micro SD on the G14.*
03:36 *🎨 Color choice affects price differently for each model, with the white G16 costing $200 more and the white G14 being slightly cheaper than its black counterpart.*
04:16 *⌨️ The G16 offers more wrist room for typing, though the keyboard feel and travel distance are the same for both models.*
05:12 *🎵 Both laptops feature six speakers with impressive sound quality, adding value to the multimedia experience.*
05:54 *🖥️ The G16 has a larger and higher refresh rate display (240Hz) compared to the G14 (120Hz), making it more suitable for gaming.*
07:15 *💻 Performance comparison is complex due to different configurations, with the G16 model discussed having a more powerful GPU and CPU but similar RAM speeds.*
10:32 *🔧 Most components are soldered onto the motherboard, limiting repairability and upgrades, except for the Wi-Fi card.*
11:28 *🎮 The choice between the G14 and G16 depends on user needs, with the G16 being preferable for those prioritizing gaming and video creation on a larger display, and the G14 being more suited for frequent travelers seeking portability without sacrificing performance.*
