i think the quality of the needle plays a role as well. If you really use i think a good or premium cartridges i guess its sturdy enough not to bend if u accidentally hit the ink cups
I always change the cartridge I even if I only hit the bottom of the cup slightly. I’m probably super paranoid but I think hitting the bottom of the cup has definitely damaged the needle. Why take a chance? It’s $2
I never continued to tattoo with a needle I hit, but I’ve ALWAYS wondered what exactly was happening! Ink always goes everywhere anyway, so changing out needles is the SIMPLE part of the clean up process, but I did always wonder! Thanks!!
I only tattoo fake skin and myself and I swear I only hit the cup when I’m doing one on myself 😂 I always keep going till I’m finished. Haven’t started on anyone else yet
The crazy thing is my tats in jail that were done by hand healed well and still looked good 5 years later than any tats I've had done in shops over the years plus I maybe going crazy but the ink in the shops today no matter where i go it does not take I have to keep going back for refills and this has happened in many tatoo shops with me going back 3 times or more yet in jail the ink was perfect work that one out.
@@ThatTattooGuyOfficial Do you use an eye loupe to check needles before you use them? I’ve definitely seen hooked needles after hitting a cap with a 30x loupe
You should try shading and making lines after you hit the caps. To see how bad the damage is after this happens. Just curious
Oooh that’s a good idea. I’m not sure why I didn’t do that lol
Part 2 maybe coming up?
yesssss@@ThatTattooGuyOfficial
thanks for this-- the ink cup does basically nothing to a good quality needle
Testing membranes! Have like 4 brands on high voltage, time it and see what brands membrane lasts the longest
Check the inks in a microscope. Get a bigger zoom for the needles. 🥰

Why are you just guessing that they’re “duller”? Is there not a way to see if they actually are?
Because I don’t have a microscope
Cool experiment. 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Im honestly shocked i swore the needle would bw completly distroyed
Me too! Even when I really pushed it in there. Lol

I would look at the needles trough a microscop. How should we see something without one?
Best I had was a macro lens. I might make a part 2 any way I’ll try to get my hands on one

Vlad blad did this test off cam. Lite bottoming out does no visible damage
incredibly helpful. thanks
In my mind they are barbed arter hitting a ink cap ive always changed them out if i hit
I agree. I’m surprised the results weren’t more obvious tho
Also, do it put tiny particles of plastic into the skin......
🔥 tatbusters
Ahhh yes!
So you waste new perfect needles to show us all no damage is done? Very smart!
Lol
