We missed a few rules in this video! Check out our blog summarizing what was missed and how to play it correctly! Apologies for any confusion.

Question. When you fought nasty knight and zack attacked the lion shield why didnt you calculate the damage from the 2nd lion shield when he dealt damage? You guys only calculated the 1st lion shield for 4 damage when really he should have received 7 damage in total. Am I wrong in this?
Had to double check the rules because you missed this one in game and it's not in your FAQ Blog either, but at 1:03:25 you remove Knasty Knight from the board, but leave the other foot soldiers in the zone. These models should have fled the battle when Knasty Knight was defeated. Rulebook entry below
Pg 12, under "Defeating Monsters": Remove the monster figure and all remaining foot soldier figures from the current location and
return them to the supply. (The foot soldiers are not considered defeated.)
Really love the presentation of the cards and tokens on the screen. Amazing job with it being in sync with what they are saying and doing in real time
Thanks!
Yeah the TC overlay game is on point, as always
Love the house rule. Changing rangers when you die. I’m gonna use that in my game as well
I'm so glad to have come across this video. I had no knowledge of this game's existence until recently. Can't wait to play it with with my friends.
It was 93, Karate and Dinosaurs were king. Jurassic Park was just released and it was the biggest movie of that time, it's safe to assume if you were around then you were a dinosaur kid.
Love this game played it about 7 times last year and have been eagerly awaiting my morphin master pledge. The game just gets me so pumped.
Amazing video! The graphics and explanation was so helpful, hope to see more gameplay from y'all!
Great to hear! Have a wonderful time. Be sure to check the pinned comment about the rules we got wrong.
You guys did get Guard and Adjacent wrong in this game. Guard affects enemies who are next to it Horizontally AND VERTICALLY, but no diagonally. So Guard does affect stuff on a high row, but so does Zack's Hip Hop Kido and Sweeping Strike.
Thanks so much you guys for doing this video. I just purchased this game (I had no idea it even existed and just happened upon it!) and I was a little confused on some of the rules. But seeing it played out and explained by you fine gentlemen, made it all clear. You guys rock the kasbah. Subscribed!
I like how the rangers you picked represents your real personalities in a way ;)
@31:22 you create 2 rows (super putty's and regular putty's). I thought they would be a single row up to 4 cards, and the different rows only applied to monsters or boss?
I'm getting this game next week, I can't wait!!!
Absolutely love that I found this video and channel, helped me understand the game far better than anyone else has. You guys have great personality too! Thanks! Subscribed!
Amazing tutorial and presentation! Super easy to follow along!
Thank you!
@@teamcovenant No problem. I just received my pledge, and this is a great resource for new players. @43:55 You mention the defeating monster=automatic powerup. I was unable to find that in the rulebook. Can you tell me what section that is in? Also if this is the case, do you complete a partially completed powerup track or do you leave that as is, and continue with the remaining powerup steps?
Are you fellas planning on busting this out in the near future? I know lifestyle games are more your thing, but this game is a lot of fun!
can't help but think these mechanics will be altered and changed to fit 15 different themes in the future. really interesting, although it might be hard to convince some people, "hey let's play power rangers!" but it was also one of the best SNES games.
iGGy eo I completely agree. I’d much rather play pretty much any other theme besides Power Rangers. Slap some TMNT on this game and I’d be all over it in a heartbeat! Lol
I'm not even a Power Rangers fan and I enjoyed playing this game!
At around 54:53 Billy dealt a damage to the "Smash and Slash" card to defeat it, I'm surprised that the Guard card effect still only applies to the physical cards to its right and left (which were defeated at the time) instead of guarding the next valid undefeated card on its right and/or left.
I guess I'm used to being punished by cooperative board/card games. haha
I'm guessing since its been almost 2 years after the release of this video you guys are no longer offering the token upgrade packs? they tokens look fantastic!!!!
We are not Andrew. Sorry we can't help you out!
As far as your custom tokes go, how many packs need to be purchased to replace the tokens in the base game?
Our tokens will be in similar quantities to the cardboard ones, so just one pack!
What about when two adjacent cards have GUARD? Wouldn’t they guard each other?
@48:45 the Zach Power Axe attacked, did you guys play it right. Full damage to shield and then 3 to adjacent?
In the first area in Angel Grove Park on the second fight the two cards BOTH had Guard, what is the correct way to deal with that as surely thay are protecting each other so neither can be targeted?
We had to look that up! Rulebook page 13 says "Guard cards cannot be guarded by other cards with the guard keyword."
Dont you have to atk the guard first? Thats the ability from a guard foot soldier. If its on play you have to defeat the putty guard first if you want to atk the other putty patrolers.
BLANK CITY!
guard effect vertically too
1:14:40 Did he just say we're gonna get there THIS time? Meaning this wasn't their first playthrough?
We did some testing before hand to make sure we had a grasp of the rules - this was our first actual playthrough.
At 1:03 because you defeated a monster shouldn’t all the putties on that spot automatically go away?
can you guys finish the playthrough? I haven't seen any videos where madame woe gets a chance to fight
Our Shattered Grid video includes the boss fight! It should be up soon.
Where can I get those tokens? I like the plastic tokens instead of the cardboard ones
i know in at least past versions of the game you could move to the command center as a way to do a full refresh of energy and cards is that still in this final version or is it only the recover action now?
Andrew O'Hanlon it was present in the Geek & Sundry video so I would assume it’s still in the game
@@TIVIS014 yeah I would too it just wasnt brought up in this video so I wasnt entirely sure
It's still a thing! Hard to find the time to do it, but it's there.
Excited for more content, but would much rather see a single game completed before going on to more variants. All the material so far has only shown a boss being fought 2 times.
Thanks for the feedback Andrew!
How long did the total game take you??????
About an hour Ryan.
I just opened my box and all the dice are clear...there are no colored dice....are they supposed to be colored or just the kickstarter version?
Hey Pete! The colored dice we use come from the add-on Dice Pack: www.teamcovenant.com/product/ranger-dice-set-power-rangers
The base game doesn't have the tokens you have where can I find them
Hey Josh! Those are our Morphin Tokens! You can find them here: teamcovenant.com/product/morphin-token-set-power-rangers-heroes-grid-renegade
Love the video, but the title is a tad misleading this is a playthrough/tutorial not really an unboxing, in any case I love the video and can't wait for my copy to arrive with your special tokens I have pre-ordered from you guys.
Yup. I came here to see the unboxing, since nobody did it yet.
That's a fair critique for sure! We'll do a bit more of that in the next video and update the name of this one to make things more clear.
We are livestreaming the Core Set Unboxing this afternoon at 3pm CST!
Yeah sadly I will more than likely be asleep but can't wait to watch it as soon as I can.
I'm kinda bummed that you guys did a couple live streams and didn't post them later. I love watching you play games but i have no control over when i can watch.
They should be available now Darren.
How does one player work?
By picking one of the multi-player variants and using those rules. (The game has no official single player mode, and balancing one would be hard.
Why did you only draw 4 enemy cards when there are 6 enemies on the space?
I believe that they said you can only fight 4 enemies at a time when you start a fight
Regardless of the number of enemies, you only draw 4 Foot Soldier cards. So if a location gets really flooded, it takes more than one fight action to clear it.
it id to get more actions away from palyer so you cant let the sections pile up like crazy and than just use one action to kick them out, remember when i use one action to start a battle nearby players can join in for free.
Quran blue
Where is the unboxing?
We are livestreaming the real unboxing this afternoon, 3pm central time!
Why can't they make a game with all the content available in one package instead of making expansions sigh.....
That would be a huge box!
They do. Monopoly is a single box. So is Chutes and Ladders. Heroes of the Grid doesn't require the expansions to play, but most (all?) mini's games get expansions for extra replay-ability. Its just the model of such games. You can always play just the base version of the game if that is what you want to do, no expansions required.
This looks really fun, but I wish the theme was different. I’m not really a Power Rangers fan, so that would keep me from buying it.
This was designed with the Power Rangers theme in mind from the get-go.
Tommy Adams Yeah, I get that. I’m just saying Power Rangers isn’t my thing. Otherwise, I’d probably be all over it.
I didn't grow up watching the Power Rangers, was a little too old for it, but I do like the cheesy nature of it, it's like a throw back to the old Godzilla (and other Kaiju monster) movies. How can you not like Pudgy Pig as a villain? lol I ordered it thinking I might not keep it, but after watching a few play-throughs, I'm digging it.
I have told several people that it you can get past the Power Rangers name, the actual gameplay is amazing.
So this is what its come to. Give us enough $$$ for anything.
Huh? What do you mean?
What ❓ 🤔💬
