Chinese Railways - JS Steam Locomotive

- On the edge of the massive spoil dump, shortly before rail operations ceased. JS 6209 was found on the outer edge most track unloading her train of eleven side dump hoppers before departing with lots of steam, wheelslip and noise. This place was pure magic for hard working steam locomotives and something the world will never witness again.
15 November 2013 - Sandaoling, Xinjiang province, China

Those are some mean wheelslips. Those JS steam locomotives on the Shandaoling have lot's of wheelslipping. Seems like they're having to pull hard with those huge coal trains.
They do work very hard with heavy trains. The wheelslip happened very frequently when the spoil dump was still rail served as they spent around 20 minutes or so unloading. The amount of water that would build up on the rails during this process provided spectacular results!
great video. i couldn't tell if it was filmed in black and white or color.
What an art to be able to handle these giants so well.
Pro tip : watch movies at flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Prince Francis yea, I have been using Flixzone for since december myself =)
@Prince Francis Definitely, been using flixzone for since november myself =)
I have seen many similar videos. And I still can't understand why the Chinese never installed sand blowers on their JS and their QJ.
7:37 Why does the freight wagon at the end of the train have a cab on its rear?
Hello. all of the spoil trains and coal trains in Sandaoling spend just as much time going forwards as they do in reverse as there are no (or impractical) turning facilities. The cab hoppers have a seat for a guard as well as a roof mounted semaphore (with lights) signal to give instructions to the driver.
chinesemodeltrains.com Thanks for telling me
it's called a freight car not a freight wagon
@@petesoebekti2022 depends where your from, it’s a wagon in England but everywhere else it seems to be a car
