We had to quit spreading litter here in georgia today because of the wind.

Y’all should turn the slow moving equipment triangle around on the spreader so you can see it and it’s not black

Man, was really pleased you weren't racing the rain clouds on this Vid. Really liked it. Guess that answers my previous query regards the availability of the chicken litter. Still not sure however that the bird flu problem is over. Anyway good video, learned a little bit regards the litter density, it sure makes sense.

Litter availability is still difficult, I’ve just been able to build my contact list in the last year.

Was that cover crop seeded by the Bourgualt into the corn residue last fall? Looks like pretty good cover if so.

Matt , the future could bring growing hay , the number of homes being built on the land , I watched Jason / Kayla live , Jason was remarkable , his knowledge of equipment & what it takes to make it happen , I was listening & I know you were watching & listening , good luck , Rock on , also 10 billionaire 's in America have purchased 250,000 acres of land each , watch what they will grow & control, that crystal ball , stay safe , the very best in 2024 & years to come !

We grew a couple hundred acres of hybrid Bermuda hay in small square bales from 2002-2012. It got to where there wasn’t much income in it and our weather is a little more wet than Kayla and Jason’s which makes high quality hay production more difficult.
We may do something different in the future but it probably won’t be hay production

Matt: Im interested in how it works out economically. Spreading the litter yourself vs contracting it out.
I know it saves you time, and you get it on the field when you want it. But does it also save you a decent amount of money. Or time + fuel do you break even on it?

    • @griggsfarmsllc

I believe I cover that in our next spreading video.
