One for work because of a very good performance and accu longevity, and the other for gaming, but when you unplug it the accu is empty in like 30 minutes of gaming
And the asus ROG laptop from my freind with a 3050 in it also runs out of battery after like an hour, and with very low settings it may stand for 2 hours with a 15 minute loading time after an hour. Gaming Laptops are for nothing in my opinion. Battery gets worse so fast because of the Wattage the gpu uses. And they are quite expensive for the performance
A more fair comparison would be against the m3 pro 14, price wise at least. You should also spend some time looking at the workarounds for gaming on MacOS, like GPTK, in order to do head to head gaming comparisons

This could've been the best comparison video to test and compare video editing / 3D work apps since Mac's can't game and you can't compare apples to apples here (pun intended). Therefore, comparing Premiere / Davinci / After Effects / Photoshoo or Lightroom / Blender is a great way to compare these two platforms hardware and software wise...
@@crimsontechyt tnx for sharing, man. What makes your videos top is that you go down to the nitty gritty details. You compare and review things in a smart way, not missing most features. For example the size of the power brick and total weight with laptop. These are the "gray" areas where no one talks about. I think if you start reviewing also video editing apps [premiere is more CPU centered, Davinci is GPU centered, After Effects is more single core centered]- then you can differentiate your channel even more, as no one talks about those things, and there are MANY 'content creators' out there. No one addresses them.
Thank you for the amazing review, I loved it :D but do you think Mac would be a good competitive in the gaming section if we consider cloud gaming ? something like Geforce now or xBox cloud ? can you please do this comparison :D compare cloud gaming on mac vs local gaming on G14
Thank you! Hmmm it's VERY dependant on if your internet connection is good. The Mac can play games through the cloud easily, no problem. But if you have slightly higher ping or download speed, the input delay and image clarity might make it a bit unplayable... :( But it's definitely possible!
@ehtasam2080if you are comparing gaming performance of a MacBook to a 4090 laptop, you aren’t getting the point of the MacBook. I also have an m3 max mbp, and it’s selling point is it’s portable, efficient nature. I would like to see 4090 unplugged and performing at the same level as when it was plugged in (sure it’ll be faster, but MacBooks don’t have to care about losing any performance). MacBooks are workflow machines, not for gaming. I know that I will last hours longer than a 4090 laptop which as a college student, I need. I can’t be plugged in all the time. If I wanna game, I can use my 4090 pc.
@ehtasam2080 yeah and I know for a fact, that the cpu speed of the ultra 9 is vastly slower than the m3 max. You are also not taking into account that the m3 max is rendering everything on a 4k screen compared to 1440p on the legion. If you want to game, don’t get a MacBook. No one ever got a MacBook because they wanted to game on it. That is not what it’s for.
@@nitinkrishnaswamy5825yeah lol. How is bro comparing a dedicated gpu to integrated graphics. Especially in a MacBook. Bro thought he was spitting. I have had many gaming laptops and built pcs too. Ofc gaming is better with a 4090. Apple never said it wasn’t going to be. But for stuff like ai processing, m3 max is superior due to its unified memory. Only comparing with gaming is beyond stupid
@ehtasam2080 What about sound, isn’t the quality and volume 2x on Mac. What about screen quality, aren’t there 2x the pixels on Mac. What about sound, isn’t it 2x louder with legion. What about weight and size, isn’t it 3x heavier with legion. What about build quality, isn’t it 2x better on Mac. What about cpu, isn’t m3 max rated as the best laptop cpu on most ranking sites (nano reviews, etc). What about heat, isn’t the legion 2x hotter than Mac? What about battery, isn’t the Mac’s 5x longer than legion?
@ehtasam2080 1600p is the same thing as 1440p. It just means that rather than a 16:9 aspect ratio, it is 16:10. No difference in pixel density or quality. So difference is large. Macbook pro 16s have close to 8 million pixels in their screen. 4k screens have a little over 8 million. That is close enough to be roughly estimated to 4k. Secondly, copilot+ does not mean anything. One of the features "recall" is universally hated bc of privacy concerns and was recalled before launch because of that too. M3 max is also an old thing and light laptop chip. The new one is coming out in a month. Also, even compared to 14900hx, its considered better. Maybe not for pure speed, but its ability to use its power effectively (single core is superior). You also addressed none of the other points my guy.
Sold my MacBook Air M3 a few weeks ago , 8gbs in 2024 are garbage couldn’t keep up with my workflow, while the M3 is nice has many limitations, now I’m searching for my next laptop and most likely will be an Asus not this model but something that I can fully upgrade for many years.
Different use cases entirely, if your doing conent creation (video editing, music production) get a macbook, especially if you want the same power on battery.
For productivity …. No way. Bought a zephyrus 4070 with 32 gb of ram and tested against my MacBook m3pro 1tb. In every aspect of rendering video and using software form adobe the silicon m3pro processor was the best one with no discussion. Gaming is another story
Very true. I did mention in the video that if an app is supported on MacOS, it'll probably be faster on the Macbook. Many productivity apps have been supported since the switch to Apple Silicon, so they run amazingly well :)
Im so happy to see a macbook vs zephyrus than dell overpriced xps vs macbook, only critic is that was better compare m3 pro macbook pro 14, but other than that top video

I just need another OLED 1440p monitor (I have one that is QD-OLED Gloss and 360hz) to get rid of all my LCD monitors and make the full switch. I still use a 1440p 270hz monitor that is IPS but that’s it, my laptop is OLED, phone (obv), TV. Won’t ever go back to LCD
I am confused between the G16 and the G14. I want something easy to carry to university, but at the same time I want a large screen so I can play comfortably. The question is, if I take the G16, will it be difficult to carry it to university every day? And if I take the G14, will I hate it because of its small screen when I play video games? Decide for me because it tires me out.
HAHA that's the dilemma that everyone has everyday :D The G16 is VERY light for a 16-inch laptop (especially a gaming laptop), so the weight really isn't an issue. If you want a bigger display, go for the G16. Some people think 14 inch is fine, some people want something bigger. You really have to find that out yourself unfortunately D: I prefer compacter form factors, since they're easier to hold :)
@Abdoalhinai-iz7wc It really depends on which games you play. For competitive play, or games where your target might be far away, 14 inches might be too small. But if you only play games casually, or once in a while, 14 inches is perfectly fine.
If you're carrying it around university, I'd go for the g14, you can fit it in smaller backpacks and you won't really be hardcore gaming at university anyway (you're there to study, not play all day). If the screen size bothers you when you're at home, you can always plug it into an external monitor or TV for a bigger screen. But I don't think it'll be as bad as you're thinking it will be anyway.
ayy a fellow deathadder v3 pro user! nice mouse but the sleep mode still has a somewhat slow wake up problem... edit: ngl, nvr thought retina displays were ips panel, shocked that it looks almost as good as oled
Ayyy :D Love it to death, but I wish they made the buttons the same as the wired version... The sleep-wake is the same as other wireless mice, so i don't really have issues with that :o
it looks like youre dutch judging by your system language shown in a frame of the video, why are u showing US prices? if ur from EU, might aswell show EU prices since the difference between US and EU prices on these laptops are HUGE
Most of my viewers are from outside the EU, so those prices are more relevant. EU prices are so crazy, they can't be used as a base for anywhere else 😭
the 15'' m3 air cost around $900 with that conf 8gb-256gb, and the g14 couse the 2ble,, the fair comparison is between the m3 14inch pro and the g14.... Screens, ram, performance, all change
Fair point hehe But it's just a lot faster and easier to do things on Windows natively, compared to having to find workarounds to make things work on a Macbook
I think the comparison is valid based on pricing. I was in the market 2 years ago choosing between the M2 Macbook Pro vs the Asus Zephyrus G14. For the same specs (512gb SSD, 16gb RAM) the cost of the Macbook Pro was almost doubled ($2699!) vs the G14 ($1399). The decision was easy! Plus the G14 has outstanding battery life for a windows machine, probably one of the best!
these are not really in the same class of machines tbf, the asus is basically double the price in the uk, and over 50% thicker, should have compared with the mbp 14
Some do! The G14 is one of the better ones, but the Microsoft Surface laptops have almost the exact same trackpads as on Macbooks, using vibration instead of diving board ones. And that one feels AMAZING.

But it's definitely possible!
Thank you for your video! It was amazing! :D
Thank you! :)
M3 max (16 inch) vs G16 next ? 👀
It helped a lot. I will buy The ASUS but I am waiting for 50 serie gpus
What do you think is the better option for video editing?
Really depends on which program. But for most apps, the RTX 4070 will be faster than the iGPU of the Macbook.
windows laptop trackpads could also be used without clicking like a macbook. albeit with no click response
amazing video, I've learned so much things with fun :)
Thank you! :D
snagged a g14 at that $1099 price... haven't looked back once. even prefer it over my old mbp 16
Same here 👌🏻
thats a steal lol!
Great video! But I would also love to see you compare the G14 to the TUF A14
That's coming up, after the predator 14 :)
Is the macbook pro better than the air? Can u do a comparison between does laptops
Consider the 2023 model of the Asus G14, you can upgrade the RAM, storage, wifi card
@@MyronZhao actually I’m about to buy an M16 from 2023 it’s amazing
@@Deadsoul-wo4of even better!
Why didnt you buy 16gb then? or the m3 pro for a bigger ssd, better chip, screen, speakers, cooling and 18gb of ram?
Who is the periodically dancing man😂
He's just vibing :)
Different use cases entirely, if your doing conent creation (video editing, music production) get a macbook, especially if you want the same power on battery.
damn I think I'm going to take back my MacBook Air and go for the g14 rex 4070 zephyrus! thing has way more on the inside for gaming.
How'd you get the transparent taskbar in Windows?
It's a Microsoft Store app called TranslucentTB
@crimsontechyt Thanks for replying. I wondered if it was a native support from Microsoft.
If you could also please do a Legion Pro 5i Gen 9 and Zephyrus g14 comparison that would be awesome since they almost have similar price point
Can you compare the g14 with the proart px13 please thanks 😊
Planning to do that soon :)
It's very similar to the Flow X13 though, which I already did a review on!
Amazing video!
Btw what music did you use at 12:45?
Suggestion for improvement: If you compare the two devices gaming technically, you should test a game that runs on both devices.
Im so happy to see a macbook vs zephyrus than dell overpriced xps vs macbook, only critic is that was better compare m3 pro macbook pro 14, but other than that top video
I didnt do some research for macbook but i thought macbook is also use liquid retina xdr oled like iphone and ipad
Unfortunately not 🥲
Hi!
Just a quick question, what about serato dj lite?
On which laptop does it work better?)
Bro, how long battery lives on zephyrus while doing light montage? And does it get warm if it stays on my knees?
yea, quite warm
since its a gaming laptop
Will you test the matebook x pro and surface laptop?
sub for, "if something breaks, cry about it". cracked me up lol. and like for all the 'offertes'. like, hoeveel offertes heb je nodig maatje XD Hele gele goeie video man.
Hahaha thanks man! :D
2:03 isn't M3 1.24 kg?
This is the 15 inch model, it's a bit heavier :)
Oh I see 😀
I just need another OLED 1440p monitor (I have one that is QD-OLED Gloss and 360hz) to get rid of all my LCD monitors and make the full switch. I still use a 1440p 270hz monitor that is IPS but that’s it, my laptop is OLED, phone (obv), TV. Won’t ever go back to LCD
Same here, as soon as OLED monitors get a bit cheaper, I'll have done the full transition haha
HAHA that's the dilemma that everyone has everyday :D
The G16 is VERY light for a 16-inch laptop (especially a gaming laptop), so the weight really isn't an issue.
If you want a bigger display, go for the G16. Some people think 14 inch is fine, some people want something bigger.
You really have to find that out yourself unfortunately D:
I prefer compacter form factors, since they're easier to hold :)
@@crimsontechyt From your experience, do you think that the G14 screen is suitable for playing for long hours?
Ayyy :D
Love it to death, but I wish they made the buttons the same as the wired version...
The sleep-wake is the same as other wireless mice, so i don't really have issues with that :o
Would you mind making a comparison between g16 with amd ( with fully optimized ghelper tho) and macbook pro 16 to see if window laptop now change alot
tech student here(comsci)
i bring 2 laptops every day lol
that's why i don't have a problem in my life
it looks like youre dutch judging by your system language shown in a frame of the video, why are u showing US prices? if ur from EU, might aswell show EU prices since the difference between US and EU prices on these laptops are HUGE
Most of my viewers are from outside the EU, so those prices are more relevant. EU prices are so crazy, they can't be used as a base for anywhere else 😭
coolest vid ever i seen
Thank you! :)
the 15'' m3 air cost around $900 with that conf 8gb-256gb, and the g14 couse the 2ble,, the fair comparison is between the m3 14inch pro and the g14.... Screens, ram, performance, all change
16:08 "you are a tech student" what problems did you face, that could not be solved by a VM? 😅
Fair point hehe
But it's just a lot faster and easier to do things on Windows natively, compared to having to find workarounds to make things work on a Macbook
Perfectly said, awesome choice! :D
these are not really in the same class of machines tbf, the asus is basically double the price in the uk, and over 50% thicker, should have compared with the mbp 14
Prices vary a LOT in different regions, so it might be different depending on where you live.
in my country Malaysia the G14 costs almost 50% more than the M3 MBA 16gb 512gb
Please make a video on the new G16 with the Ryzen AI 9 series processor! & Compare it with the intel G16 if possible
i thought the direct competitor against the g14 was the macbook pro 14
In dimensions yes, but not in price point :)
@@crimsontechyt i thought u could compare the g14 with 4070 with the m3 pro macbook pro 14 for $2000. or is the apple tax that much stronger in europe
@@anotherKairos Yeahh it's a lot worse here in Europe 🥲
2549€ for the CHEAPEST M3 Pro laptop (2830$ USD)
wait I thought mac supposed to be black black at night?
No this is the midnight blue color
I wish windows laptops had actually good trackpad
Some do! The G14 is one of the better ones, but the Microsoft Surface laptops have almost the exact same trackpads as on Macbooks, using vibration instead of diving board ones. And that one feels AMAZING.
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A VIDEO COMPARING THESE TWO FOR SO LONG AND FINALLY HERE IT IS!!! FR though this is an incredibly well put together video. Everything is covered and in great detail. I found it very entertaining as well, even with just the text. I just found myself smiling like an idiot and enjoying the video lol! thank you so much Crimson Tech! I'm a new subscriber and fan of the channel!!! :)
HAHA thank you so much, that's very nice :D
I'm glad you liked it!
Hey I'm getting hp omen transcend 14 4050 for a gift is it good?
That depends on the price :)
The G14 is better, but it **could** be a lot more expensive.
@crimsontechyt I know that the g14 is better in gaming but my usage is for college and light gaming
that 4050 transcend was for 1200 $us so is it good?
1tb
16ram
Wifi 7
@@ziad12w74 Yeah, that's a pretty okay price!
@@crimsontechyt thanks , and fr ur reviews are the best🫶
Do this review again but remove army crate and install g-helper set you set your CPU in balanced mode to be 18w all around and disable CPU boost turn off window privacy settings and set defender to scan only when idel for 30min to 1 hr you'll get 5 hours more battery life just about the same gaming performance
It already has G-Helper installed, and I used a custom undervolted Silent profile :)
why mbp air compare rog?
Off topic, but you have nice hands. 🤔
any plans to get in the G16 amd in? I feel like it combines together the best bits on the g14 and g16 (intel), i think you may like it
I do plan to get it, but a couple of other laptops are higher in priority on my list rn :)
@@crimsontechyt oh wow, well would be cool to see regardless which u review next
why don't you compare to a macbook pro 14? that is a fair comparison, not a macbook air
Mainly because the cheapest Macbook Pro is a lot more expensive than the Zephyrus
@@crimsontechyt most expensive zeohyrus is definitely in the macbook pro 14 range. Especially if we consider the base 14 macbook pro which is quite cheap starting at 1599. In terms of size and weight, for sure the macbook pro is the real competitor
