lmao that intro.
He's got the good stuff, man.
Smallest specimen might be a little dehydrated. Might want to increase the amount of substrate to retain moisture and increase humidity. Congrats on the commune!
Everyone: let's not play around too much with P. metallica, as they are some of the most venomous tarantulas.
Petko: Yaaay, five P. metallicas, let's get them out all at once!
But it was under control :'D
With all due respect. I think this will end badly. I’ve seen a lot more Poeci communals go wrong than right. That said I hope it does work out for you. Good luck
I've seen quite a few people that have very successful pokie communials, I'm not saying at all that it's easy to manage. It can be done but it's very touch and go, to what others may seem as easy as turning on a light.
@@TheDarkDen that's like what you tell your mum when you do something dangerous "but it was only a pit of 100 cobras...not a thousand"
Not to be a smart ass but they aren't venomous they are poisonous
Me: Walking in an ally.
The guy across the street in a van: 0:05
Your intro’s are getting weirder and weirder
And I love it
But also funnier !!
Was like one of those thugs you see at night time in shady alleys ways.
"Hey man... you want to buy some stuff?"
Intros* no apostrophe in plural words
Lmfao I thought the same both funny and weird XD
I dig them
Anyone but me cringing while Petko drills toward his other hand?
Came here to say this.
I yelled 'NO!' outloud
got a lot of concerned parents in the comments section. worry about your own kids.
hue hue
@@ytcensorship1401 You mad bruh?
Time check an its 4:00 am in the philippines heard the announcement and decided to stay awake, all love and support from your Filipino fans petko!
cheeers!!
Seeing that Cappuccino shirt hurt dude..... I miss the little fuzzball
Always perfect timing with my lunch break!!! 😂
I live literally in the place where these tarantulas are native.
Save the small one 😁 maybe move it to an another enclosure
Others may disagree with me (which is fine), but I'm still on the stance that a bunch of spiders in the same enclosure is not necessarily a "communal" existence just because they haven't killed each other yet. Especially if you suspect that they're competing for food. Communal organisms in nature live together because it somehow benefits their survival to be in a group. Think of a pack of wolves hunting together, or a herd of bison that travel together. They are more likely to survive and reproduce because living in groups makes them more successful, and more likely to reproduce. As you mentioned, the different growth rates could definitely be attributed to male vs. female. But if your smallest one continues to wither, then you can't define it as a communal set up.
He would probably remove that one if it seems apparent that it would need to be in order to survive. Maybe won't be as communal so to speak but still sorta.
in my opinion, no species are communal except balfouri all other species I know of have to be kept in small enclosures so they don't form territories to my knowledge balfouris don't need to be kept in a tiny enclosure to stop cannibalism they will stick together.
@@Mr.walwus there's less likely hood of cannibalism but they can still do it. It's all a hit or miss tbh:/
I agree with you %100.
I listened to a Tom Moran podcast where someone wrote in, and said that she had 5 M Balfouris and she put them in an enclosure. There was a spot where they could escape, she didn't find it til they were all gone. Then like a week or so later she was in her T room, and all 5 were found together in an empty enclosure. So, out of all the places they could go, they went together. So, that's a true communal species. I can't remember where I heard this, but I heard someone say that they have been seen sharing food too! So, while I agree with you that if kept in a small enough space, some Ts won't kill each other, but that doesn't make them a communal species. But the M Balfouris are a true communal species, in my opinion.
Why didn't he not just keep the small one in a different inclosure so he can make sure it's eatting
yeah I would’ve just downed the communal to those 4 that were doing the best
I watched a lot of your videos (good job btw), and never comment, but that intro was the best intro ever. =D And nice tarantula too !
May I suggest feeding the smaller ones in a separate container so that they can catch up with the bigger ones.
how
I actually managed to individually feed them now
@@TheDarkDen is it working so far
@@TheDarkDen that's awesome to hear! Maybe after a bit they will atleast get some big booties
This video came out exactly at the moment when I had a minor heart attack of finding mold on a cork bark of my Davus fasciata sling enclosure after coming back from work. Thank god the sling was burrowed and not anywhere near where the mold was.
Ahhh!!! Don’t EVER drill against your hand like that! You need it to take car of your 🕷! 😂😜❤️
please someone make meme versions of the intro where he pulls out various things, such as a ps5 controller
Communal setups should be given more food then there is spiders in it, because you dont have control on which spider is eating how many roaches like in keeping them separately. I think you should step up a number of roaches you feed to this setup every time other way it may end up in smaller slings dying out of hunger or even beeing eaten by bigger spiders. The more food the bigger the chances for the communal to work in a long run.
I watch your videos for so long now that I feel like you're my friend! Thanks for being yourself on the videos Petko, it makes them so much more enjoyable!
I love your introductions I live in Costa Rica and we get tarantulas in our garden, thanks to you I am less afraid.thankx
Petko the Hood T dealer out on the corner looking sketch, someone shows up thinking there gonna score something illegal and petko is just gonna be like old world or new world.
Your videos bring me such joy 😋 I just recently found you and have been binge watching your channel 😂... Its always been one of my dreams to own a communal of Avicularia avicularia love those pinkies 😍 thank you for being so informative and inspiring keep up the good work !!
Petkos sales pitch game too official he had me ready to buy whatever he was selling😂😂😂
Me too. I just yelled to my husband in the other room " I want the calendar " and he had no idea what I was talking about 🤣
The intros are always getting better 👍🏻👍🏻. Keep it up
That intro was awesome haha. I love your humor 😄
Talk about the rehousing fun when they get too big for their enclosure
Yeah lol and I'd think he may have to separate them when they sexually mature right?
If males mature faster, they get the itch faster while the girls aren't as developed and still think boys are very annoying and always want habba habba time lol
They might become meals before they're actual mating possibility?
Cause teenage girls will rip your head off, they're on fire 🔥 lol
@@iGoddess they won't mate they are siblings
@@cosmiccatnip5406 oh honey....
@@nuclearporcelain females won't be mature by the time the males are and they won't be able to so yeah they won't breed
@@cosmiccatnip5406 there have been multiple cases of eggsacs produced by sacmates in communals (you can find em on the forums and in T groups e.g. on Facebook). It is true that males mature out quicker than females, but the "biological clock" of every T is different and thus it can happen that the maturities overlap. Tom Moran said it in one of his videos/podcasts that he had males maturing out 2 years after the first mature male in his balfouri communal
Amazing vid, hilarious intro. I love those little pokies!
Lmao that bit on the intro where you fly out the Den makes me laugh 😆
Petko's new favourite word: potentially
I'm a simple guy.
I see a Dark Den-Video; I click on it
Even Better: It's about the Metallica
P. Metallica is my ABSOLUT #1 Tarantula, would be cool, if u would show Cat a bit more often. ^^
Love all of your videos i had a millipede communal but all except 1 passed, my deathstalker recently had babies and i plan on keeping 3 to raise communally all of it inspired by you!
You should think about getting new Balfouri Slings to start over the Big Communal. Seems they do their most Drastic Webbings in their Earlier Stages
Fam. Fam. I absolutely loved that beginning. I needed that laugh. Love you bro thank you for being you. And handling these beautiful yet creepy spiders.
I cant tell you how many times i have had to deal with shady spider salesman.
Was hoping to see you in fatal fangs this year.
Cool seeing this communal
Oh, i love old soundtrack of dark den, keep using it!
If I was a tarantula the thought of four flat mates would do me in. What if they don’t do the dishes when it’s their turn?
"You wanna know what these tarantulas look like? Freakin' great that's what they look like"
I still don’t have a single poecilotheira, originally the metallica was the tarantula that helped me get over my fear of spiders, i have a balfouri communal kinda thinking about a poecilotheria metallica communal now but might wait and just get a single one atm and see how your communal turns out. Great video as always! 😄 much love from Scotland 🏴
Beautiful sweet T's Petko. Tyfs God bless you
When you say certain words you sound like Christopher Walken, and I'm all for it
That entry Petko 😂😂
You were a comedian in your previous life lol
Careful using that power drill. that way that you held the cork in relation to the drill was very risky and could've easily caused an accident. Wouldn't want one of my favorite UA-camrs to get injured. Amazing video!
I just got my first old world, it’s a p. Metallica and I love it!!!
Missing a leg tho xD
Nice! My first OW was also a P. metallica, and it was also missing a leg! Turned out to be a male, matured out, and is now RIP :(
My first old world was a H.maculata (Togo starburst) I was NOT ready for how demonically fast it was, and its overall aggression. But as time went on it matured into a beautiful female who still wants to kill me lol
@@NoG-Inc. je I also thought to be ready for them.. first thing that happend was that one jumped from the table... but I got it before it could go further. I do have much more respect now.
@@NoG-Inc. Ah yes! The legendary H. mac! After a considerable amount of OW experience, I picked one up as an impulse purchase. Escaped during the first rehouse. After chasing him around for about an hour, I finally gained control over him. And named him Houdini.
@@skydragon5671 respect was given to this tarantula as a sling when it decided to jump straight out of the enclosure and run up my god damn arm!!
I can see how cramped quarters/no territory/hide would change their behavior, but, in nature, as they grow, it isn't like they get a rehousing. I would be interested to see how big they get before there are less than five.
O.O I'm surprised you use that drill with your hand behinds the thing you where putting a hole in, thats ballsy mate haha loved the video stay awesome man
Yay love the enclosure videos!
Haha. My juvenile Poecilotheria metallica bolted on me yesterday. Talk about a tense situation. Keep up the content.
Looking forward to tarantula paw Tuesday!!! I LOVE SPIDER TOES!!!
Amazingly great for a wacky Wednesday and a great weekend.
oh my wow I've been waiting fo r this update for a long while
I’m sorry I’ve watched every video you’ve done and that intro was by far the best and funniest 😂🤙🏽
what should i do when my swallowtail butterfly caterpillar hit the ground? please help me i even cried when she fell to the floor so if you help me without it i would be very grateful
Love it, Petcko!
Hi Petko, please give these guys a waterdish. In Communals the smaller ones can dehydrate easily If they cant get as much food as the others
My heart was racing when you drilled that cork bark...
like my grandma cutting an onion in her hands.
@@Almadabes Yeah, these people have hands of steel 😂 especially when the drill went through the cork bark, my heart flipped 😂
That communal living in a small space makes perfect sense Petco. God you're just a genius. Less is always more
Dark Den im scared for you, seeing you drill through and into the holding hand, take care man
Yeahyeahyeahyeah dawg, im interested in some p. Metallica communals
I didn’t realise everyone else was obsessed with tarantula paws as well! ❤️them. They were extremely well behaved, I was expecting a multi-directional bolt 😂
So this is what Mo Salah gets up to in his spare time.
Love you videos and thank you for your hard work. I'm newer to the tarantula world, curious if you use spring tales in all tarantula enclosures?
Ever EVER drill into anything when your hand is on the other side!
A pea rolled towards me and I freaked out
They all look like five little hands with five little fingers. I know there's eight but really when you can only see half the spider that looks like a hand.
Just got my p. Metallica from a local shop where the owner didn't know spiders. I just bought an adult female for $100 USD. Yes its a female for sure and she's about 5.5 inches. Absolutely beautiful. I love the Metallica videos!
@uWu ikr the guy argued with me. Said I didn't know what I was talking about lol. Their loss. Shes amazing.
We watched the intro 3 times. Fantastic.
Loved the opening to this one
My 3 year old loves your spiders' "purple" legs lol
Another AWESOME video from a fellow Invert Keeper keep up the good work
Wow Amazing Spider All In there. Love Your video learn alot on spider. as now i have my owe jumping spider..all thanks to you as i was so scare of spiders...love it .Thanks so much Dark den..
Love how he comes in all sketch lmao
That’s so new. I would have thought they would kill each other or eat the smaller one. I’ve never seen this. Very interesting
My female p.metallica sadly passed a few weeks back today because of this video, I was looking to see if I could find a female around the same size, now I'm waiting on a breeding pair from spidersworld
my 2 cents: if your enclosure was too big, add rocks or background to steal room, no?
Love the intro!
Those Ts are really pretty I normally don’t like spiders but these ones are pretty cool.
Seeing you still the cork tube while holding it in your hand gave me stress
I watched an episode of you making those. Lol I guess I've been following you for a while.
would they recognize each other as part of a "pack" or "family"? I mean, if you were to add one stranger pokie to their communal territory (since they don't have room to create their own) would they accept it?
Dude i love the wacky intros!!!!!
Yeah A tarantula can push that lid open. My T. Albo Is trying to push her plexiglass lid open so I taped it shut.
liking for intro alone
RE4 Merchant: (opens coat) "What're ya buyin? Got some rare things on sale, stranger! (player selects vid) A wise choice, mate!"
Pssssstt... Loved the intro!!
0:11 *leans in* :O
Okay that intro was hilarious 😂😂😂
Thanks for this :)
Hahaha the intro i really like it mann really nice video ( again ) 😅😂👍👍👍👍
The intro is pure gold looool
Hahaha the way u did that intro made my laugh
That intro had me giggling!!🍻
Therapist: Don't worry drug dealer Petko isn't real he can't hurt you.
Drug dealer Petko: 0:06
Wow, these are indeed huge differences in size!
Amazing. I Love it.
The intro had me in tears 😂😂
This is great video, hello from New York City queens
my first p metallica died last month T^T, but im getting a new one this week (:
btw love your videos!
I had a similar enclosure you used for my GBB and I feel so guilty damaging his web since he likes being arboreal most of the time. Old one was about 4x4x8 inches and the new now is 8x8x12. He is about 1.5 inches not counting legs, but I rather a bigger enclosure than risking him escaping.
