Thanks Pat - you are a delight to watch - love your enthusiasm and how you share your knowledge - fabulous. Love the way you laugh at things - like the HSTs being turned around. Made my day - which wasn't so great, but then you turned it around. Bless you.
I love how your Breakfast Club is looking. The quilting is definitely enhancing it. Good job.
I like the densely quilted corners on the Breakfast Club quilt! Thanks for walking us through your thought process for the quilting. I also liked your storage basket switch-er-roo! Brilliant and easy. Such a fun video today! Thanks, Pat❤
Thanks for watching! i don't know why the basket switch took me so long to realize!
Star points look so nice! Enjoyable visit today. My baby Sadie likes to watch you too😊
Quilting minds think alike, the other day, I looked at my scrap basket and went that is the perfect size for all my left over 2.5" strips. So tidy up and put scraps away into they correct bins and hey presto, my strips are now neat and tidy. I found it very therapeutic and then I got so many ideas - so now I must live to 800yrs old to complete all my ideas. 🤣
we quilters need a long life!
I also like the Walkabout pattern. A lady gave me a hint to do the pieced square first , measure it then cut your blocks to match that block. This way your blocks ate the same size.
It was very interesting hearing your discussion about the quilting process, some things I had never thought about. You are a good teacher.
thank you for joining me!
I had a great time doing these squares. I finished all sides.
Longaberger making baskets again and they are beautiful. I bought my first Market basket from them in the 80’s and it was $40. Now-@ $210! Hang on to those puppies!!!
I know!
Pat I use a floor standing toilet paper rack to store my jelly rolls. Works perfect. Usually rather inexpensive as well.
I should get one!
Thank you for sharing the tips on quilting your breakfast club quilt. I always feel like it Hass to be an overall pattern. It is nice to see that you can do different things in different sections and it all comes together so beautifully.
You are so welcome!
May 4th is my birthday so it is good to remember the 4th for me.
Mostly iron everything, unless I'm tired or in a big hurry. 😊
Miracle Fabrics hah that's what I'm going to say about my stash from now on! Miracle Fabrics!!!!! Thanks Pat!
I don't often catch you live. 4:15 am in Yakima Washington. Missed the first 11 min so rewatching now. I have a few baskets with bits of darling fabric I can't 🐻 bear to part with.
Hi Pat. Thanks for the tips. I like when I can switch things around so I have more room. Thanks for sharing
Breakfastclub quilting is coming out so Nice! Love your freemotion quilting ideas of inspiration. 😊 Gave me lots of ideas on how to tackle it.
that is great! thank you for joining me!
Pat your Star point are going to be beautiful. I have to share what I did with my Christmas Tree quilt. Finished the quilt top, sandwiched it and working on my ruler quilting to realize I actually sewn my Star point upside down, not once but once four different Stars. Lesson learnt it was a lot of extra work I never want to repeat. Thanks Pat for all you share. 👍❤️🙂
Oh no!! So sorry that happened. A quilters nightmare.
Love the calendars!
I'm watching again, on replay!
How is it almost May? I love that new tumbler!
Love this kinda revised format with all the little mini video sessions. You are always so creative Pat--Love watching every day!!
thank you!
Have made the Walk about quilt twice. Love it, easy and goes together fast. Good for showcasing a special fabric or large print.
Love the walk about pattern. I have made several in several sizes. Great for focal fabric quilts.
Fun license plate on your wall! You remind me of the annual shop hop. My sewing buddy in Virginia and I collected the “quilty” license plates from each shop we visited . That was so fun! I made a little wall hanging from 9 shops. Yes, I also had aa personalized plate years ago and it hangs on my sewing room wall as well!
Twinning!! they are fun on the wall after we don't want them on the car anymore :)
Curtain rod gives a nice straight presentation vs cafe clips that produce more of a waved look.
Exactly. We will see if i like it
Those star points are so pretty with all those different reds!
I keep saying I'm going to order that Walk About pattern..... i just used the link and did it!!! Thanks!
I have the Walk About pattern. Are you thinking of doing a sew-a-long? I would love to do it with you.
I think I’m going to combine some free motion quilting with a wave stitch on a small project - you’ve inspired me to give it a whirl!
that is super!
Excited for London Town Sampler this fall. I have the pattern, just haven't gotten around to it. Now, I have a target date to do it.
Pat, I don't know if you do the adorable opening animation, or if Mr. Greg does that, or if you have some techie person who does it, but I just have to say... I LOVE IT! It is always so fun, entertaining, and uplifting. That, plus your sweet smile and laugh always make my day! Thanks for all you do! From Cheryl in Maine 😍🥰😘💞💞💞
Instead of sewing Heart of America, I have dusted off an adorable Liberty Box and will sew along and hopefully finish along woth you.
that is perfect!
Hi Pat! I still have to quilt my Breakfast Club and I am really enjoying the tips you are sharing. If you could film yourself doing more of the quilting, it would be helpful. I know it's hard doing it one handed though! Speaking of the cute, cute fabric you found a new home for - I wanted to let you know about a cool quilt along that Kate Basti is having with her Tall Tales Quilt Blocks. It's a fun way to use text prints, which I know you love, and the "character prints" you have plus selvages or larger text for the spines. It either starts in May or June, I can't remember. Maybe June? Anyway she has a template for the book front if you want it, plus it is paper pieced.
I always press!
Yes I press the crease first
I’m like you. It depends on the. Wrinkles
I love cafe clips since I change out my quilts often !
I love the “Walkabout” pattern.
I love the breakfast quilt and really appreciate you taking the time to discuss the quilting with close up viewing. Would you please discuss your thread choices? Are you changing colours or sticking with a neutral? Maybe you’re using a neutral for the background and some of the appliqué but colour matching the darker fabric. And finally what colour thread is in your bobbin and do you try to match it to the top fabric, the backing fabric or the top thread?
I used white for everything for this quilt.
@@PatSloan Thanks for your quick response!
I love that camera fabric you have in your new miracle basket❤️❤️
Lots of great information. Have a lovely day!
I am always sorry when I don't press the wrinkles out. Just a way of life.
My license plate is QU1LTER😊. I love it
nice! what state?
Enjoyed as always😊
Thanks Marie!
Pat thanks for sharing ha e a great day 😊
good morning!
I was working my Millie’s dresses and wasn’t sure how to quilt the dresses. (Stippled the background)
Pat, do you use your walking foot while doing the free motion like on your breakfast club quilt?
You never use a walking foot to freemotion. It won't work
Love thr breakfast club. Where can I find pattern. Thank you.
at my finished project page at my QAL website, www.ilovetomakequilts.com/ take a look around!
😄❤
I have a table runner I made a few years ago. It needs more quilting. Can you add more quilting on a finished project without causes problems?
Hi, I’m not Pat Sloan. I believe you can add quilting anytime. It shouldn’t cause any problems for you.
sure!! that will work just fine. Make the quilting balance so you dont have it twist.
I have “Triagulations” software by Brenda Henning make any size half square Triangle you like.
I am a No Press Person. I figure that is what the ruler does, presses down the fabric.
Press bc if you don't your piece is not accurate
It would drive me nuts not to press🤦🏻♀️
I press the creases out, I can’t stand creases and wrinkles. 😅
