The real sleeper is this lo-fi version of 8-Face. I love how the drums are inaudible, and how the tones by themselves are set up to sound like a challenge that has been fulfilled once the drums kick in. I also like the primal vocalizations paired with the uncomplicated but fast beat in Lady Gaga, that really does it for me for some reason. This album really melts my face
@Deep GirlVEVO as much as I love Björk i wouldn't say they rule avante garde, they're not basic by any means but i wouldn't really call them very avant garde at this point
@@sherbetxdamnare @CursedStraw with the accessibility of making music nowadays being so much better. i think avant guarde is really a term that's shrinking. even artists that make strange music arent really pushing a boundary, because it then wouldnt be terribly hard to find someone doing something similar a few years before they started making music. avante guarde ofc i think should be used relative to the time it was made, like where Stockhausen would very much be an unconventional avante guarde artist for his time. much of his technique and musical ideas have been well explored in the time since. even if still niche. if i had to directly answer your question someone i might still consider avante guarde now could be like yamataka eye and the music he makes now, or steve roden. more importantly i think as the years go on the term its getting less and less useful as a descriptor for anything besides marking as something you might have to let your ears atune to, or that an artist is small and has their quirks. its use often seems go lie in trying to heighten the perceived taste that a person has for liking an artist. saying you listen a lot of avant garde moreso as a way to brag then to want to explore sound and the boundaries we want to put on music. i wish i could be more concise. and i hope my point gets across, if you'd like more examples id probably also put justice yeldham, felicia Atkinson, yellow swans, and probably most accurate of all, a ton of teeny tiny artists that get zero attention on bandcamp or something similar. but i also acknowledge that other people have a much more broad definition of avante guarde. and if that is you, feel free to take this comment with a grain of salt its still a valid perspective i think. as long as you dont use niche music for cool points i dont think its that big a deañ

I like that bill Murray uploaded this
one track in and this is already great! so raw!
Lil Scuzzy is such a cute name. Wish a person got into DG and donned the name.
Hey, the drummer sounds a lot like Zach Hill. I wonder if he takes influence
