Very informative video. Just wish that I was in California instead of Michigan in late Dec. At least I'll be out of the weather in a garage. Thanks for the video.
It’s a great video. Thank you for showing every detail. I need to change the axles on both sides on my Rogue. It’s almost the same condition as your vehicle’s old axles. I also get some screeching noise and my mechanic told me that it’s because of the axles. Just wanted to make sure that replacing the axles will fix that noise issue as well. Were there any screeching noises on your vehicle because of the old axles?
Thank you for the feedback. No theyre were no screeching noise on the axles. Did the mechanic make sure that it was not the wheel bearings making the noise?
For climates with lots of salt, where the axle refuses to come loose, remove all 8 bolts holding the support bracket, cut the axle with a chopsaw on the transmission side of the bracket. Leave about an inch of axle, you will need the inch to smack with a sledgehammer. Once cut, I was able to wiggle the axle and the bracket out the wheel well. Then smack the inch of axle and it broke loose.
The last time I talked to them, they were still driving this car around, and haven't told me of any problems. And I don't recall the axle having a C clip. If you have the old axle, look to see if there is a slot where the grooves are where a C lip would go.
I have to do this to my Rogue but I'm hesitant to do it. You make it look easy!
You got this. Just take one step at a time.

brakes or wheel bearing is your problem

just heat up with a small torch and it will literally slide out on it's own. This is what i did.
What about the alignment? Doing it from the bottom, although a bit more difficult, avoids needing to align it later.
Yes its good to get an alignment to make sure you squared. Thank you for bringing that up
Did the acle last?
Did axle have c clip on transmission end?

Appreciate!
Thanks you my friend…..

if you angle the the driver side down hopefully yu wouldnt lose much if at all.
what fluid was that? transmission?
@@BillSW yes
I lost 1 quart on a level lift. I went ahead and replaced all the fluid though because it was so dirty. 5 quarts
How much was the price of the axles?
Autozone online is showing $100
