I remembered Suzy, Krystal, Nana and Naeun being called the IT girls back then together with Yoona, Sohee, UEE, Sulli, and Hara. People were obsessed! They're so successful even as an actress. I'm just so proud. All the girls listed here are iconic and that's not me being biased. It's true. They left a mark on Kpop History.
They truly did ... Icons!!!
nana being underated will always be one of the biggest mystery in kpop to me she got on them most beautiful list more than once and i saw her in real life(i used to live in seoul so i saw many idols and actress in real life) and omfg shes the most beautiful women i have ever seen like and she wasnt even wearing makeup and i saw her with make up too i cant even tell how much shes beautiful and the cameras dont do her justice
Also her is acting is generally good, maybe she got overshadow by uee since they were in the same group
@@mariakiwi1428 Nana is also a really good dancer and has nice vocals. She truely is the perfect idol with visuals and talent. She can sing, act, dance and even rap a bit. Pledis really screwed up After School.
To hear that the camera doesn't do her justice is crazy because I already thought she was the most stunning woman ever.

@@mariakiwi1428 She did since uee's acting career took off almost right after she debuted. Uee really wanted to become an actress, the idol career was to blow up her acting career. Since uee was so passionate her acting was really amazing; not that nana was bad, Uee was just a goddess in the knetz eyes for acting.
I agree that Korean actors are more dependent on the beauty standards since... they act, unlike idols who have to dance and sing and do all kinds of things... actors have to become popular with acting and simply showing themselves

Idols have to be attractive or they'll be called ugly. It's the main role of an actor. In reality, no one really cares about the singing or dancing skills of an idol. (In Korea, they're simply beautiful entertainers or influencers that perform).
But most Korean actresses / actors don't fit the beauty standards. Eg: Jeon Jong Soo. Ji Jin her from the penthouse has the same features gfriend's Umji was bullied for.
Not at all idk why people agree with that acting focus on showing emotions and representing a story no one cares about the visual as much as the acting!

actually there are also european standards. or american. for example in america people criticize if singers who don’t have an hour glass body shape or not “slim enough” saying they’re “not sexy” or “don’t appeal them”

Actresses have a different type of beauty from idols. Actresses have a beauty that make them seem like ordinary people whereas idols have a more flamboyant beauty if that makes sense. Nana is a flamboyant beauty so I’m surprised she’s an actress now.

The nose analysis has been super inconsistent throughout this video series. How is it possible to say that Hyeri has a slim nose while saying that Hani has a wider nose?? Doesn’t make sense at all

I wonder what's the MINIMUM amount of the beauty standards you'd have to fill to be an idol. I've seen lots rate really high and then miss 2 or 3. For example, not having ideal ratio, double eyelid, hourglass, fair skin. Those aren't necessarily deal breakers if they have other traits like meet the height, heart shaped lips, etc. So how many can you make but still be good 👍🏼👀
Shaved jawline/ v shape (only idols who don't meet are Kim Doyeon and Jennie)
Double eyelids unless you have cat eyes.
High nose bridge and small nostrils, small nose in general
Pale skin
Long legs
Curvy body (remember Yeri being criticized for looking like a fridge)
Slimmmmmm (except Hwasa but she isn't really thick)

I didn't mean to be rude but I remember netizens dragging Yeri that year. It was really bad.
I was looking for Suzy. She is so gorgeous, and I was curious to see how high she’d be with the KBSs. 90% doesn’t surprise me at all. She has had so many haters, and I glad she used it to empower her to be better at her craft rather than let it break her. Even Miss A hates on her,but I think it boils down to jealousy. I think she is a very strong-willed and minded person. Sometimes, I think it might be very difficult to be the visual of a girl group. Not only do you have to keep being “pretty” which translates to thinness and clear, porcelain skin, but some of them get so much hate when they change anything about themselves, or, like in Suzy’s case, you can be hated by the people closest to you since the public puts you on a higher pedestal. Boys don’t seem to have the same problem as a lot of boy groups boost each other up. I’ll never forget the SHINee concert where Jonghyun made Minho walk up and down the stage like a catwalk to show off how he looked so good in his suit. I wish girl groups would have the same attitude (I know a lot of girl groups do appreciate their visuals, but you have to admit a lot of girls are/were salty about their visual members-mostly in the second and third generations, though). I also understand the “get rid of the visual position” movement going on in the K-pop community because all idols are beautiful in their own way or else they probably wouldn’t be idols (on another point, I actually don’t like the term “idol” because an idol is for worship,and I could never worship a person who is human just like you and me, but they are way more talented in my case, anyway). However, this is generally from international fans who forget S Korea has a very different culture than countries in “the West”.

There's a good director who can makes amazing movies
