Grenades do explode but they can't start fires. The whole point of what makes grenades dangerous is the metal shrapnel that flies in every direction after they pop. They don't create sparks or fire that would ignite the fuel.
I haven’t seen the series but the clips have been awesome. Nice to finally see Joel with a proper apocalypse rifle.
The tv series is not as good as the game, it falls short, id give it a solid but uninspired 7/10, alot of the game-journey is missed out, the threat level is just not there, they tones down the violence too and Bella Ramsay doesn't 100 % convince as Ellie, a VERY important role, there is some good stuff but there's also waste like the full hour episode on frank and his bf that was only touched upon in the game, it doesn't have the sense of a grueling journey to me...shame really.
@@pikeflowed100% agree. The show falls short of the game in nearly every way. Tho I’d argue that the show has given the virus more depth with the hive-mind aspect. I also hate the lack of action and spectacle as well as the minimizing of Joel in terms of his physical capabilities. But I think we all saw that coming..
Tess was the strongest of them all. Sorry to say Joel backed away. But he did listen to her and grabbed Ellie. Ellie did not want to leave her regardless. So very sad. At least she closed her eyes. Excellent acting.

No, not entirely in its expression though, mostly the words are there but not all. Where was the heart-rending part where Tess walks up to Joel and signals their bond/love for each other ? " Joel, there must be enough here..." and Tess encircles their love in a space between them with her hands, its scandalous they didn't include this in the tv series. Unforgivable.
This is the moment Tess killed Joel by dying herself.

Wasn’t a kiss, in the show this is how they speed up the process. The tendrils are connecting to the fungus and speeding up the infection
It's a scene that is meant to make you feel unsettled and your whole humanity violated. The fact that you had such a visceral reaction to it shows it was not only "without reason" but also very well executed lol

It was meant to speed up the process. The farther away the bite is from the brain the more time it will take for the person to become fully infected. In the hbo podcast, I remember hearing that the infected won’t attack you if you don’t resist but if you do they will pursue until you’re infected

If you really want to get the weight of this scene, as well as the rest of them, you really need to play the game and it's original quality with headphones on. This scene was excellent, but compared to seeing it in the game the first time...I guess ya had to be there.

This comment was sent 3 weeks ago but I’m here to answer it, if you don’t know yet, the infected “kissed” her in order to spread the virus, it didn’t attack her because it knew that she was already infected, it wanted to make it even more official, you can see the infection in the zombie’s mouth go into her’s, and you can hear her chocking, which is the virus going into her system
the fungus controlling the infected man can sense the fungus in tess thats growing since shes infected, connecting to each other to finish the infection like hive mind. when joel shot that guy on the floor the fungus alerted all the other infected around the area too

Having played the game before seeing the show, the show just doesn't have the same impact the game did. Feels really underwhelming by comparison. Maybe it feels the opposite if you see the show before playing the game?

@@legendg219heh, not really imo. I’m replaying the game for my millionth time at this point. And I still think the first episode, second are way better for Tess, Sarah and Joel. It adds more character and story and emotion. The hive mind stuff would’ve been way better and harder which is why I think the first half of the game is better. The third episode I highly would’ve preferred for a game to be the school part but for a show, the bill episode is so much better in every way. The fourth episode (I believe was them crossing town, haven’t watched in awhile) was so much more emotional compared to the og. Where they get ambushed and that’s when he has to get saved. And the man calling for his mom really hits in the heart. The next few episodes were similar but the bloater scene is so much crazier and better. And then the next few are the same. Left Behind being an episode makes alot of sense tooZ

I’m sorry but they really overdid the cordyceps fungus in this. Now I’m no expert on fungus but this seems more akin to the flood infection from Halo than the cordyceps from the game. It’s just ridiculous

I don’t like that they change the story in the show. A lot. Not saying it’s a bad show, but definitely not what I was expecting.
Man as someone who played the first game, I hated the whole kiss thing. So freaking weird and non canonical.
This show had so much promise. Not alot of infection action and episode three was a love story. Think they could've condensed it down into half the episodes. Beginning was good then it got boring. Mostly them fighting each other.

And fwiw I think you're wrong. The series is peak television. One of the best series to come out ever, up there with Arcane and Breaking Bad.
I think it suffered from poor pacing and it should have elaborated more on the infected of this world since they clearly are biologically and behaviorally different than the ones in the game. Interested to see how they handle a second season
I didn’t like this change. They claim they did it this way to show the infected aren’t violent if you stand still and don’t resist. But this is a huge contradiction.
There were multiple scenes where someone stood still in the presence of an infected and yet the infected still ran toward them and behaved hostile. They couldn’t be consistent with the new lore they were trying to introduce.
Please quit putting spoilers in titles, descriptions, etc. That used to be taboo and people didn't do it. SPOILERs are unfair and hurt people's enjoyment for a paid for show. Come on ! Titles don't even let you avoid spoilers. WRONG

I resent this show for a few reasons. One of which is that the dialogue and acting was better in the game. It was unique as a video game that couldve passed for a blockbuster Hollywood movie. They didnt need to make it live action. No one will replace the characters in the game or the way they looked. The game was presented with a beautiful bow on top and now, it feels like Hollywood’s exploiting the game’s incredible story and appropriating it with something not nearly as good. This stupid fucking idea of having the infected “kiss” Tess. Stupidest cringe shit on Earth, especially compared to how that scene was staged in the game. It’s all just so trashy. They didnt even have to write the story. They had the story and they simply made the script less clever. And the obsession with Pedro Pascal is so fucking dumb.
What they did to tess is flat out disgusting. Same with Bill. 2 bad asses to what ever tf they are now. And before yall pull the homophopic card. Bill was gay in the game. Yet still was an absolute force to reckon with. Who tf was this Cornball HBO ???? Also Tess wasn't Joel's lover, but damn well felt more like a lover in the game compared to the show. This show is Terrible tbh every single detail from story telling to characters was just a huge downgrade
