“Dead space” comes from an actual term used in breathing apparatus where gas exhaled in one breath will be immediately inhaled in the next breath due to using the same passage for inhale and exhale, making it harder to breath.
It's also explained in the movie, maybe retconed can't ever tell these days, as there is circle area around the market the necromorphs can't go and they call it "dead space"
@@thefakebanette3483 It's not retconned, it's just that said dead space around a Marker isn't permanent. I think it disables during the final stages of Convergence or something

The "Nicole is dead" chapter titles, while definitely not a secret anymore, is still one of my favorite secrets in gaming- I love when games do things like that, leaving details that reveal things in advance that only eagle-eyed players/viewers will catch. It's like a fancier version of foreshadowing that only video games can really pull off in most cases.
@yashmathur2 in the second season of the show, an air disaster where two boeing 737 commercial airlines collide overhead Albuquerque and the event acts as the climax to the aforementioned season.
A great thing about the remake is that it forced me to diversify my weapon usage, because it made ammunition so much more scarce. I don’t think I ever used the flame thrower in the og game, but in the remake I found myself using it a lot, and I found out how useful it was for certain enemies.
One thing about the whole "new weapons were inferior to my current weapons": Thats part of the replayability. When I played the first time (the remake, of course. I played the original) my arsenal was almost exactly like yours. But when I replayed I allowed myself to experiment with the others and it was so much fun. Made the game feel fresh
I think Dead Space is the best action horror game ever for one reason, the enemy AI. So I don't know why or how I do this, but often when I play games it feel like a stage play. The enemy enters stage right, pops shots at me, rushes me, tries to hit me, etcetera. I then use my tools to beat them or run if its Outlast/Amnesia. But in Dead Space the enemies don't feel like actors on a stage, it feels like a wild animal attacking me. I remember playing Dead Space 1 in 2010 for the first time and I was immediately scared. The feeling of the stage, the push and pull of a fight I always knew I would win was gone. The Necromorphs don't care about letting you win, they just want to assimilate you into their hive. Props to the designers at Visceral Games for making AI that absolutely rocked my perception of gaming. Edit: I'm enjoying the video so far but I do think you need to double check your script. You call the Leviathan the Goliath, the Pulse Rifle the Plasma Rifle, calling Dr. Cross a Unitologist, and a couple other small things. It's a little jarring.
Dead Space is my favorite horror game. I remember when the remake came out and it got me curious. I watched a let’s play, and fell in love with the franchise. So unique, haunting and iconic. I looked up the original games, lore, everything I could find. When I finally got my ps5 and played the remake, it was absolutely incredible. The gameplay loop, in game storytelling, no camera cuts, I could go on. I may be a newcomer, but man, this franchise already has a special place in my heart
Your loadout was pretty much mine as well lol I would swap in the Force Gun every now and again though because of how badass it is, takes a lot to kill but it literally blasts the skin off the necros and you can see all the gory detail they put into them, its great.
1 thing that this remake blown my mind was the video calls that looks super hyper realistic like seriously it looks actually real life footage with amazing motion capture or animation or whatever it was mind blowing

the Dead Space remake is the only remake I can get behind. I liked the original but I always thought it had much room for improvement, and Dead Space 2 was proof of that. The remake practically brings everything that made Dead Space 2 better back into Dead Space 1. Unlike the SH2 remake or the RE remakes, it felt like there was actually a point to this one.
Great video! Dead Space 2 isn't as scary as the first as it leans more into action (still pretty scary though). was super stoked to see the announcement for the remake and just how faithful it was to the original. seriously one of the best horror games to come out in recent years despite it being a remaster lol
I like your anlaysis on the game, it's good stuff but I don't really consider Dead Space to be a "horror" game in the traditional sense. It's more of an action horror game or a shooting game that has an emphasis on horror, it's really no different than something like Aliens is. The kind of horror games you dislike which is what Outlast is, a horror game with a focus on stealth but just doesn't have well designed stealth mechanics. Survival Horror is basically the Resident Evil and Silent Hill kind of games where you have to selectively gun down enemies, maybe not kill everyone but it's not killing waves of enemies, enemies are in your way as you backtrack and collect resources and items. I'm not as obessesed with horror games like many but I consider these 3 styles of game to compromise the "horror" gaming genre.
7:30 - I need to check this out because that is not true to my knowledge. In Dead Space 2 and beyond enemies only drop items after you stomp their corpses, as opposed to og Dead Space where enemies dropped loot upon death

You absolutely should play Resident Evil 4 Remake after this. It's not as scary as dead space (still definetily has scary stuff) but the combat is excelent, some of the best I've ever experienced.
Dead Space 1, 1 remake, 2 and 3, have always been designed around replayability. You go through the game the first time with one set of weapons, then come back for another round with the other weapons. Dead Space 3 mixed this up with weapon crafting, where you could play NG+ with a new set of weapons every chapter if you wanted, giving a huge amount of variety to the experience, more so than any of the other games.
I highly recommend checking out Alan Wake 2! It's not quite as scary as Dead Space (except for the nursing home segment.... shudders) but I'd argue it's one of the most well-written horror games ever made!

For some reason in the bathrooms I was never often attacked in them. Love this remake I never played the first and it’s honestly the greatest way to play it. The original is still great aswell I played it afterwards, had much better voice actors for Daniel’s and Hammond not saying the remakes were bad they were alright
It is downright criminal this series is not more popular. Instead, we get 28 resident evil games, in which yoi grind for a gun that has a 2% chance of piercing one enemy and hitting the one behind...
The original is better, but it definitely has aged and the remake is more accessible and easier to play on PC. If you have an old PS3 or Xbox 360 I do recommend the original first, though.
Great Video man do yourself a favour and play Dead Space 2 it's in my opinion the best game in the series with how fun the combat is and had an incredible story which would have been a perfect ending to Iasac character if the 3rd game didn't exist
If you haven't already, please play Dead Space 2. Please. It's great. It's more horror themed action than horror itself. Please. Also have you not played RE4?
As much as i like all the dead space games i was awlays rather disappointed with the lack of gameplay based horror, as opposed to visual horror. Sure the game has scary imagery but issac, even on hard, is so unbelievably powerful and both in the remake and original i rarely felt i was lacking for ammo. Every encounter i knew it would be fairly easy to take down all the foes the enemy throws at me
Dead Space 2 is more action less horror, you might find it scary still for sure but from similar feeling friends they said they were able to get through 2 easier.
You should really play the resident evil 4 or resident evil 2 remakes if you haven’t already. Re4r is way less scary and has more fun action but both games are fantastic.
About the necromophs being diffrend types of people, i feel like the standing ones are male ones cus we have seen them transform and the crawling ones could be the famales. idk how else would you group those
You can reuse the nodes on your weapons by paying 5k on the upgrade bench and use them in your new weapons, that fixes the problem you talk about the new weapons being less powerfull than your old ones.
Honestly I was loving the game till chapter 10. Always save before chapter 10. I saved during and there’s a game breaking bug and I have no other saves so either I start the game all over or drop it which I’m doing the latter 0 outa 10 game because it’s unplayable after that 😩
I played a bit of this recently(PS Plus), and I foolishly put it on hard, safe to say I didn't enjoy the game and found the gameplay outdated. I'd appreciate some advice on how to play it.
I think the big thing that helped me is looting everything. Ultimately the combat is a resource game, and the more ammo I had, the safer I was. Also save frequently so if you feel like you used too much ammo in a fight, you can load a previous save and try it again!
@@ThatBoyAqua Contact Beam is an absolute monster, nothing comes close. Line launcher is second place. The cutter is also very powerful. How come you can rank the assault rifle above them? It does close to nothing and that 25 ammo per grenade does not do enough damage to justify the resources.
As a lover of Dead Space since the original was released, I played the remake with trepidation. I couldn't believe how good it was. It still has some of the failings of the original, but overall it was a real win, and I could honestly say I would recommend it over the original, since it really retains the spirit while smoothing over some of the more abrasive parts of the gameplay.
Something that I sincerely don’t know, or understand at all cause to me it makes less than no sense. These morons believe the marker is divine, and okay I can get that. But they think it’s the next evolution of humanity? If they had no idea what happens to people, then it makes a tiny bit of sense. But they do know what happens and can see it, experience it, live it. Evolution is an adaptation, becoming better in some way or giving something that no one had before it. Yet one of if not the greatest we have is our intelligence and our free will. Yet these morons, want to turn into mindless controlled mutations or whatever you want to call them. That’s not evolution, that’s the opposite by a massive degree. Am I missing something? Does this get explained in lore or something I haven’t read or seen?

The original is better, but it definitely has aged and the remake is more accessible and easier to play on PC. If you have an old PS3 or Xbox 360 I do recommend the original first, though.
Great Video man do yourself a favour and play Dead Space 2 it's in my opinion the best game in the series with how fun the combat is and had an incredible story which would have been a perfect ending to Iasac character if the 3rd game didn't exist
I would love to hear your thoughts on the Resident Evil remakes and the new Silent Hill 2 remake
Every encounter i knew it would be fairly easy to take down all the foes the enemy throws at me
1:55 - slight mistake there, mate
man the frequency in upload is insane .............. love the content ...keep up the good work
I’ve done another wave where I made 4 videos back to back and now I’m crashing for the next week so expect another unexplained 30 day gap lol
Dead Space 2 is more action less horror, you might find it scary still for sure but from similar feeling friends they said they were able to get through 2 easier.
Have they fixed the frequent stuttering yet?
You should really play the resident evil 4 or resident evil 2 remakes if you haven’t already. Re4r is way less scary and has more fun action but both games are fantastic.
About the necromophs being diffrend types of people, i feel like the standing ones are male ones cus we have seen them transform and the crawling ones could be the famales. idk how else would you group those
I've been playin it and I fuckin love it
You can reuse the nodes on your weapons by paying 5k on the upgrade bench and use them in your new weapons, that fixes the problem you talk about the new weapons being less powerfull than your old ones.
Can’t believe I never saw that option. Thanks for pointing it out!
I absolutely love this remake and was so heart broken that DS2 will never get a remake let alone DS3. I literally play this remake to relax.
Try the new silent hill 2 remake. I think you would like it.
Did you played any RESIDENT EVIL game because your reaction is like you didn't even played OG RE4 or other RE games
I hope dead space 2 remake will still be happening
5800x3d with 6800xt, still a stuttery mess.
4:31 Heh, I also found Outlast boring, but I didn't find it scary either, just really plain old boring.
I'm supposed to run from some dude?
Honestly I was loving the game till chapter 10. Always save before chapter 10. I saved during and there’s a game breaking bug and I have no other saves so either I start the game all over or drop it which I’m doing the latter 0 outa 10 game because it’s unplayable after that 😩
:)
Despite being a horror game, this game feels so addictive to play since the gameplay is so good.
Based on what you’ve said in this video it sounds to me like you should just play dead space 2.
@ThatBoyAqua Thanks, appreciate it.
This is how you do a remake. They just improved, without taking things away.
You do realise that you skipped some really powerful weapons right? The assault rifle is really weak in this remake.
I got all the weapons (I think cause I got a trophy for getting all of them) but I just found the starting 4 to be the best
Talk about silent hill 2 remake
I gotta relax on the horror before I have a jammer
People find the dead space games difficult?
I hope they release the dead space 2 remake.. 🙏🏼
Man, I hope they remake DS 2. The sequels nail the action as well as the horror.
bro you’re almost a year too late to this
Don’t put the ad in the beginning of the video
