Literally didnt know you got a busa until yesterday. At which point I scrolled back through the channel until I found the first video and continued to bunch watch every video that it was in until today.
I liked the "top gear" style of this video. However your comparisons left out one key metric that is very relevant for any street bike, COMFORT. Go on a three hour ride with the R1 and tell me your aren't saddle sore afterwords. If the seat is anything like other liter bikes, it's barely better then sitting on a 2x4. The Busa on the other hand, is very comfortable compared to other sportbikes. The seat is nice and large with lots of cushion. Same goes for the passenger seat for those of us that like to bring girlfriends. More of an upright riding position while retaining the ability to tuck in when needed. Furthermore, you'd have to be mentally handicapped to think that roll-on test was any good. Gearing and power bands are way different on both of those bikes. You can look at the footage and clearly see the Busa starts off at like 3700rpm... Are you kidding me? You can talk about torqe all you want, but the Busa is still meant to make it's power at rpm ranges way higher then that. Next time, go out in the country and do a pull with both bikes from 60mph. Put both bikes as close to their power bands as possible with regards to gearing. Then compare them that way. But I can tell by the way you guys ride those that you are both obviously still afraid of them. That kind of power needs to be respected for sure. But if your afraid of them, you need to ride them more and experiment with the power until your comfortable handling the bike... Bottom line, they are both amazing machines. The Busa (zx-14's and the like) are still king of the street. They have the comfort, the speed, the stability. You shouldn't be trying to push corners on public streets anyways because it's a good way to die to general road debris or other drivers. Liter bikes are still king of the track and the corners at the expense of comfort and ride time. No surprise
I have gotten off my Busa and on a liter bike, and felt like I was perched up on top of the handlebars, like a monkey fucking a football... I've spent all day on the Busa, can't even imagine that on a liter bike... 😳
The Busa is shaky and rattly" what the heck? I've been on a Busa at 140! and no shaky and rattling! Something is something wrong with your Busa bro! Sorry, but I'll take the Busa all day long! Let's see the Busa can do 200Mph and the R1 can do what 210mph? You'll never hit those speeds without and airplane strip. 99% of us are riding in the streets and need the comfort and enough speed to get out of situations. The Busa is great at those things and then some.
If yammie was on the busa the outcome would've been different. How do you get gapped that hard when you're putting out 114 tq on the busa and 86tq on the r1 on a 4th gear roll at such low speeds?
Absolutely right if Yam was on the falcon. You DONT EVER get gapped like that(even against an H2) UNLESS u were in 5 or 6 AAAAAND sandbagging. I promise I speak from experience w both bikes. When ginger said" it just doesn't want to accelerate" they lost all credibility. Love that u had lb/ft numbers which would make what was portrayed literally impossible physics.
Gear ratios are a multiplier of torque. R1 revs much higher than the Busa so can use lower gearing. Fourth gear of Busa is around 25% higher than R1 fourth gear. R1 is also approx 40-50kg lighter. Also first gen Busa made 102 ft/lb at crank. It's obvious which would win.
I have both bikes, albeit in Bimmer flavor: the K1300S and the new S1000RR M sport. The K, like the Busa, is a 1300cc torque monster with about 175 hp. It differs from the Busa with the usual BMW refinements and features, but is about the same speed. But the K1300S doesn’t compare to the RR in terms of speed and handling. The RR is so much faster, not only infinitely more flickable in the corners, but also way faster in the straights. The electronics on the RR and its numerous luxury features make it a great daily rider. The posture suffering gradually evaporates as it makes you fitter over several months. I don’t do redlined WOT on the RR on the street. It’s scary fast and will have you well over 150 under ten secs. I take my RR to the track a few times a year (COTA again in July) and also do CSS camps a couple days a year on theirs.
I remember in 1999 getting a Busa in that Iconic Copper color and going to the drag strip. The dyno on it was 156hp which is almost tame by today's standards and I couldn't keep up with the super sports worth a damn on the twisties just waiting for the next straight was enough.

Another great video guys. Just my own line of thought is if a person just wants a beast with lots of bottom end torque that they can ride in high gear at 40 MPH through town and then just roll it on as you leave without it complaining you buy the Busa, ... but if you want something to go out on the tail of the dragon with friends and play for the afternoon the R1 would be hard to beat. As a person ages something heavier and more comfortable seems more important, ... and as a retiree if I could buy either brand new I'd choose the Hayabusa. Mind you if I was 20 I'd buy the Yamaha. ;)

The presence of Yeet energy was very high in this video....
Great format for the video...
You don't buy r1 for comfort
So irrelevant
Best comment I've seen so far. Couldn't have said it any better.
@@sule.A be that as it may, when doing a comparison, comfort must be touched on.
I’ve run my Busa to the rev limiter, 186 mph, and it’s smooth. These guys are a joke or salesmen for Yamaha.
I don't know how I feel about the wanna be Top Gear editing. I like the more casual DIY style of the channel, that's why I subbed.
Love this voiceover - it's closer and LOUDER yet not screammmy :)
Different story if the bloke on the Hayabusa didn't back off
Where in Austin are yall at around the 15:00 mark?
Awesome vid - had the ring of an F9 documentary. Possible future collaboration?
I remember in 1999 getting a Busa in that Iconic Copper color and going to the drag strip. The dyno on it was 156hp which is almost tame by today's standards and I couldn't keep up with the super sports worth a damn on the twisties just waiting for the next straight was enough.
Yamaha is a good company but the 2015+R1 is Yamahas Edsel (lemon) THOUSANDS OF R1 HAVE BLOWN ENGINES AND TRANSMISSIONS. There have been SO many engines/transmissions fail that after the 2nd engine/transmission blown Yamaha has been giving customers there money back.
That was a fire intro! Great vid, the Busa is legendary but time always wins
The smoke and dim lighting at the end makes me want one that much more.
Doesn't matter which one, all these bikes are gonna get walked by the new CBR RR-R Fireblade. 😎
Thats a lotta R's! That gotta be fast!
Hahahaha 😂😂🤣😆...ah. no!
@@busalove2013 ah.. Yes! 300km/h in 3rd gear.
lmao!! "you can feel the barometric pressure drop as a storm of power gathers underneath you"!!! thats some pulp novel worthy stuff right there!
I see some Fortnine influence! great video mate !!!!
"Hourses for courses" I'll stick with me Busa 😎
Never seen Yammie Noob sounding so professional :-)
Now put the Busa up against a 78' Yamaha
Lol right
Hey @yammie noob you should do a video about what cars you like based on the bike brand you love.
WoW they are both awesome machines, you are both well Experienced riders to be handling the power of ,surely ,two of the fastest motorbike's made up to date, they would frighten the life out of me ,thank you for your Excellent tips ,advice & videos & happy riding friend 🙂🙂🙂
Lmao kneecaps the Busa with a 4th gear roll. I wanna see a real heads up.
"Vulgar Display of Power," thanks Spite for reminding me of my favorite Pantera release, think I'll go have a listen.
Mind you if I was 20 I'd buy the Yamaha. ;)
Jesse from Delaware here Suzuki man just got through putting a 600 through a guardrail at 70 luckily I put my knee on the seat and rolled into the grass should I just have a broken wrist and the flayed rear shoulder blade and Temple I'll be back on her in a week but to answer your question we like to 500 lb Beast we like old tuna he said he was going to be just something about grabbing a hold of that monster straightening her out and letting her take you for a flight you'll never forget staring straight down the barrel it's absolutely fascinating and no one will ever touch Suzuki's engineering the world should have learned this long ago just like the car manufacturers will never touch Mercedes mannequin try and replace convenience for quality and groundbreaking innovation that will never be replicated in a better way there's only been three of these inventions that I can remember ever in history that came out the best the first time this izuki GSXR series is one of the three any changes they make to this can only hurt it the best bike and human could create is the Hayabusa that's my humble opinion from Delaware 1488 anybody have a good medium helmet? LOL I had to ditch my when I escaped from the hospital during covid-19 f*** that I wasn't hanging around I literally had to escape LOL then the cops called me and said man you didn't have to do all that you weren't in trouble the things concussions can do to us LMAO but yeah I have my backpack my helmet and scrubs on with a bruise to heal broken ribs and wrist so needless to say I ended up sacrificing the helmet it was slowing me down so it's in the woods somewhere between here and there LOL all that for nothing it's a f****** cool story though and those words of the great John Doe I regret nothing
I'm not entirely sure these bikes should be compared. One is a race track bike slightly calmed down for use on public roads, the other is a much heavier but comfier drag bike meant to demonlish the highway.
Production values on fleek 👍
This review is based on your abilities! No disrespect just fact. Why not have pro racers test them fairly. So we can see real results.
I suspect Spite didn't fully open the throttle. Sorry Spite :/
Cmon guys .. is nobody gonna talk about the production in this video papa yam has done..
CEO of making a super dramatic intro about motorcycles
Can u do a video on the monster or ducati bikes. I want to get a monster 797 but there's aren't many good videos on it
So everyone knows driving a Busa is not the same as the ZX14 since the two are often compared, the ZX14 is still dated but not what the Busa is
This video should be very different if you traded the Busa for a recent ZX14
I’ve walked from R1’s on my ZX14R after about 120. Pretty much neck to neck up to 120. Then the 14 will pull away.
Mike Anthony yea I’ve seen it myself but the r1m is much closer
I like the Pantera reference man!!
There have been times that I've broke the back tire loose on the Busa whether it be unseen water or gravel on the road. As the bike starts to drift sideways under power it's analog capabilities allow me to harness it's power and throttle down back into a straight line every time (with a little kick at the end).
No one else notice the fart at 7:03? Damn that’s a good mic setup they got 😂
The first five minutes reminded me of Top Gear. I like it.
not gonna lie, got some old Ari and Zack video vibes. I dig it!!!!
and i'm so glad you got new pants Spite, I can finally rest easy knowing that poor knee isn't exposed.
Yammie I'm a new youtuber and I'd appreciate so much if you could answer something for me, where and how do you get the images and videos you use in your videos? You'll be talking about a bike and show pictures of said bike sometimes. How?
The busa still has a place for people who ride sportbikes 2up. That low end and extra size help handle the greater weight of a passenger.
This channel is like home for me
