I like these two. They are old enough to be comfortable with the situation. It feels like they've lived their lives and cant be intimidated like those who have more left to live for can be.
IT's not just that. They've already pegged Joel as not evil cuz he would have shot him before he got in the door and the old woman would have been beat up or dead already .
@@catherinesanchez1185yeah if he were a robber or a murderer he’d have robbed and murdered them already, and also Ellie definitely softens their perception of him, they clearly have way too much banter and she’s way too talky for her to be a hostage or a victim of him.
@@Lillie-y7s This. Traveling with women and children historically have always been a good sign of good will.
@@catherinesanchez1185 and joel has ellie with him
@@catherinesanchez1185 well he needed information and the ways to check information, but I guess he knows that his wife has a good sense of someone's character (not like Joel isn't cold blooded killer as well, but he needs a reason)
“If you got a map, why ya lost?”-Rainfall
"Must have missed all the street signs in the enormous fucking forest."- Hilda
"I'm afraid:" - Arthur Morgan
@@comet3969 Heheheeh, that was such a perfect joke. It’s the same kind of joke older men use that they think is hilarious… and well, we do too. When ‘re not the recipients.
If it’s the end of the world and everybody’s rationing food, how are you still fat?
He sound exactly like Rains Fall.
Everything the couple said is quoteable- but I loved- "you made them soup?"
"Yeah"
Yeah, it's cold out. That lady is a good hostess.
I could watch a WHOLE series with those two, Graham Greene and Elaine Miles. Such great comedic timing and presence.
Two great American B actors. Him I know. Her? I know the voice. Looking her up now. That’s how good she is! I know I know her, but I don’t know her name! Any great character actor takes that as a compliment.
@@pedroiarulesin the wider view of all the actors in Hollywood they’re definitely considered B actors but many is us Native American Graham Green is as A list as they get lol
@@taylercyr7648 oh. No doubt. GG is the Deniro of the indigenous.
@@taylercyr7648he is definitely one of the most famous Natives in the US lmao dudes everywhere but I love when I'm watching a TV show or movie and he pops up, always a treat
I know she was in a sitcom in the 90s called Northern Exposure and he was Kicking Bird in Dances with wolves
“Who’s this little psycho.” 😂😂
“You tell him the truth?”
-yeah
“Are you telling me the truth?”
-yeah
straight to the point and honest and also telling. Love it.
if i were him i say " then why bother asking me ? "
“Joel, c’mon they’re like a thousand” 😂
“Who’s this little psycho?”
Probably the richest people in the world at this point
Yea tbh good house, food, fireplace and company

Koko and Medo 🥰
I loved this scene. It reminds me of my grandparents sarcastic conversations they have with one another. My grandpa always pointing out the obvious and my grandma replying back with a “no shit” type of reply. These two have been together forever. I wish I could have their life when I get older.
Can u tell us a funny exhange between your grandparents that u remember?
"Hold on Joel. Let's pick some ginseng here." - Rains Fall
OMG 🤣🤣🤣
Joel: I had a daughter once. She pas...
Rains Fall: Wait. I need to pick up some english mace.
I'm like whys his voice so damned familiar!? Lmao
"He didn't shoot me"
"I have eyes"
Just the exact old couple conversation.
"You make them soup!?"
"Its cold out there"
Its just the perfect old couple conversation. Their giggles is the perfect synchronized old couple taste of humor. Forget Romeo and Juliet, these two is the cutest couple for me.
Natives are the bomb. Really chill people from my experience.
I recognized his voice and its rainfall
no thats 2 dogs fuckin
You just broke my brain
@@dyermaker4731 he meant Rains Fall, it's the name of a character from red dead 2
I wondered why he sounded so familiar
Oh my gosh I’ve seen this actor soo many times and just finished rdr 2 this is wild 😭
1:25 you can hear and see Pedro cracking up at this line/delivery. Hilarious!
That was the woman my guy

“You can’t scare us.”
“Scared him.”
Man oh man! To have been in the world for 20 years like this and to still have things scare you like it did with Joel right in that moment must be crazy. Joel mentioned in earlier episodes that he’s been in both sides of a good and bad situation involving the innocent. To know what’s going through his head in that moment must be heart wrenching.
I mean Joel wasn’t scared for himself, he was scared for Tommy
Or scared for Ellie
These two haven’t considered giving a flying fiddlers damn since 1972
The world ended, no more taxes, and no more Bernie Sanders asking for donations. I’d be kicked back on my recliner chair, too.
I loved these two in "Wind River" with Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen
do they act together regularly?
I knew I recognized him from somewhere!
Plays Rains Fall in RDR2 as well. Graham Greene is super talented
Very Rez thing to do, Giving soup to guest in your home lmao. Great auntie actor
I really liked how they used this scene in the trailer for the season. The "scared him" line especially.
One thing that I noticed at the beginning of the clip is that when the husband came inside, he looked at his wife, whose eyes turned in the direction of where Joel was hiding. He immediately took that in without question, having been told without words that there was an intruder in their home.
Ngl love how more and more natives are showing up on tv
“The guns all the way over there.”😂
Love the near immediate follow up that she got up and made soup.
They need their own show. 😂
They had it. Northern Exposure.
Graham Greene is a national treasure. Dances with Wolves, Red Dead Redemption 2, the Green Mile.
Wind River as well! Genuinely a great actor.
"Who's this little psycho?" LOL
Couple goals
Graham Greene & Elaine Miles, two legendary actors in Native American films. They’ve been in some of my favorites like Smoke Signals & Skins.
To this day it’s amazing that ‘howaH’ was said on a tv show.
How you doin cousins?
my dad was giggling and smiling like a schoolgirl when he heard that
Hahaha yeah that part got me good.
I had a half a conniption ngl, after saying it so much it’s hilarious to see howah on the ‘big’ screen.
What does that mean please.😊
@@vickiwest7027 it’s native lingo for like ‘holy!’ or something similar, basically you’d say it like you would a calm ‘wow’.
But, on the other hand, you could be watching your cousin fighting off the 9 month old husky puppy your half-ret*rded neighbour decided to get and go ‘howah’ immediately.
That’s that good Indigenous Hospitality right there, especially the hot soup for visitors!! ❤
I love Graham Greene, you don't see him in big parts too often but his characters are always rather memorable. His finest hour in my eyes was as Arlen "Chief" Bitterbuck in "the Green Mile"
Best advice for heading West is to start going North and real quick like turn left....
That's where Fort William Henry is, not that safe to me...
"you made them soup?"
"Yeaaa i did"
Graham Greene is such a treasure
This was actually completely unscripted. Pedro Pascal had a hankering for soup and smelled it, happening upon the home of an ordinary Indigenous couple. The directors loved it so much they added it to the show.
I love this scene, such a good little addition.
These two folks perfectly display why I love old folks.
The funniest characters of Season 1.
Most true to life depiction of Native American Elders I think I've ever seen 😂
this old guy roasts joel to hell and back lol
"you got a map why are ya lost?"
Even in the apocalypse, us natives still joke around
No wonder the old man's voice sounded familiar. He voiced Rains fall on RDR2
I’m glad Joel and Ellie didn’t kill the old couple. But, it matters a fact they telling the truth about the area. Hopefully willing to take find his brother.
Why would they kill them? You little psychopath
These two are a substitute for Ellie and Bills banter. The show took that away but gave us this banter. I liked it BUT!!! I wanted to see the OG story imo
Natives always can tell the truth and still laugh about it.
Is the woman the same one in Northern Exposure? She's great.
Both were in the show. She was played Marilyn and he was ALSO in the show as a guest for a few episodes. Nice reunion.
He was in Dances with Wolves
@@margaretslaughter8320 He was also on the Red Green show a lot, playing explosives 'expert' Edgar Montrose. During one episode, Edgar was asked about the movie Dances With Wolves. His response: I saw that one. You know, the native guy was okay, he should have got the Oscar.
@@rjgoniea”But the rest of it, was a yawn.”
This scene was product of fantastic writing.
I hate that, that is the only bow in this series.
Those two were cast members on Northern Exposure. I was SO HAPPY to see them!! I loved that show so much!
You tell him the truth?
You telling ME the truth?
Lol
“Have you heard of the Fireflies?”
“we get them in the summer”
Ah, Marilyn. Scared him, lol!
"hooolleee" 😂😂
"You're not gonna scare us." Said Ellie, who thought she had seen the worst of it.
Fun fact the native man in this clip voiced the chief leader Eagle Flies in rdr2
I wanted the Northern Exposure theme song to play at the end of the clip. lol
"Who's this little psycho?" Had me cracking up.
Elaine Miles and Graham Green both from Northern Exposure 1990-96 :)
"I Hope you find peace" - Rains Fall
'You made him soup?'
'It's cold out.'
That old lady doesn't know the meaning of 'being rattled'. This dude points a gun in my face and threatens my life and my husbands. Still, it is cold out, so he's gonna want some hot soup.
often come back to this scene simply because it reminds me of my grandparents and people in my community. 100% accurate portrayal of us indians!
lol these two are exactly like MY parents(RIP), just with a little less snark, and a little more indifference-- yet still horribly helpful and caring. 😂❤
Today I realized this is Rains Fall. What an awesome guy in both mediums
Just don’t let Graham Greene get near the dynamite! 😂
Theyre the Grandparents of the apocalypse
These two need their own show!
Great to see Elaine Miles. Brought tears to my eyes. Marilyn Whirlwind.
Got an ad for a site selling Cordyceps as food before watching this.....
“Firefly people?” 😂, I love how we American Indians make fun of the stupid names people make for themselves.
These two are so carefree😂
Elaine Miles was awesome in "Northern Exposure". And I also remember Graham Greene's guest starring as a shaman.
Funny - they were both on the show Northern Exposure. Graham Greene was Leonard Quinhagak. Elaine Miles played Marylin Whirlwind (Dr. Joel Fleishman's secretary). Fun to seem them both back in their element.
What a perfect scene, great writing acting is solid. Love it❤
one of the best, funniest scenes in the entire season. 😆😅 hell, if they had a spinoff of them in this same environment, i'd watch the fuk outta it!!!!!! 😉 "THE GUNS ALL THE WAY OVER THERE!!!!!!!"🤣🙏😂
As a Canadian whose been to the Yukon, these people arn't even actors. It's just every random old Inuit couple. They're fantastic and I honestly have never met a people who couldn't give less of a shit.
I love Indian humor. They talk like my aunties 😂
"We must have missed all the street signs in the enormous fucking forrest" 😂😂
Graham Greene, the voice of Chief Rains Fall from Red Dead Redemption 2!
Both native actors are excellent, ftom Northern Exposure & Dances With Wolves.
Love how all of us American Indian people who grew up on Indian reservations completely understand these people's desire to disappear into the forest alone. Life is hard on Indian reservations, if you survive, sometimes you just want to get away and stay away, even with the "straightforward" humor and "did YOU tell him the truth?" bc you get tired of the lies and gossip lol
"If we die, we die" Ahh couple
Love Graham Greene in anything. ❤
Canadian icons ❤❤
The way they don't give a fuck was hilarious
i wanna see the time joel and ellie came in to the house and encountered this lovely soup lady
That wife is my new favorite. Ever. Out of everyone.
So this is where Rains Fall ended up after they left Waipiti!
I love this scene
These two humiliated Joel and Ellie and I love it.
HOOOOLEH!!
One of my favourite scenes In The show lol
Ok campers... shades of my favorite two best actors from "Northern Exposer"
I hope for some reason we see them again, even though it probably wouldn't make sense.
It’s not that far from Tommy’s camp
I just have 0 clue the direction of the show right now. I've never played the game @@josh3.064
Always loved them laughing at "firefly people"
This old woman is such a vibe
I remember the Indian woman from Northern Exposure, a sitcom years back.
I remember the native lady from Northern Exposure.
The man sounds exactly like rains fall in Read Dead Redemption 2.
its him
For at least 10 years that man ran the "I told you so" narrative until eventually his wife started winning the "I never wanted to move out here" narrative again!
Omg!!! Marilyn!!!
