This EP takes me back to the summer of 2013.. Ah 16 years old, smoking pot and hanging out with friends before they all moved away. I found this band at the end of middle school, their music was the soundtrack to all of high school, now I'm heading into my first year of college, still in love with this band.
Check out this Japanese math rock band- tricot. I'm in middle school atm and love math rock and metal, this music helps ms a lot since when its hard I listen to math rock/metal and just makes stuff easier, it's like I'm addicted to music
leevi lepik I’m in middle school too I’m loving some Math Rock at the moment😂 We are the new wave we have to carry this great genre with any talents we have man😂😂😂
Funniest thing about Math Rock is that it’s probably really hard to concentrate on your Math homework whilst listening to it. EDIT (2022): I just realised I commented this on two different videos. Why?
It's intended purpose is not to help anyone do better at math. The "math" in math rock refers to the musical ratios. Just look up "What is math rock?" on YT to learn all about it.
Really?!?! Cause I always jammed out to math rock while doing any kind of school work. It's one of the genres that just help me think and concentrate more than most. It really helps that it's mostly instrumentals too. I find it to be the modern day classical music.
I'm privileged enough to be the one who bought one of their last (if not their VERY LAST) t shirts. It's a very melancholy feeling. I love this band and the fact that no reunion or reformation is anywhere close makes me very sad.
Nah on the contrary. They're all kinda doing their own thing now. It's kind of a shame but I DO love the shit out of them and would be most happy if they did wind up eventually getting back together.
I first came across this album when I was high on meth about 2 yrs ago. I loved every minute of it. now I've been sober since then and it listening to this gets me high. idk why. it's a work of art!
This EP is so fucking good it hurts. That part at 9:50 just makes me so happy it sends shivers down my back. As far as instrumental music goes this is the best, sorry post rock.

this album came out in 2005 though! but i agree, every time i saw them play live (at the lemp arts center in st. louis) the highlight was Caramel, which if memory serves they usually played last.. it was definitely the heaviest!
Everytime I hear this album, I have the feeling that this album was supposed to have vocals and they take off in the last second, I think it's because of that emo melody
i’m very grateful there are no vocals. i think in math rock they distract from the music, which is emotive enough to convey sentiment by itself. just my opinion
The bass player is a muaic theory and transposition teacher and the guitarist is an M.D. so those hands are still in good use! Not sure about the drummer, but he's commented on the live videos before.
