Mike is truly a nice, normal and down to earth person, he actually overheard me talking with my sister and brother in law about the death of my father at Calgary International Airport, and he took the time to come over, tap me on the shoulder and console us and give me a hug. I'm still trying to believe that he was considerate enough to take the time to make us feel a little better in such a devastating moment. Cheers Mike, and I will never forget that! PAUL MCDONALD 👍
What a class guy!...Friendly, genuine, funny and humble....and very talented...it all comes out genuinely!...Continued success and happiness to you Mike!...Saw Loverboy in 1983 in Toronto at the CNE...still have great memories!....Headpins opening!...Great night!....😊😊😊😊
Great singer songwriter and real nice guy. I first saw Loverboy in 1976 on a second bill opening for April Wine the first band was Doc Holiday. I fell in love with them then and I still love them now. Keep on rocking Loverboy......
All of their songs are awesome not 1 bad song everything they do is well done excellent i play their songs and sing along at work jamming down to Loverboy its over hot girls in love take me to the top turn me loose working for the weekend notorius loving every minute of it i get a kick out of that video😎🎸👍👍 and all of the other excellent songs
My generation, was soooooo cool, and Lover Boy was king, love these guys, today at 2014, have not found one, soooooooo coooooooool, very great stuff nd remember Lover Boy was first vidio on MTV.
Yes, Capricorns are the best down to earth people! 👍🏻😊 He and I share the same sign and I was really surprised to discover that. Just interesting bit of trivia, but from the interviews I’ve seen w/him, he seems INCREDIBLY nice!!
We saw the Loverboy last weekend and what a great time! A band that still loves what it does. Inasmuch as I've known the band since the earliest days I wish I would have done a little research before seeing the show.
I have to say that i like the band far more now than I did then. He seems like an easy guy to be around. Some famous people loose their mind but I'd bet he's funny and fun.
My opinion only. Have to say that this was ans is the best rock star interview posted ever . Mike Reno is a down to earth man. Knows what the industry is about. Reminds me a little of Jay Black
Mike I hope you sometimes look these up! You've been rocking me out since 81-82! I steady had Loverboy on my Walkman while tearing up the moguls back in the day! My knees are shot my shoulder is wasted but you guys still get me going! At 52 I still get a hell yeah from the kids! I might not walk for a week but I tell them bust some, "The kid is hot tonight", see how it fires you up! Mike you're still hot tonight! 😆!
Hey they were great when I saw them at the BALLPARK in Old orchard beach Maine in 1985, rocked the stadium!!! Im 48 now and still have those awesome memories!!! Everyone gets old, and sometimes get overweight, but they were and are fantastic!!! Its not about what people looklike douchebag!!
Does anybody have that concert footage from the first clip "turn me loose" that they can post up here??? It looks like the band were really rocking out and would like to see it in full - awesome times :o)
No doubt ZX2Man....I used to have people call me Hulk Hogan - 6' 4" long blonde hair - great tan - and ripped. Now I kinda resemble Homer Simpson...lol
Why has no interviewer ever asked Mike, why he never had long hair like most hard rock singers and bands of the '80s. He's been asked anything but that and it's such an obvious question to ask, yet no one's ever thought of asking it appararently.
check out the clip midway through from the working for the weekend video! howie is a f'in great drummer to watch. how many bands have a drummer like that who goes on to be a successful comedian? ok, personally, im not a fan of howie mandel's comedic work but still you have to hand it to him and the band. awesome.
good god. he's showing off that 80's style rocker moose knuckle at the end of the video. LOL. love their songs, almost every one a hit in its time. great groove. I hope i don't turn into one of those drunk old guys you see doing air guitar to the rock songs of their era. every bar has one.
It sucks to get old and lose your looks. I can testify to this. I once looked like Sylvester Stallone, the girls called me "Rocky". Now 20 years later i look like Peter Griffin.
Mike is such a cool guy...wow! I just read the comment that HOWIE MANDELL is the DRUMMER>>>DA fuQ?!?! Holy shit I feel like i just...I dont know, discovered the world aint flat...HOLY SHIT MAN> Mandell gets around...#boggle
Loverboy- one of the most influential?!? C'mon, they were great at what they did but I would not (and I'm sure they'd agree) go so far to call them influential. That accolade definitely goes to the ones before them. And I say this without any disrespect to Messrs. Reno and co.

VERY TIGHT BAND, i listened to their music and they are heavy hitters, and yea he sounds outstanding considering the years, hard driving rock
Just saw LoverBoy in Toronto opening for Foreigner on July 2023. They were amazing even after so many years
Such a cool humble regular guy with an amazing voice!!!

I have to say that i like the band far more now than I did then. He seems like an easy guy to be around. Some famous people loose their mind but I'd bet he's funny and fun.

i didnt know "when it's over" was his fav. i have to agree with him. i hope he takes care of himself.

Video published in 2007... now it's 2017, no... 2018, and yeah Mike, they are playing your songs in commercials.
No doubt ZX2Man....I used to have people call me Hulk Hogan - 6' 4" long blonde hair - great tan - and ripped. Now I kinda resemble Homer Simpson...lol
so what if he's overweight? most of us are thirty years later.
MTV at least did that right. Now MTV is pure crap.
Quite possibly the most dramatic singer in rock and roll
I have been in lust with Mike Reno for 29 years! ;-)
...and that great career he had with the Dolphins, too!
I always remember an old radio interview in which they were asked how why they came up with the name Loverboy. They said it was a package deal -lol.
Why has no interviewer ever asked Mike, why he never had long hair like most hard rock singers and bands of the '80s. He's been asked anything but that and it's such an obvious question to ask, yet no one's ever thought of asking it appararently.
I love Alex Jones!

Most think that was Mike in the Red Leather Pants on the album cover, but it was actually a 14 year old girl! True story
good god. he's showing off that 80's style rocker moose knuckle at the end of the video. LOL.
love their songs, almost every one a hit in its time. great groove. I hope i don't turn into one of those drunk old guys you see doing air guitar to the rock songs of their era. every bar has one.
We loved Loverboy... in the EIGHTIES!! When you were YOUNG😧
It sucks to get old and lose your looks. I can testify to this. I once looked like Sylvester Stallone, the girls called me "Rocky". Now 20 years later i look like Peter Griffin.
They should thank j.p Richardson (big bopper) for music videos being a available he is the one who started it and thought of it
music of today, had nothing on them...they're music was so much better.
