Watching this clip makes me think the upcoming reboot/relaunch on Sky with Greg Davies hosting will feel even more soulless than this does. Simon Amstell was a decent host, but the Mark Lamarr ones were the best by a long way. Seasons 1 - 10 with the classic lineup of Mark Lamarr as host and Phil Jupitus and Sean Hughes as team captains were the best.
bill bailey is definitely far funnier as a comedian than sean hughes was (r.i.p.) but yeah the pure dynamic of the original mark lamarr years cant be touched. even though simon did a phenomenal job trying to fill some very big shoes you could tell the show was on its way out. also bizarrely i really liked noel fielding on his two (three?) first guest spots filling in for bill but whenever i watched an episode when he was the full-time captain he was either annoying or boring
@@seldom_bucket There are way worse comedians than Phil. For example, 5 years ago I was dragged in to watch Josh Widdecombe. After leaving the theatre and seeing an advertisement for Phill Jupitus the next week, I felt robbed of my time.
My mum was given tickets to a steps concert in 2019! Covid put it off for years and they went last month Said they are absolutely shite and she was a fan haha I know her being a fan is sad and i take the piss often haha The fact a fan said they were bloody awful is entertaining to me
I didn't get that sense at all. She was able to laugh at herself and didn't get offended at Frankies harshest jokes. She was more entertaining than H from Steps or that female comedian who keeps appearing on panel shows but I can never remember her name
