Great job! It's really impressive how skilled musicians are these days. What used to be a challenging world class drum corps exercise is now at the high school level.
That's the beauty of it. The ceiling just raises. I wish I learned of drum corps earlier, I started at 20, makes me so happy to see HS kids do so well in this activity.
NAH buckaroos '42 was the hardest book ever played ever, don't change my mind. /s Kids these days are pushing so hard to become better than the generations before them, and it is so evident with the final product that is showing up on the field everywhere from HS to DCI. The information is out there free to everyone (youtube, reddit, etc.), and it is clearly getting used. Good job to these two!
@@jackargie1092 very true, they asked for any constructive criticism, I concur that it wouldn’t hurt to work on tempo, kudos they stayed ontime together, that’s half the battle, just tighten up the tempo. Other than that well done and you both know what parts to work on, nice job!!
Impressive ! My brain got stuck for a sec with what it thought were mistakes then realized it was minor changes than one learned 30 years ago . Think it was oringinal version by Murray Gussack sp? Still by far favorite cadence of all time
For the tenor player, try not slicing when doing your rounds, and keep your fingers on the sticks for the best control! It's a hard habit to break but I'm sure you can do it! Otherwise, very well done by both of you!
nicely done. there are some awkard to play passages in there that i never was a fan off and you got through them. could tell when the confidence started to wane gotta poooooosh :D
Taught middle and high school band for 14yrs. Been playing drums for 35yrs.... Keep doing whatever your doing because that was an exemplary performance my dear!!!! Your time is impeccable. You two should be proud of your accomplishments. Push yourselves to play things you can't play to grow as a player.... And not that there's any problem I can hear just remember as a musician it's fundamental to LISTEN all the time. Don't let yourself get tunneled into your part... that's when shit bag pops open!!! Lols... It's real.
This was pretty awesome! I used to play snare many moons ago, I was never as good as her. I was good enough to be able to really appreciate how clean she is playing. Bravo! I was never coordinated enough to play the tenors. He too was very talented! Sounds great together!

The talent is 1000% there
use metronome
They are playing together and in time, whether it’s the same speed as how it’s written

It was a live performance so they wouldn't.
One of those iconic cadences that has made its way into the hands of many.
Thanks for sharing your talents. Hopefully you are still drumming.
Props to y’all Ik how hard this piece is, those flams Ik took practice

Nice! Was just looking up SCV's '02 video and saw this.
Hey thanks!!
Learning it for placement auditions and I think I’ll have watched it at least 100 times by the time I have it down.
A year later I need to revise this to 200+.

This was fun to watch! Way to get after it!
Probably the cleanest and most articulate flams and smooth rolls on both the tenors and the snare. Well done!
Great job . Sounds like Steve Gadd’s “Crazy Army”.
