We need to, as communities, DEMAND a change in the judicial system that will prosecute these shooters to the maximum extent possible but instead of a slap on the wrist and 5 or more years' probation. I'm not saying this shooter has a criminal history, but most of the time they are repeat offenders. Protect our first responders instead of the criminals. We are told the prisons are overcrowded but explain to me why they are using our prisons to house the illegals, like they have at Eagle Pass, TX. They emptied that prison over 2 years ago in preparation of all of the illegals coming in. My husband wore the badge for 25 years over 20 years ago and things are much, much worse now with no support from our government to speak of and having to do the job that normally would take just one officer. Think of what life will be when we no longer have the protection AND paramedics when we are in crisis. Just think about how many families, friends, and communities were affected by this one person who only thought of himself. Hold these judges, state representatives, and all others that could change the laws and make them accountable for every criminal that they give probation to, which ends up committing a worse crime since they know they got away with it before. This is the only country that I know of that the criminals have more rights than the victim.

Sure seems like a terrible response. There were drones on scene. Why weren't they used to find suspect?
Why didn't they try to get any of the family on the phone? Would've been hard to control all 7 people inside plus the army outside at the same time.
Neighboring houses were taken over, why was there not snipers anywhere? In or out of the commandeered homes.
Why wasn't a robot used to deploy flashbangs specifically on the suspect? Or to discover what the inside of the house was like and what was going on LIVE.
They had all the Bearcats and MRAPS and MULTIPLE counties and state police there, multiple seat teams. Why was everyone sitting in the neighborhood outside?
Sure the easy response for people who don't understand is that there were innocent children and people in the house. The problem with that statement is that there was plenty of manpower and equipment there for this situation to be handled much much differently..
Nonetheless, very very sad situation, and no matter what response it's maddening that anyone had to die other than the shooter.
