I used to think of my VA compensation as beer money, but I quit drinking. I’ll be paying off my home mid-November. It has been a game changer.
Good for you brother! Healthy(er)and a paid house. Enjoy your life in peace ✌️
It's nice to see guests that can give us different perspectives and their specific journey.
Awesome topic! My story is I am 100% debt free for the last 15+ years! Just cruising! At the time I got debt free I was on 40% VA. Now I’m 100% P&T so I have a lot of money now to invest & just enjoy! Pinch along, back years ago.
I would love to hear how you managed 100%!
Same, unfortunately am debt free due to a failed business which led to bankruptcy. But now zero debt and 100% P&T, wife makes $500k+, so now I trade and invest and stay home with the kids. Also want to slowly add some real estate back to our investments.
Very much deserves his 100 percent VA disability! Much respect to this Navy EOD!
Thank you for the "stated" message without "stating" the message (i.e., Psalms 23). I needed that! ❤🙏🏼😉
Just got my first check today....it fells unreal....even tho i was at the check cashing place with check in hand...it felt unreal....but its real...and to think i get this every month forever.....
We as vets do deserve this...im still gonna side hustle
Happy to be apart of the 100% p n t club
Congrats! How long was your claim journey? I have been in step 3 since early August. Just patiently impatiently waiting for the next step
Good job. Big proponent of calming the finance front to alleviate mental health stressors.
This is so true. If you commit to the steps it will change your life. Once you’re debt free life is just better.
I've always lived below my means. I socked away for rainy days and for retirement. Nickels and dimes put aside. My first brand new vehicle was at 37. My first brand new built to my spec home I got at 31. So many want a new vehicle every few years. I try to stretch everything to the max. I was on my way to seeing retirement and had have a life changing surgery. My kids in their 30's and 40's complain that we didn't do big vacations. One thing is for sure, and thanks to P&T, my children will never have to take care of me or my wife. I see my own siblings being cared for by their families. Nothing wrong with that if it's for love. Let me restate I'll never be an unplanned burden to my kids. They will be able to live their own lives without parental need concerns.
Thank You Mom and Dad for teaching me this. It was never clear why until the last few years. This old soldier will be at peace whenever it's time. 😊
Why do you think VA doesn't want veterans to live the dream, those willing not to serve, often running VA, want their cake and eat it too. They didn't serve and want people who did to receive no benefit or advantage for their service. I truly believe in the phrase, those willing to sacrifice nothing are asking you to sacrifice everything.
I want to clarify that it is the administrative side VA that hurts vets, not the Dr or the nurses. At least most of them.
There are a lot of creepy doctors and social workers and psychologists working in the VA@@Disabledvetmatt
This is sooo good!! I’m in the position of the stress of the claims process, appeals, C&P (corrupt) “exams”… unemployed & “needing” this pay of my deserved ratings. Trying to remind myself that it can’t get any worse… & striving to get thru mental health stuff to figure out what I can do in addition, with & while managing other medical issues. Thanks for sharing this!!! 🙏💖👍
Great video. I will watch it again later when my brain is not quite as pickled. I have definitely struggled along the path of giving all you have tomorrow bring its own problems
Hey thanks! And 1 day at a time
- Clay
@TheCivDiv I truly do need to get back on path. I appreciate all that you do for us veterans. Even those of us who strayed away for way too long. Your videos have helped me to start my process. I never filed because they could not find my medical records. I was under the misconception that I needed them to file for benefits. Maybe if my ex-wife had received some compensation she would not have left
You got this battle. Keep pushing.
Backpay with an intent to file is one of the most awesome things. Nice bonus to help take care of debt.
Very informative collaboration gentlemen, thank for the sharing of insight. 🇺🇸🤙🏼🙏🏼
Sir your speaking to me 50 percent and working full time…im listening
Your mission stay on your budget, free your self of debt....❤
This was an amazing video! Thanks so much!
Semper Fi Do or Die Ooo-Rah Keep up the Intel Gents. 🤘🙏👍
Awesome video my man thanks for sharing
this was one of your best videos yet
semper fi brotha
❤❤❤ you are solid ❤❤❤
Solid info! Thanks!
This video might be the most important video that veterans might ever watch. I read countless threads of veterans who finally hit the 100% mark and they talk about what they’re going to buy and honestly I cringe. This is specially true for the younger vets who need that guidance. Invest, invest, invest!! This is an opportunity that less than 1% of the population ever gets and we can’t squalor it. Don’t invest in individual stocks, instead look into either INDEX funds or real estate and in 10 years you will be sippin margaritas on a Caribbean island!
Hey thanks for the comment and I totally agree! Veterans who are working full-time and reveling VA compensation are in a unique position
- Clay
Thank you so much for this video! Very interesting and informative!
I’m hoping this doesn’t come off as scammy but I seriously believe disabled veterans should be debt free
- Clay
@@TheCivDiv I agree and working on it! ⚙️ ⚙️ 🚛 I'm a truck driver and spend more time in this truck than I'd like but hopefully not forever! Good living and getting to see lots of beautiful places. Even driving thru Kentucky isn't bad 😉
I've been 💯 TDIU for 2 years now. I actually bought my home right before i found out. Like 4 months. I was homeless for a very long time before that. About 5 years. My finances aren't crazy. I live in a small town. I just need upgrades to my home. Not sure where to start.
Tuning in now bro
People forget (or dont know) the difference between savings interest and mortgages. Rates for savings is APY (annual percentage yield) based on interest paid total per year calculated at divded interest by months. Mortgage is calculated daily, adding to debt so you pay interest on interest on a daily basis. It saves more money applying extra to payment than putting it savings. My 30 year Mortgage was paid off 10 years early by doing that saving me well over $40,000.
Where are decent houses that are only 30% of your income? They don’t exist anymore unless you want to dodge bullets or rent.
Living in Southern California ,OC. The average is about 1mil and there’s no way a mortgage will be less than $6,000. Obviously with a big down payment but who has $350k for that
Come on man! Now the VA is gonna try to move Christmas to a different day
Poor people say, “Can I afford this payment?” Rich people say, “How much?”
I’m not a financial advisor and I encourage y’all to seek one for your own investments, but I invest in dividend stocks. Using VA disability, that stockpile and ROI will exponentially grow through the years. Next thing you know, you’re making an extra $75K+ a year in passive income (or more, or a lot more).
Bottom line, live frugally, use cash, not credit (get rid of that crap), build equity in a home, and grow your portfolio.
Smart money is winning money.
What ticks me off the most with VA compensation is how a retiree with less than a 50% rating gets stuck paying their own compensation. Especially with all the other vets who didn't retire simply get a separate check from the VA. I paid at 40% for 20 years. Yes PACT Act helped but again they limited the amount of back compensation I was allowed. I never applied for CRSC to see if I qualified. But I might now although I am currently getting CRDP at 100% which will be reevaluated in a few more months. I am getting a lawyer soon to help me fight things.
In North Carolina most factories around here make 25-35k
21:15 I worked at NATO and in other countries, and I know for a fact that Canada, the UK, Australia, and Germany have their comparable versions of the Veterans Affairs system.
Ukraine does not and those that do, certainly aren’t as beneficial as the US
- Clay
Living paycheck to paycheck is not an income problem, it’s a behavior problem.
Damn
Task & Purpose reached out to six national veterans advocacy organizations for comment for this story. Three said they had no comment on Project 2025’s policy recommendations, the others did not respond, nor did two experts on veteran affairs at a major defense policy research organization.
I became a member today however I can’t get anything to work on discord, so unfortunately I just cancelled my membership.
I had a question about a PTSD increase that was denied.
I just tagged you on discord. Reply back and let’s get your question(s) answered. We can also help with setting up discord stuff, too.

The issue is the veterans that can't work
The ones working at federal agencies or working as cops or teachers should not get a dime this should go to veterans who are so in so bad shape they cannot work
@@dampergoldenrod4156 wow...
@@dampergoldenrod4156 what are you even talking about lol
That's so depressing. You just told me to figure out how to go back to work.
Hahahah
I really appreciate your efforts! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
I asked about being screwed over by the VA. 2018 appeal, 2019 higher lever review pile, 2023 remanded decision, 2024 decision, with an effective date of 2024 NOT 2018. The VA stated I can do nothing about the egregious error. Any thoughts?
You only have the benefits if the VA allows you to have VA law says veterans with certain disabilities have certain benefits, but if Las Vegas VA doesn’t allow you to have those benefits then you don’t.
So should I try to file for bankruptcy or try getting credit card consolidation program? I’m a veteran on 100% p &T but I don’t want to mess up my credit . I owe about $30,000 + on credit cards.I am really stressed out and want to be able to breathe lol😂
Just google vet consolation programs. Your credit will take a hit so if you need anything secure the loan first.
Great question.
Just pay it off, over time.?
Start by stop using the darn cards and pay over time. Do you have rent or mortgage, is that taking all you compensation? lol do you know where your money is going?
Outfrikkinstanding Advice!
Well Clay I have been trying to get back into the workforce for engineering to become an engineer. Clay if I can’t work a second career then I don’t want their money. I am a 100%PNT decided many years ago. You should see how whomever has been trying to destroy me because I want to update my degree that I earned prior to the navy and go back to work. It is my constitutional right to do what I am trying to do. The Navy destroyed a Navy career. The Democrats have trying to destroy me for 40 years since Governor Bob Graham. Clay the navy did dismantle me. Sloppy malpractice.
Veterans need to read or review project 2025 because it will devastate your life.
I wonder what his thoughts would be if you had a small mortgage say 150 K and a 3% rate. I’ve got a savings account that is currently getting 4.6%. It makes more sense to me to sock that in the 4.6%savings account then trying to save 3% on your mortgage
Don't save, invest!
@@SeanKmaththey both go hand in hand, and being debt free from an individual standpoint can relieve a lot of stress, so if you want to pay off your mortgage faster and build up the equity, I think that’s more important.
I invested. I retired early and have a 2 year emergency fund getting 4.6%. It’s enough to pay off my mortgage if I wanted to. 4.6% is greater than my 3% mortgage interest.
When savings account interest drops (which it will) I’ll invest in bonds or CD’s. Low risk.
Ukraine has the american taxpayer that just sent them over two hundred and sixty billion dollars
The idea that "100% P&T" means you should not be able to work at all is absurd. 100% disability in the current economic state, if you aren't able to work because of that rating, means you have zero chance at the "American Dream" and you couldn't hope to go above that. You need to be able to do put in more effort of some kind to try to make your life as good as you can otherwise you are stuck at the constantly median because 100% isn't making a 6 figure income, it isn't being able to afford a nicer life now, depending on your location it might also just not be enough to pay the bills.
No one working in the VA or in a federal agency or as a cop or is a teacher should be collecting veterans compensation they are already getting enough money and they proved that they can work and hold a job
Awesome video Thanks to both of you 🇺🇸🫡
