      Koreans: we’re gonna eat it at noon on the hottest day of summer in an uncovered farm. Also we’re gonna serve it in a rock bowl made of lava so the soup never cools down.

    It reminds me of the French dish, chicken pot-au-feu, which is really delicious. It has the same kind of medical feeling to it. I definitely want to try this version.

    There was a place in NYC's Koreatown that I use to get this at, but it's closed. Where are people getting their Samgye tang in NYC? I've had the one at Five Sense, but it wasn't the same.

    This is literally something the Chinese have been making for centuries, essentially the exact dish. I am all for cultural merges (especially when it comes to food), but I would like to see Eater pay a little attention to Chinese food and maybe give some shoutout to the Chinese. So much of the Asian food Eater has featured originated from China/are heavily influenced by a similar Chinese dish. Even majority of the ingredients from this dish originated from China.

      this is why i hate chineses, They always look into other Asian countries tht way. They always say those r orginated from China but no respect to other asian countries' culture. Yeah you r right. For example, all asian countries languages near china based from Ganji which is chinese language. but r u gonna say chinese 'ganji' made all languages of near countries'? Im sick of it. Chinese loves to say All those r orginated from china not just only food such as culture clothes constructions politics. They don't know respect to others own asian culture developed own way. and They think chineses are the best country and human beings in the world and also china teaches children like this truly. not a surprise at all why they think like tht way.

    • @minseok920
      @minseok920 6 років тому +4

      and they also say ravioli is originated from chinese dumpling. wht a surprise~~~

      Well its one of the oldest civilizations with a large swath of land with different climates while also experiencing years of peace, prosperity, and trade. So yeah they made a lot of stuff and had more innovations. There's nothing wrong with knowing where the roots come from. Vietnamese people openly accept that the pho noodle derived from a rice noodle from the Yunan province. Not a big deal. Its like saying Latin and other languages greatly affected/shaped the English language.
      Korea is literally connected to mainland China, its not hard to believe that a dish from China is also shared with Korea. Even today the region where North Korea is connected to China shares a lot of dishes.
      Like it or not one of the most stable, oldest, and prosperous areas in history is probably going to have the most development.

    • @nukie404
      @nukie404 6 років тому

      I suppose it'll be too difficult to delve into what dish came from where and how it developed differently in different provinces/countries etc. within such a short time frame but, on the hand I suppose it could also be done if they were given more time per episode. Also, I could also claim the dish was introduced to China from Korea? I mean, point me in the direction of sources if there are any but yeah.
      On a slightly different note, I would love to see a series where they delve in to the cuisine of all the different regions in China, describing the differences and introduce us to some of the best places around.
