Ok- 70 yr young lady here again- just finished the job-new hose on-the entire process took about 5 minutes. I couldn't believe how that hacksaw-little walmart hand hacksaw--even as dull as it was-cut thru that hose fitting like butter- It was so fast-my little screwdriver lifted that fitting up-I can't believe how much frustration that has caused me and took care of it so fast-again-Huge Thanks!

Worked perfectly and a lot easier to cut through the hose connector with the hacksaw than I thought it would be. Thanks!

I went to Harbor Freight and bought a small hacksaw, borrowed a flat head screwdriver, and it worked!!! Thanks Mike, you are a genius! I wish I would have found this 2 years ago!

Thank you so much--70 yr young lady here-Bought a new 100ft hose last night to reach my pig Daisy's water bowl and found that old hose stuck. You are so much help-changing out that hose as soon as I find my hacksaw and plumbers tape. Keep up the GOOD work. God Bless you Hon!

Add another septuagenarian to the list of women you've helped. The first time I went to the hardware store for a hacksaw, the fellow I asked to point me to them asked me what it was for. He said "Oh no, you'll damage the faucet, you need this type of wrench." I bought the wrench, went home and tried it and couldn't get it to work, so I went back to the hardware store the next week and he showed me how I should use it. It still didn't work. Another week later week I returned the wrench and bought a hacksaw. I watched your video one more time and voila! As of today I'm no longer watering all the plants in my yard with a watering can. Thank you!

Yes, yes! Believe me, I tried all my tools, plumbing pliers, wrenches, channel lock pliers, oils, liquids, but the problem is: you will actually break the faucet off of your house: if you use the strength that it would take. The hacksaw was my favorite discovery!

I went through the same frustrating steps and before doing something expensive and stupid I found this neat hack (pardon the pun) on your channel. So after watching this, I grabbed my hacksaw, a screwdriver and less than 5 minutes later my spigot was free from the crusted hose attachment that had been there for quite some time. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

The root cause of this is the manufacturers putting aluminum fittings on the hose. They are cheaper than brass, but they set up galvanic corrosion when in contact with the brass hose bibbs. The Teflon tape becomes essential. Also, you can remove the hose from the faucet after every use. But who does that consistently?

2:08 this is still a useful and good video, although you can clearly see in the video the line mark where the faucet was cut is damaged from the cutting. That is a risk of this method so people doing this should be aware they will likely make such damage even though the faucet will still likely still be useable afterward

Oddly enough, her assessment is a bit off.
