I started scvc at 14 but there was a 11 year old my second year .......... I'm too old now but if you can do it DO IT .... best thing that ever happened to me. And you will have family and tradition for life.... SCV baby!,
our drumline instructor in high school (1992) was the head dude at ETSU(east tenn st. univ). he brought one of his students who marched bass for SCV and he had based ETSU's cadence on electric wheelchair. it was different, but the tenor parts where they're using on hand to mute was in the cadence. it's cool to see where it all started. thanks for posting.
I figured out what it is with the end tenor..- he allows himself to come out of 'smoove Jedi' mode for half a beat and get his neck into it Crossmen-style! for the camera.. nice.
The beginning is all 7 stroke pickups, flama-fliddles, and flam taps. It's kinda old style with some modern sticking. The problem for me is the 7 stroke pick up rolls, at this tempo it's very difficult to play clean. + 1 + 2 +A3e+A4 + 1
Wow, that was weird. I'm talking about the yellow-domed building in the background. There are only a few of those buildings in existence, and one of them is here, in Oklahoma...just kind of strange for me...SCV rocks, of course...never got why they called this cadence "electric wheelchair"..been around for a long time, though...
@sumbooodeeee Well cadets are open class, they're the SCV version of Blue Devils B, you have to go to seperate camps and auditions for them. Well I know that Jersey Surf (lolz) and I think Troopers had 14 year olds, they were brass members though, i dont think there are any 14 year old percussionists in World Class
@sumbooodeeee well they do have the vanguard cadets and I think they refer all 14-16 year olds to them, but there are 14 year olds that march world class, but i dont think any march in a top 12 corps
do they change the snare parts in the beggining every year? cuz the snare solo in the beggining is different from the '02 1. i like the '02 1 better tho
I feel like I've been watching this same video every few years since high school...
Bro same here hahahah! I still think this is the best version on youtu.be
Bronze Yohn This is the first time probably since high school. Haha brings me back. We played a version of this in my drum line.
I heard my school's line march this my freshman year. I tried out for snare line the next year. .. Marched snare there after.
I NEVER tire of this amazing cadence!

Drum Corps is 14-21 tho?
@@dylancouch7286I believe there are different rules for open class. Don’t quote me though.
Takes me back to 2003, when I watched this in high school for motivation.

I've known Electric Wheelchair for awhile... but has anyone else realized the quads are splitting the roll at 0:43?!
In the 90's they were split sweeps. They watered it down actually lol.
@@WTurner859 where is the footage
@@erroneous3493 ua-cam.com/video/wKoc0XHnabc/v-deo.html
42 seconds and you can hear the crowd cheer it afterward.
been pretty difficult to learn on my own. damn you scv and all your flams!!!
This tenor line is so amazing
That spock roll...
I lol'd at the mad 80's riff at the end.
whoever filmed this must have really liked the tenor players
that is fucking fast for wheelchair. damn
0.52 is such an awesome lead into the groove.....love it
I love it 'cause it's part of the show from that year. Orawa for Orchestra
that '03 line was no joke.
Scv should bring this back as an on field warm up. In fact, bring back on field warmups. Boston has the right idea with reds rumba
if you look its the two center tenors who play the solo the one on the left plays the first part and the one on the right plays the second part
by far the best version of this song on YT.
Give this one a listen and see if you feel the same (no offense if you do): ua-cam.com/video/wKoc0XHnabc/v-deo.html

great day for drumming in the lot!!!! nice weather!!!
Thank u Mr Steve Gadd.
the basses are beast!
that is a bad ass cadence
those tenor players are SICK!!!
They're like robots made of liquid nitrogen.
yes, each year they will tweak certain things hoping to make it better (in their cadences).
thanks for that. Im havin fun learning them slowly :)
I think '03 was everyone's best year. I can't find one show from that year that I don't like.
@Gbassman5 ok thanks. i didn't notice the split -_-
i was hoping there was more to it...
omg the tenors are sick....i loev it...
So sick. My drumline is trying to play this. We have the groove clean. Sounds so tight.
two things, one, this was in orlando. two, did anyone catch the reference to orawa in the tenor break?
i like the visual on tenors at like 1:03
SCV Doing What They Do Best
OMG I didn't catch it until now, but the tenor break is a reference to the main lick in their show music (mainly from Orawa For Orchestra)
I know. It's my favorite part.
Holy shit this video is exactly as old as I am, I play quads now in high school
All I can Say iz these guyz make me wish I played tenors.
i think the 02 one is the best!
Yeah that was a good entrance to the groove part... OMG that was nice.. almost like a hawaiin melody
That guy went turbo!!!!
Why am I seeing so many goddamn versions to tenors of electric wheelchair. All the pdfs dont have a spock drum.
they got that part 4rm cookman, its called cut throat
lol! 2 tenor lick/ fill at 0:50... nice!
LOL thats awesome, I just noticed thats

well, if i could play this 1 it would b my fav 2! :)

i think they're playing "Crazy Army"
the video was posted under "how to and style". lol!

Ummm... Center tenor played notes when both of his sticks were in the air. THAT'S talent.
can someone help me learn it i really like this but i dont have the music for it
My school has those drums
anyone know where this warmup site is? just curious.
Yeahh....its like that in most line videos.
i marched bass 5 this year, and i wasnt in any of the videos or even pictures =/
Where's THE DAMN loop button when you REALLY need it.
@sumbooodeeee the age for all corps is 14-21
do you know where i can find this music?
What happened between the quads and the bass line?
what are the tenors doing around 1:06 that sounds like flam 5s but they cross their arms and it looks like theyre singling them?
been learning this one slowly but surely on my snare. lol its soooo rudimental! i hate all the flams! DAM YOU SCV! lol jk
@misfit9100 its a 5 stroke roll pick up dude
anybody got the link for the sheet music???
dont have a link but i have the sheet music cause you know i bought it!
@SpringCube the stick clicks arent written.
how did you get electric wheelchair , which site?
@KarnKrash how do you get in vanguard cadets? Also, can you please tell me a corp like that? not hating, just curious
They call it ‘wheelchair’ cause after you see this live you need a wheelchair to get back home afterwards n shit
and nobody rag on this guy for comparing drum corps to band... he's just asking where this video was taken
do they change the snare parts in the beggining every year? cuz the snare solo in the beggining is different from the '02 1. i like the '02 1 better tho
What school is that because that yellowjacket(bee) that you see on the wall is from my school....well my old high school.
sweet one-handed roll tenors! (0:40...) dirty snare intro :-( End tenor freaks out er somthing before the roll?...
would you happen to have the snare sheet music to electric wheelchair? And could you send me a copy?
I'll admit I'm a huge Cavies fan, BUT I majorly
thinks it's the Brinnkman arrangment. (Spelling?)
Just curious, is there any other difference between the '02 and '03 versions of this piece besides the intro?
was this in reno???
its sounds like old school percussion with some added new school stuff lol.....still a great piece though
oh sorry i dont need anymore
I have a cadence I wrote for a collegiate line this year that I'd be willing to trade straight across (I have it in PDF format).
CHECK OUT THEM TENORS AT 1:01- 1:05
0:33 was that ScoJo?
If anyone wants the music, you can message me. I have the snare and tenor part, aswell as a full score.
1:00
Hey i have the music!! Can I please have double beat!
good but i like the 02 version better
also *little and *crazy.
um I think that 1:03 makes up for that...im pretty sure if it was a solo it would hav been somthin ALOT more interesting
Random distorted man walking across at 0:32
Intro is different.
its gusseck
bro listen to does basses OMG
split roll
Whats the age range for scv?
sumbooodeeee the age is the same for all corps in DCI. 22 is age out
that was sooooooo dirty
@sumbooodeeee 17-21 i think
anyone got this tenor music will trade for grievous groove music tenor bass and snare
just buy it.....its only 5 bucks....and its actually pretty simple to do
Gussek..... looking at the sheet music.
