There's no doubt!! Why Free is not in the rock and roll hall of fame as an early influence on the whole blues rock, hard rock sound is beyond me. Paul Rogers singing in Free makes my hair stand on end.
Sammy, you really do the best down to earth interviews. Especially with all the greats you have access to. Thank you. I’m a fan of all your guests & obviously you.
Love to see Paul almost embarrassed to be called a 'star'. Very humble. He obviously does it because he loves music and feels blessed to be able to to this for a living. Awesome. I know Sammy feels the same way. I've seen them both several times since the late seventies and have never seen either not giving their all to it. Thanks guys! You ROCK!
Paul Rodgers - such a classic powerful male vocal. Seen him a few times live, missed his collab with Queen but fully respect him for the part he played in getting Queen back out on the where they belong. Credit to Sammy as well, another voice that can't really be replicated, unique and recognisable no matter what he does. Two legends of rock
I read an interview with Freddy once where he told a story about getting into it with Brian May in the studio and screaming at him “You asshole I know what you want and I have already told you I can’t be Paul Rogers.” Lol So I couldn’t wait to hear that collaboration.
I took my wife to see Paul w/ Queen for her bday in Phx, AZ.. Such a great show, Paul sounded amazing as did Queen but it was really cool when Queen and Paul would do Bad Company and Free songs..
Saw that tour 2016 in Detroit. Joe Walsh opened and during Rocky Mountain Way brought out Keith Urban, he was playing their the next night but didn’t go because I went to see GNR the next night. Meanwhile Bad Company was excellent and what can you say about Paul Rodgers. He’s unbelievable
Bad Company was my first concert (Desolation Angels tour), and I became a lifelong fan. Paul is imo the true “voice” of rock. And him not being in the HOF is a complete sham.
I have always been so blown away by the disconnect between Paul Rodger's slight speaking voice & the massive, larger than life voice of a god when he sings. Simply a giant of rock, & Sammy is standing toe to toe with him in this performance. Love these road trips.
i used to drive around as a Teen in my car listening to Free thru my 8-Track cassette, over and over. Free, Mountain, Zeppelin etc.. found memories and what a Great Voice that hits all the Tones! Thanks for the Music Paul Rodgers and Sammy Hagar in his own right!
Agreed Paul sounds great! Sammy does as well as long as he stays out the Van Halen Lane. There is one & one only David Lee Roth, and that is the only version of Van Halen!!!
Love Paul and Sammy. Went to so many Bad Company concerts in high school--so much fun! Paul sounds as good now as he did back in the 70s! Love Sammy's Plain Jane!
Definitely one of my all time favorite AXS TV videos !!! Two of my most favorite singers together and belting them out !!!!! Huge fan of both Sammy and Paul Rogers !!! People think I was crazy when I tell them that Paul Rogers is a Rock God !!!!!! My love for both of these guys and their band definitely goes back to the 70’s !!!!
Paul Rodgers and Sammy Hagar ... these guy's voices are still as powerful as when they were kids. I saw Chickenfoot awhile ago and was pleasantly astonished at the strength of Sammy's voice. And Paul, well ...his voice is the preeminent rock n roll voice, isn't it?
How can you not love Paul Rodgers. One of the top 5 vocalist of all time. Very humble man!! Keep on rocking Paul!! Love Sammy Hagar, would loved to have seen Sammy in his Solo time. I loved every song on the Standing Hampton album. I did get to see Sammy when he was the front man for Van Halen at the Monsters of Rock concert in 1988 in Spokane, Wa. RIP Eddie Van Halen!!! PS, to date The Monsters of Rock was the best and longest concert I’ve ever been to. The concert was about 11 hours long. We got to see Van Halen, Scorpions, Metallica, Dokken and Kingdom Come. Great times and great memories!!!
I saw Paul in 2014 at an outdoor venue in Littleton, CO He was standing up playing a Bad Company song on piano when it began to downpour. It didn't stop him from cutting the show short. He just kept on playing with a big smile on his face. What a true legend
This was the last cruise my niece got to take before she passed away. She met Paul at the airport. He was so nice and she was lucky to have met him and get a picture with him. We were to see Sammy front row in 2020.
Two of my absolute favorites for sure! Paul has been an inspiration for so many! I feel so lucky to have seen Bad Company on tour with Lynyrd Sknyrd. L.S. cites Paul as their hero! Definitely my Favorite show ever!! Sammy does the best interviews and is a terrific showman too.
The Firm is STILL in my playlist and one of my favorite bands of all time!!! Paul and Jimmy Page! Come on!!!! Steve Perry is still my #1 but man Paul is up there with Sammy and Steve!
You ever listen to the Coverdale Page album, the rhythm section in this band was much more fitting for Jimmy Page. The songs are much better than the Firm songs. Slade and Franklin were a very poor fit for Page and Rodgers. The Coverdale Page album blows away anything the Firm ever did.
When you’re the favorite singer of Freddie Mercury from queen and Freddie said he’s better than Freddie it’s pretty bad ass! My favorite singer of all time! There’s one word that describes his singing, EFFORTLESS! I love you Sammy! I’ve seen you both in concert multiple times. Hey to Mama V in the desert!
Mr haggar thanks for all these tresures. Young people each one of these videos IS a Master clas. These kind of breed talent has to be back, reimplanted, relaunched in the new generations.
Both of these Front men have changed my life musically. Both of them are amazing. I've seen Sammy live multiple times. I regret I've never seen Paul Rogers live and hope I do very soon.
I seen Paul and his band in Mesquite NV. He absolutely rocked the house. I made my way to the front of the stage, stuck my hand out ,he shook my hand. It was my birthday, I won a jackpot, shook Paul Roger's hand. What a night.
Truly a legend. Hearing him recall his love for music it's almost like the dude is just a fresh as the day he started out and not some jaded washed out rock has been with decades of wear and tear. Paul Rodgers has always and will always be my No. 1 rock voice.
For my money Paul is the greatest rock SINGER ever, his voice carries a truckload of feeling and soul.
Dont forget Dio and Robert Plant
agreed!
@@stefanreiman3527 for sure.
Yep
He’s in my top 4-5 singers.
Paul is definitely one of the top 5 vocalists of all time. Amazing rock voice
Paul is one of the great rock n roll voices!
Absofrickenlutley!
So is Sammy
He seems like a nice lad too, some of the famous can be a little full of themselves.
Damn-Straight
Paul's time with Bad Company was like a soundtrack to my youth in the 80's. Love all of his stuff and is truly an icon.
Me too. My pre-teen wonder years of elementary school 1972-1980 were filled with Bad Co and continued in HS of 80s
Mee Too⚡
paul Rodgers...what a class act. one of the best voices ever in rock yet still just seems so cool and humble.
It's hard to put into words how great the band Free was and still is. R.I.P. Paul Kossoff & Andy Fraser.
KOSSOFF AND FRAZER,STELLAR PERFORMERS,SHOOTING STARS
totally...awesome band
There's no doubt!! Why Free is not in the rock and roll hall of fame as an early influence on the whole blues rock, hard rock sound is beyond me. Paul Rogers singing in Free makes my hair stand on end.
@@KeithStLouis-yv3bd It's just a reflection on the Hall of Shame.
Two singers who never lost their voice.
Klaus Meine of Scorpions is other great example.
True and it's refreshing
I get the feeling that Sammy loves life, love people, and love music. He comes off as genuine and down to earth.
Two great LEGENDS RIGHT here Love them both
Agreed ☄️🌠
Sammy, you really do the best down to earth interviews. Especially with all the greats you have access to. Thank you. I’m a fan of all your guests & obviously you.
Yeah, my only problem when Sammy interviews rock legends is, I wish they would go on for an hour!
You ROCK!
Ridiculous that Paul is not in Rock and Roll HOF and Sammy is........
@@jaysantos536 RRHOF has become a joke. There needs to be a new way to recognize musicians by the musicians themselves.
@@e.o.s.470 Exaclty! They are nominating even Eminem there like wtf?
@@jaysantos536
Make no mistake Paul Rogers is on a much higher level then the RRHOF.😉
One of THE greatest voices in rock history...Paul Rodgers
Paul Rogers, you absolutely are the best on the planet. Thank you for helping us all to rock.

Greatness!! Sammy is just a class act. One of my favorite Paul Rogers projects was the firm, still listen to it often.
Yeah the firm that was Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers
Great band was jamming to it yesterday
Free, Bad Co, and The Law. My favorite Paul Rodgers bands
I saw Bad Company in Nashville. He opened for Joe Walsh. What a great show! Paul’s voice was spectacular. I loved Free as well. “All Right Now…” ☮️
Saw the same show Joe Walsh opened for Bad Company
@@williammitchell1785 Not in Nashville-Bad Company opened for Joe.

Two legends! Two legends that can still out sing their contemporaries to this day! ENOUGH SAID!
Both sound amazing for being over 70
I enjoy watching Sammy be a fan.

So much great music from these two.
No one has ever enjoyed being a rock star more than Sammy Hagar.
What about Billy Gibbons?
That Cat is always looking like he is having fun.
A rock star with out big timing someone
Oh I think Freddie Mercury loved being a star
I think the guy he replaced in Van Halen loved it more.
Been to a zillion concerts many were the top ten - But Sammy can put a party on ! what a Blast
Simon Kirke still laying it down at 72 years old. He and Paul Rodgers have been playing together (on & off) for over 50 years....
Amazing Meeting!!!
Free and Montrose, two of my favorite Bands of all time 🙌🙌👊💪
SAMMY, such a cool cat and always doing such great stuff.
I grew up listening to both of these guys and still do. Great stuff Sammy keep rockin man!!!
Two of the best and longest-lasting singers and still have great voices.
Jimmy Lee and Jerry Lee still have beautiful singing voices...
