This lore about the infected going into a kind of suspended animation and all being connected is my favourite change from the game.
That's about the only change I like in the show.
There's so much padding, like with Kathleen and her crew.

@@theyouth2000 best example was the scene where Ellie is locked in the cage having the conversation with the cannibal pedophile. In the video game, that scene is 4 minutes, 30 seconds long. In the TV show that exact same scene, with the same dialogue, is 9 minutes. The scene is 10x better in the game, and very weak in the show.
Honestly this show had 3 phenomenal episodes, two okayish episodes, and 4 of the worst episodes of television I watched that year.
@@ajbdblin I think they got rid of the airborn factor so that actors didn't need to walk around with masks a lot of the time.
The infected connected and squirming in the sun creeped the hell out of me.
It's even more horrifying to consider those were once people who had jobs and families and hopes and dreams and this was their fate.

This change actually makes the infected scarier. It means the infected can live longer and is connected.

@@efaristi9737 My impression is that the fungus is just like one organism in the show. They are connected and share consciousness. Like the Borg in Star Trek. They don't wither off and die like in the game if left alone for too long. They seek out other infected and become part of the collective.

I almost didn't recognize Anna Torv. I haven't seen her in anything since, "Fringe". She's so talented!
Fringe is one of those shows where I wanna rewatch it but the ratio of "love this moment" to "oh my god this is stupid" is so lopsided, I just can't.

@@BullofCreteAlso, kind of hard to rewatch and enjoy it when you know every twist. I’ve attempted a rewatch several times, but I’ve never made it past season 4. Maybe I’m subconsciously trying to avoid season 5 at all costs.

That look Joel gives Ellie at 0:50, I'm probably reading too much into it, but I wonder if he's starting to become slightly aware that this girl reminds him of a certain someone. Roughly the same age, vulnerable, needs protecting. He probably wants to deliver her as soon as possible, put her out of his mind and move on.
Joel's daughter's entire purpose was to make it so that Joel and Ellie hanging out together wasn't creepy because Ellie could be the surrogate daughter.

Moi je ne connais pas du tout le jeu et j ai beaucoup aime la série. Le casting est très bien et je deplore tous les commentaires minables sur le choix de bella qui n aurait pas un physique rentrant dans le moule des starlettes à 2 balles complètement superficielles.les acteurs sont excellents. Je les ai découvert dans GOT et leur jeu est très bon vivement la suite. LTLOU❤❤❤❤

Its tough watching this Joel. See, we all know each of us would be broken after going through the same stuff, thats why Joel in the games was awesome, yet still a defeated man. We want the stereotype, and don't gaf about repping real life squishy feels. Hell, i cry more than any man i know of and i don't want to see a weakend, sensitive, kinda slow male lead just to feel acknowledged, like a narc 😂 screw this industry in its current state.
