Thank you very much for these videos! It really helped me A LOT for repairing the transmission on my gen 2 FZ1.
Ive been watching a few of your videos, and as an avid home mechanic myself, though your videos aren't technical by any means, just seeing how one person does things first person is the worlds help speeding up the process. I appreciate the hell outta you, you may not have a ton of viewers and subscribers yet, but I hope you continue to spread what should be common knowledge of all is riders and enthusiasts. Lean on your trusted professional mechanic as needed lol.
i have to do this soon - gonna have to watch all these videos a few times before i do though - thanks for making them - u da shit man
Semi-pro tip; if you're not worried about ink residue, you can use a fine tipped felt pen to draw out on the case where your gasket needs to be laid. That way you can erase and correct the ink letting you get one continuous (as possible) bead of gasket.
Love your videos gypsy man ...
U are an official technician gypsyman
yungoldhead215 wow, what an awesome compliment . Thank you
:O very very good!!! saludos desde Peru, yo tambien tengo una r1 2006 :D
Could you tell me what gaskets i need to do this please? Like the entire kit is 300+ dollars.
How did you get the main shaft to slide out of the side? I can't get mine to pop out.
Thanks
You have to find bolts to put into threaded holes, 6mm I think.
Tighten them up evenly and the lower gears will come right out😎
@@djtiggerho0420 thanks. You can just use the same screws that hold it in place.
where did you buy your gaskets?
Victor Lugo I buy all my OEM parts from Ronayers.com
Gypsyman Racing thanks man love the vid. Im doing a transmission rebuild on my 04 yzf r6. Any tips?
Victor Lugo make sure you find a good transmission on ebay. Look at the pics carefully. Torque everything. Buy Yama bond (gray). Take your time and use good tools.
Gypsyman Racing fantastic thanks man! If i have any more questions ill comment.
Is there a need to take out the magnet to get into the gearbox ?
Mateusz yes, because you have to get under it to split the case
Thank you for the quick reply. Did you use this toolPivot Shaft Wrench 90890-0151 to removal and installing the engine ?
Mateusz no... You don't need that special tool to remove the engine. It was as simple as using a jack to support the engine, take off bolts and pinch bolt. The engine will slide right out.
I forgot tell I have FZ8 fazer 2010
Mateusz Yamaha's are all the same basically
Are you doing this for free for your friend?
The Muffin Man nothing in life worth having is free. With that said, I didn't charge him because he is my brother. And, it gave me the opportunity to spread my wings.
