Wow, you were doing really well. That's a sadly unsatisfying ending. Randomly losing to panic without a chance to react is disappointing.

      Yeah the ending stunk !

If I get this game, I think I'd house rule it to give yourself a chance to react to the deployment.

@@OneStopCoopShop I just played this at a recent gathering and had a similar end game experience. We were all having a good time up until the game abruptly ended due to a massive sudden Panic. Seems like a design flaw that should be addressed.

Peter, jerry, and I played an in-development version, and brought up how problematic this ending is. Clearly they didn’t take the feedback :( - Mike

I made a thread over on board game geek about this. I and a few others have been throwing around a few different ideas on the best way to fix it. The recommended fix from the designer is just to use 4 deployments. While that can help, I don't think its the best solution.

Hey Colin, I recently started playing this game with my son and we kept being overwhelmed by the third round and losing to all sites being panicked. I came back to watch your video a second time and remembered that is how you lost as well, so I scoured BGG and then went back and played solo last night to try and come up with a viable solution so my son wouldn't get frustrated. I ended up running a two handed game with four rangers (two teams of two) . Like the rule book suggested, I combined each pairs decks and raised my hand limit to 7. From the advise of BGG however, I gave each pair 3 action tokens (none in the HQ) and only turned over 4 cards each deployment phase. This led to a much more enjoyable but still tense game in which I won in the end, but it took me 3 battles to defeat Rita and if I had not won the final battle, I would have surely been overrun during the next deployment phase. Having a larger hand size makes finding those combos easier, which is part of the fun of the game and is the only way to catch back up when an enemy starts with a FAST card. If you haven't gone back to Power Rangers HOTG yet, I highly suggest trying it again with the above rules. Cheers.

Awesome playthrough, just a couple of small goofs I noticed. The monster's cards go in the top row, monster row activates first then foot soldier row. Battles don't end until every card is defeated/resolved (so in the pudgy pig fight, you would have kept going for three more turns or until you defeated all the foot soldiers. Defeating the foot soldiers is still useful in this situation since they don't get added to the experience tracker if they run away due to monster defeat.)
Rough ending, but I think you probably could have saved it if you had remembered to Power Up instead of recovering twice with Kimberly. It's pretty important to be as efficient as you can with actions. I think I would have powered up with Kim, recovered with Jason, use Jason to start the battle with Pudgy Pig, and then have everyone move to the Industrial District and use the rest of Trini's actions to clear it out
Edit: Oh, and I would definitely love to see another playthrough. I love the rangers they add in Shattered Grid, and there's a lot of boss and monster variety after you've got that and the villain pack

I also vote for another playthrough. Maybe use a house rule or something if something like this happens. Why not use the White and the Green Ranger together with the Pink one. That wouldn't be awkward at all :D

I like the mechanics of the game, except the panic in the location. It ended the game just like that??? 😞😞 Really sad.

The easiest solution to this issue is handled by the rules, use the assault mode for the command centre. As all overflow minis go there and you don't lose unless you finish a round with enemies there. I find that once i started using that i don't lose to panic in an unsatisfying way any more. It does slightly make it harder but it does mean you have better control over how you react

Ahh it's a shame to lose this way! The forums seem a little mixed though, some say that the deployment panic is something that can be prepared for, and some say it can't. Personally, i'll stick with this standard (slightly more difficult) mode instead of use 4 deployments in an 'easy mode' because the game is quite fast to set up and play.

Hi Colin, when the monster comes out, I thought the monster cards activated first? Then once all 4 have activated then the patrollers activate?

    Hi Collin,
Nice Video again. I thought if u have different enemies they all get their own row with their activation cards. But I am not sure about This point?!
Around minute 9 u Attack the third card but I Think its protected by the Fourth card with the guard ability. Thats the point with different enemies and lay out in lines. In This case the guard card would protect the First card because it protect left and right and up and Down.
    Greetings Mike

In 8 playes it has happened 2 times. So not great but I think I need more plays to find out if it's normal to have this happen!
