Hi, I was a breeder of Chinese Shar Pei for many years, so thought I'd offer you a little new pup advice. The puppies have to stay above 90°, or you will run the risk of losing them. If you really want her in the whelping box, move it closer to the place shes laying, and take the straw shes been laying in, and put it in the box... the box doesnt look like it has enough. If you want her to stay in the box, put a gate over the opening, that latches... I would also put blankets over the box to make it warmer... if you're going to leave her where she is, I'd hang a blanket over the fence, and tack it up on the other wall, like a roof, to keep in the warmth. Put a couple hay bales to cover the end behind her. The other thing is, she will not be hungry enough to leave her babies for a couple days... she just ate 10 placentas... natures way of giving the Mom nurishment, so they dont have to leave the den for a couple days... if you want to feed her, give her warm food, with warm water in it, and take it over to her, so she can eat it without getting up. Since she has 10 pups, and only 8 teets, you are going to have to watch them. If you see any looking smaller, or weaker, you may have to take the bigger pups out for an hour or two, and let the little ones nurse, or just them in 2 groups regularly... it will take her some time in between feedings to build up more milk, so, leave a space of abt at least hour or 2 before you put the 2nd group on her... The easiest way to do that, is tie a little piec of colored yarn on each pup, either 2 colors for the groups, or a diff color for each pup. If she doesnt have enough milk, you will have to supplement with bottles... looks like you have some nice pups, there... good luck to you all!
But the breed of dog you raised is not the same breed that they have these dogs live outside their livestock guardian dogs, and on a different site this families, livestock guardian dog, has puppies, and the puppies are outside because the mama won’t leave them in as long as the puppies are chubby, which they look like they are I think everything will be fine and I know about breeding animals too, because I bread English mastiffs
21:00 the goats knew she was getting ready that's why they were staying so close . The MoMA goats knew she was in a vulnerable state so they were standing guard for her this time . Livestock will do that to their protector dogs they will return the favor you could say
Leave the puppies where she has them. You keep messing with them and she will move them out of the barn. She is a great Mama. She'll be fine. Feed her puppy food. It will give her the extra vitamins and minerals she needs.
GOOD Advice....leave her and her puppies alone, where they are for now. Not worth the chance of her going outdoors to do her business, and then coming back in to hide her pups from you. She trusts you competely so don't betray that trust by moving her precious babies!!!
When I saw the first image of the scene with all the animals, it reminded me of the manger in Bethlehem, before Mary and Joseph arrived on Christmas eve.
What a great parents you are I was worried at first because it was so cold. Thank you for giving her a heat lamp turn it on as you can for her and the puppies.
I worked in labor and Delivery at a nearby hospital for 3 years while I was in college and the women did more than growl at the father of the child. What language, oh my! According to a UT channel that did a video about dogs an what to expect they said that puppies have a sensor in the tip of their nose that guides them to the mother's teats. First time I had heard that.
When I was little, I shared a full size bed with my twin sister. In the middle of the night, our German shepherd had her litter of puppies on our bed, while we slept!!! That was quite an education at around 6 years old, and something I remember clearly to this day, when I'm 61!!!
lol my friends frenchie had her pups in her bed! Just right next to her, when she realized what was happening she was thrilled! Just grabbed her some towels and gave her snuggles throughout the process
@@LilMissy9315it's fun watching first time moms Hershey was hilarious with her first pup got finished pushing her out and she wasn't to sure what just happened and had that that came out of me? look and then the pup made a sound and her ears perked still not sure what to do with that squirming bundle mom picked the pup up and showed Hershey want to do Hershey got the idea when the third pup was born on what to do 😂
Really cute and healthy looking puppies! I was very touched with how the black dog was trying to get those goats away from her while she was in labor, very smart dog he even put himself between those black goats and the box. Please don’t move the puppies anymore but try to block them in that area she could hurt the puppies trying to move them. She won’t stay in the box because she does not feel safe in the box she feels trapped in there with the goats and other dogs she’s very upset. I hope you keep the other animals out of her space. I think it’s important to handle the pups check them daily to make sure one is not losing weight the smaller ones sometimes can’t fight the bigger ones for meals if you see this you might have to make sure the runt gets to nurse. She needs to extra meals now she is nursing it’s taking a lot out of her body she should get three small meals a day for now being a large breed she could get bloat so feeding at least 2 x a day. Organ meat is good for her as an add on to her meals we used to cook chicken livers, hearts and add to kibble and the eggs are good. Remember she is just like a human with a new baby you want quiet peaceful environment.
I know it's another comment, but it's funny that she was comfortable in the whelping box when the goats were there. When you removed them is when she got anxious and wanted to leave it. She's such a good dog wanting to watch over the goats while in labor.
Oh that poor dog...only women can imagine what she's going through right now...the pain is almost UNBEARABLE like you wld rather DIE but oh the joy when you see your babies and the pain is gone❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've seen other guardian dogs with "midwife" ffrom their flocks to help keep puppies safe and in some cases warm. Seen puppies once up and about nursing off mommas from the flock too.
I love how the goats and kids are determined to sleep beside and keep chores company. .... Even after you kicked them out lol and then she moved and had her babies on back side of the goat pens. I think Cora and the goats had an understanding.❤
This reminds me of the birth of baby Jesus! The goats and Leeski knew something wonderful was going to happen and then Cora gave birth to 10 beautiful pups with her goat family around her!! So precious. So special!!
Most times they don't suckle till all are born. That way she won't harm any trying to get a comfortable position. She needs to clean them too before they eat. Make sure everyone gets enough milk. Mom can have more pups than teets but they do take turns. Just keep an eye on them. I raised beagles 13 years
She knows what’s best! She will do what works for her. Just monitor. Leave them where she wants them. Only causes her stress if you do what she doesn’t want. ❤. They’re beautiful.
The reason she might not want her puppies in the box is because she still wants to guard her livestock. So the box might not be ideal for a livestock dog. She just wants to have her puppies close but also wants to be able to do her other job also.
I was thinking along those lines too. She can't see out around her as well while in the box, not only the herd, but for protection for herself & the babies as well. It's hard to know, but it isn't hard to understand she wants them where she wants them! She trusts you, Kevin, 100%, & she seems to call you to check on her when she know you're near. Even with moving the babies, she never got upset with you touching her puppies. Thanks for sharing this experience with all of us.❤
great point. Just because she had 10 babies doesn't mean she is off duty as a guardian dog. WOW seriously aren't mom's amazing in all forms. But specially farm mom's - their job and day is never done.

As for the colors of the puppies remember they are not only combo of Cora & Leeske they are also part of Cora & Leeske parents. Also their colors may change as they get older. - also remember they all must be vaccinated & weened & on food before you sell them. God Bless. Thank again for making all of us part of your family
Oh my gooosh! I dk why people can't leave animals alone?? She was trying to get away from people, the lights, the noise and the heaters. Let her have them where she wants to. She probably got hot. She will keep those puppies warm but giving birth is hard work. If dogs aren't comfortable they can stop the process and thats probably why she waited to have the second one. I know its wonderful to be there and see the miracle but.... just give her some space.
I had a cat who was actually smart no matter the amount of kittens she always paused like a few hours after the others before delivering the last kitten which was good cause gave her time to rest
Why so rude about it? It’s their first time dealing with this, so he probably didn’t know it was best to leave them alone.. Some animals want and need the help of their owners, it depends on the animal. I’m just saying you can give someone advice without being so rude!! These people are amazing animal owners doing the very best they can, and they’re doing a very good job! Cut them some slack! Plus he said where she had them laying isn’t a very good spot for them to be in, so he was trying to keep them safe and warm, along with the momma dog. People kill me because I’m sure you would never be this direct to their faces, so no don’t be so rude. That’s all! Have a blessed day!!
Leeski placed himself between Kora and the goats as the first pup was coming - what a smart boy! I had an elkhound that had ten pups, we had to bottle feed to supplement poor momma's milk. As they grew, we had a basement full of pups.
Wow!!! Congratulations on 10 Puppies!!! That is Great she had no problems!!!! Let her decide where they stay!!! If not she may try to hide them from you!!! God Bless Us All!!!
Did she really have Ten puppies,That was my quess, Ten, but, I heard Kevin, say nine puppies. Oh yea Kevin, just said Ten Puppies, I'm so Happy they are all doing so well. Thank you Father God, I mess up on the time , but I got the litter number right. They our so cute!!!.
I don't get to watch your videos often.bad net..but today I saw Kora as a puppy. Then a full grown dog..and now a proud moma..crazy. wonderful..got your hands full now
Those goats are doing their job now😊 and protecting their guardian dog at all cost 😊 barn animals will do that Someone gave good advice about keeping mom and pups warm in one of these comments!!
Just draft proof the area she chose to keep her pups in. I see light coming in the crack behind her on the right. I wouldn’t stress her trying to move them again. The louder the pups are, the closer to them she will stay. If she gets up to use the potty they will scream for her when they get cold. Nature’s way. Ours are Great Pyrenees, our heart breed. Please keep us updated on the herd of dogs! ❤ From the mountains of Virginia. ❤
She did a great job. Just respect her space at least for the first few weeks. She knows how to care for her babies. The Lord gave her everything she needs. If having the goats near makes her comfortable leave it. It didn't look like it was bothering her. As far as a runt. No worries there. My vet couldn't believe that the runt ended up much bigger than her mother. 😂 She was born without a tail. Mom didn't want anything to do with her. I took her from her bag, cleaned her, and got her breathing. I kept her, and 13 1/2yrs later I laid down next to her while she took her last. If you need a name, hers was Grace. We called her Gracie. She was a beautiful girl.
Only thing is cute is when puppies fight over the milking spot they would kick each other and the mother would just lick them I had a mother dog that did that before even growled at the puppies to stop fighting..
Yes respecting her space is top priority. Her whole body language facing away from everyone says leave me alone! Animals know what to do they don’t need humans moving their new babies!
Maybe I am behind, when it comes to dogs eating raw eggs. I had not seen that before. A cooked egg maybe, boiled egg perhaps. I am surprised that there were no blankets, or towels put on top of the hay. Thank God the puppies are doing alright and Cora, Mama is well too. Thank you for your video of your dog Cora, her having her puppies. That is a blessing. The other animals are nice to watch too. 🙏😊❤
You can add some puppy food to her meals as well, she needs it for that big gang❤❤❤
Thank you all for patiently waiting! We're getting so excited to share this with our beloved HHF Family.
Yes I can’t wait 😝

Excellent advice. I was thinking about the blanket too. Maybe one on the straw too and change it daily to keep bacteria down.

You are so right. They get upset and eventually will move them somewhere you may not be able to see.

Glad Kora did so well. That is a lot of puppies even if she is a big dog.
It's best to leave the babies where mom wants them. She has picked that spot because she feels it's safer!
It's amazing felt sorry for her crying and papa dog worrying about her.
I came upon you by mistake. This was so much fun to watch you with the new puppies. Thank you for sharing.

Yes respecting her space is top priority. Her whole body language facing away from everyone says leave me alone! Animals know what to do they don’t need humans moving their new babies!
I'm so happy that you and Gracie had so many wonderful years together.
Gracie is a beautiful name.❤
Maybe I am behind, when it comes to dogs eating raw eggs. I had not seen that before. A cooked egg maybe, boiled egg perhaps. I am surprised that there were no blankets, or towels put on top of the hay. Thank God the puppies are doing alright and Cora, Mama is well too. Thank you for your video of your dog Cora, her having her puppies. That is a blessing. The other animals are nice to watch too. 🙏😊❤
Congratulations Cora and Leeske! So happy that the babies are doing so good ❤
