I think we should all try to make atime machine...we came of age in the 80's...we wanna go back! I sure as hell wanna go back...they can keep the 90's and the new f'kn millennium. I never wanted the 80's to end. The music, the clothes, the rock bands, the girls.....no other decade like it before or since
Mike Reno has to be one of the most underrated singers of rock. Up to this day 25 years later, he can still hit the high notes and rarely go flat. Singers in the rock field his age are usually done....
One of my all time favorite 80s bands. What a great sound, and yes Mike is way under rated. I think I was hooked on Loverboy because of his voice. Go find some of their live stuff, he sounds just as good live as he does in studio. Can't say that about too many singers.
I love Mike Reno! His voice and direction of his melodies to his lyrics are untouchable... So original, I do not know any vocalist before him that sings like he does... That is what makes him very original, and the band too the way the music is, and was orchestrated; time changes with the melody is pure bliss.
'saw these guys open for Journey on the 1981 Escape Tour, at the Cow Palace. They not only kicked ass but they had the crowd going-even before the headliner hit the stage! Very cool that they're still rocking. Journey was super badass too, of course, their absolute peak of popularity and they were awesome. Memorable night.
Loverboy has ment a lot to my wife and I. We were in high school, I asked her to go to the Loverboy show in Kansas City in 1983 her mom would not let her saying she was too young. The next year she got to go, it was one of first dates. I am in a wheelchair now not sure if i am going to live or not, but would love to see them one more time!
They will ALWAYS be my favorite band. Saw them here in Las Vegas 3 summers ago down on Fremont St. The crowd was going crazy. All you could see was people and it just went forever. They put on a great show.
I try not to think about it. Compared to now, August of 2020 with political upheaval, our lives wrecked by a virus, the media, gender war,...no social media back then, so much more positivity, it was a virtual paradise in comparison. Been listening to LB a lot lately, would love to see them. They even have some great newer music.
Bigtime1998 I think in a interview that’s the norm for a band member. There might be some that will say we weren’t that good and no one liked us... yeah we sucked... but not many, no.
How many people know he lived in toronto? I first met him on young street in toronto at the gasworks. He was singing for a band called Moxy. A TO. Band. A year later i met him at spanks in brampton As the new singer of the New Loverboy. I told him they sounded Great!!! And to my surprise he just said Thanks. A real down to earth guy. A great memory for me ill never forget. True story .luv their music to this day im 66 yrs young And luv the eightys rock music!!
Mike Reno is the type of guy you want to invite over and have some beers play some poker all night long and just listen to him tell stories. Mike if you read this you are welcome over anytime
I was born in the early 60’s but growing up in the 70’s and loving the rock bands and then HERE COMES LOVERBOY!! That turned to be my ultimate favorite groups even above The Rolling Stones....I still rock with Loverboy today...
If you notice this is one of the few groups whose lineup never changed because they decided at the beginning they'd work together as a band. Everyone got an equal share regardless of who wrote the songs.
Mike seems like a very down to earth dude. I've seen many interviews with him and he seems very humble, very appreciative for what he and his band has accomplished and they are still out there gigging. Just amazing!
Very cool that they are all still together. That is pretty rare. For anyone young enough to not remember the 80s, it is like the legend of the Force and the Jedi. All the talk about having fun, dancing, smoking, drinking, partying to great music, living large. The USA was the boss, the best damn country in the world and actually proud of it. The 80s was all about having a great time and loving life. Well, all that is TRUE. All of it.
Absolutely love Loverboy Nation Mark I saw them two nights ago with Foreigner and their farewell tour oh my gosh they rock the house! Not to mention it had been 41 years ago since I had seen them play for the first time
Loverboy was my very first concert I ever went to back in the early 80's in Calgary. Great band....right up there with Foreigner if I do say so myself.
He definitely sounds great .. Grow up listening to Lover boy seen them in concert in the early 80's . I must have been 13 ... And I'm still jamming out .. how cool is that lol.. 🎧🎤🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵💖💖💖💖👍👍👍😀
Loverboy was my very first concert. I forget what year it was but it was early 80's during their 'Loving Every Minute Of It' tour. The Hooter's opened for them. It was in Midland TX at the Midland Chaperelle Center, Midland College. Absolutely loved it and will always remember that concert.
Went to a Loverboy concert at the Crystal Grand in Wisconsin Dells last Saturday night, Oct. 10, 2015. Disappointed that there were less than a thousand people there, and yet it allowed those who were there to get real close to the stage. Mike Reno and ALL of the band members were GREAT!
Mike Reno is the GOAT of performers. Still looking good at any age. Please tour again or at least do a guest signing of greatest hits album at coffee shops!
Mike Reno is one of the most genuine, talented and generous rock musicians out there and still rocking with Loverboy now 40 years on. Just saw them perform at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA. this past Wednesday and they rocked the venue along with Rick Springfield, the headliner for the evening.
Loverboy is great! Never copied anyone and has their own sound...And has so many great tunes...I just hope you come to Tennessee sometime soon so other folks down in the south can appreciate your own brand of rock and roll!!!
Hi Kristi... Well I guess Im in the wrong area then cause theyve never been to Chattanooga...though two hours south of you... Where did you relocate from?
Mike Reno used to sing in a band called Moxy in the late 70s. Also from Canada. He had his last name changed from Mike Rynoski to Mike Reno when he joined Loverboy.
That Moxy album is called Under The Lights i first heard it in 2008, Reno at the time was 23 years old. He did just that one album and then Loverboy formed a year or so later. Under The Lights had some good tunes.
Saw Loverboy no less than five times. Three times at the Cow Palace in San Francisco with Joan Jett opening for the 1983 concert and The Outfield opening for the Dangerous Tour. Saw them perform at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds and most recently with Rick Springfield and Greg Khin Band at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA. All great concerts. Great memories.
They're all such nice, personable guys. I've been lucky enough to meet them all on several occasions and had some long conversations with Paul, Matty, and had a great short talk with Doug and Scott. They'll always be by favorite band because of what great guys they are.
Mike sounded absolutely amazing couple weeks ago at Chastain , Atlanta. Wow.. His voice , still is incredible- I was stunned how well he hit every note . It shows how he still loves his work. Thanks Loverboy- Leigh Ann
One of our local radio stations does all 80’s weekends every weekend and at 5 pm they always play Working for the Weekend to kick it off each and every Friday. I grew up with these guys because my parents loved them. I can still sing many of the songs word for word all these years later.
+Matthew Sherwood - LOL. Yes, our kids are now in their late 20's and 30's and I graduated in 1982. Gosh, where does the time go?? Our lives are HALF over!!!
I think that may have been November 1983. I was at that concert, too. Joan Jett opened. Great concert. In fact, a really awesome laser show. I was surprised about that. Saw them again in February1986 at the Hampton Coliseum. The Hooters opened that one!! Another great concert! They were (are) a great LIVE band.
I was SO IN LOVE WITH MIKE RENO!! I owe it all to MTV; one look and I JUST KNEW HE WOULD MARRY ME. My first Loverboy concert was summer of 1982! It was held at the "Fabulous Forum" in Englewood, CA THE SUMMER STRUT was the tour. Consisted of Iron Maiden (opener), Scorpions, Loverboy, followed by Foreigner who closed. I was turning 17 the following week. I drove with my bff, Sherry Carmona from Bakersfield to Beverly Hills, then on to Englewood dressed ONLY in ...BLACK AND RED (leather black pants, red silk blouse and red pumps). I never really knew about the crazy "tailgate" parties either, WOW! From that point on, I was HOOKED! Looking back I guess you could have called me? I followed them to different concert events for probably 1.5 to 2 yrs. and NEVER even got to meet him. LOL
Going to see Loverboy tonight at the casino in Booneville Mo. I cant wait I was a teenager in the 80's and Loveboy was an awesome band. Mike reno has an amazing voice and the band knows how to rock for sure.
Our local station that does all 80's weekend always opens 5:00 pm with Working for the Weekend. I grew up on Loverboy and the like because my parents listened to it a lot. I can sing most songs. Still love it today.
Back in the 80's my boyfriend at the time took me to see Loverboy in Nashville, Tennessee. We were in the Nosebleed seats and I became a total B+*! to my bf just Knowing Mike Reno would see me and wisk me away! Lmfao Alas memories 😂
Saw them here in vegas at The Cannery. Was a awesome show. Was hoping to run into one of them after the show in the casino but no luck ;( Maybe next time mike...smile
My family has been instructed to play "turn me loose" at my funeral, thanks for the memories Mike!!
But instead the play a Kanye song....oooffff
@@sirjohndoeofpa3292 here's the kicker:
I also told them "I'll friggin haunt you if you play anything else"!
Hah, good one dude!!!
@@DrivapeteIf they play anything else, follow up "Turn Me Loose" w/"Lovin' Every Minute Of It".
I miss the 80's. Those were the best of times musically. The partying, the dancing, LOL....can I go back in time now?
i totally agree...best years of my life.....im 53 now but still feel 25 lets party

Coasterdude02149 Yeah, I'd go back in a heartbeat but with the wisdom I have today, LOL.
Carolyn Evers
Absolutely...HAS to be with the wisdom we have now-then we really would live it up
The 80's were so fantastic and fun!! I feel sorry for the youth of today.
The dude is a living legend .Super talented and so humble guy . He deserved all . All the member of this bad are great

He is definitely a very underrated singer.
Agree Sean....he still sounds awesome. He is blessed :)
Mike Reno 🤤
I love this guy but I hear a lot of flatness in there

Hey Scott. Hope you are doing well.
he is INCREDIBLE. The voice remains the same, it has not aged. A real Rockstar. I became a fan in the middle of 2021
