Okay but, I love your art style. It’s like real but also mythical. Another thing I have to comment on is how you build the monster’s lore etc. it’s just amazing how creative you get. You don’t just combine the two, you make a fluent beast that is it’s own thing, but can still be traced to its origins. Keep it up!

@@calebmurray4438 Goomy is a dragon type, but the Clot Fly itself doesn't have anything to do with dragons (although it's been a bit since I've seen the video). Goomy's just one of the inspiration components, not literally a piece of it.
Okay so I gotta make a comment about that Hydragon fusion. I’ve just recently been looking into the prebuilt campaign Horde of the Dragon Queen, and even its sequel. Hearing your description, and seeing the abomination as a failed Tiamat experiment gets me really excited for the possibilities of what new story plots it might arise for that campaign. VERY well done!!

I can't remember where, but I heard that Hydreigon's arm-heads where murdered by the main head so the main head gets control of the body and all the food it finds. Which, if true and applied to the Drachimera, makes it much scarier. A homicidal hydra god that has serious control and self-hate issues. Will sometimes actively harm itself and occasionally generate a new head with no player input.

@@triccele Fair enough, though they're actually completely different in those things. The stryx (plural stirges) from Greek mythology are weird bloodsucking owl/harpy things, whereas Striga from the Witcher is some sort of hag.
The terraptor kind of makes me think of monsterhunter, which i suppose in a way is kind of an inbetween of d&d and pokemon in a way unless you get into the darker parts. And even then you have the stuff that isnt in the games like the equal dragon weapon and some monsters footnotes that lean toward that direction
The Terraptor sounds like an exelent hunter, with it's toxin immobalizing its prey, while still being able to eat it, instead of the total petrification where you can't eat your victim.
As a DM for a campaign a year in the making, these designs really got me inspired for some potential encounters. Really fantastic work on these fusions!

I'm planning a world where there are a couple of Megadungeons that even the gods know little about, and they have decided to live on the mortal plane to more directly focus adventuring efforts to explore them and experience life among mortals. (if anyone is wondering, I'm stealing the DanMachi setting). I'm going to cram as many of your monster mashes into this game as possible, as special levels in these dungeons! They're all so cool and fun!

The drachimera is literally just the oldest and most battleworn hydra. So many heads have been cut of, that it consists of naught but sabre-toothed heads and long, muscular neck :D

Amazing video as always, I love the artworks and the concepts you came up with! Just a quick question, on average, how long does it usually take you to come up with a creature? I mean, designing a monster that combines the most interesting traits of two different creatures is already hard by itself, but you actually go even further and create the lore to really breathe life into your creations. And I didn't even mention actually drawing the creature (with a lot of details even) or writing the stat blocks - all together, that seems like a lot of work!
These videos are honestly some of the coolest D&D content I've ever seen. Subscribing, liking, and commenting largely for the fact that it would improve my life if this channel hits the threshold where it can be a person's full-time job.
"Too spicy for their cr" yeah? So i should avoid using the cr system to make the encounters harder? I dont want to have tpk because i put in too many monsters trying to boost the cr of the encounter.
The weird thing about CR is it's mostly bullshit. It's less of a concrete rule and more a range. You can still definitely use it to tell, but note that some enemies feel like they don't exactly fit the CR they were placed in. One thing that might help is find a way to keep track of what your players are capable of, and then pick monsters that have similar ranges of power. DnD 5e balancing is less of a exact science and more of a ballpark kinda thing.
@@darienb1127 5e has no set balancing, instead the dm has to do that its like trying to balance a book shelf on a point, its just nit worth the time trying to be exact.

This is one of the coolest ideas for creature creation i have ever seen. By using just Pokemon and D&D alone, you could create THOUSANDS of new and interesting creatures. You could make Mordenkainen look like a total pushover when it comes to creature catalogues. If you wanted, you could even push into crossing D&D creatures with Yu-Gi-Oh monsters and REALLY go crazy. You could make an entire library of new and exciting beasts!

i would have had the terraptor form bark on the place where it struck an adventurer with its barbed tail and the barbs would stick into the flesh eventually turning the area into solid wood and bark a turn later, the creature then eats these wooden creatures after its finished with them as their filled to the brim with solid nutrients
Your creations deserve their own realm or two to run wild. As it is you can create a small, or large if your creature needs the space, menagerie for a avid collector to keep most of these creatures. As your collection of fusions grow, I have confidence you will have enough for the foundations of your own universe, one where only the strongest in mind, body, and spirit would dare intrude.
Your Drachimera reminds me of a campaign idea I had involving an evil dragonborn paladin slaying dracoliches and taking pieces to craft together a host body for Tiamat.
You should publish a D&D Monster Book with your creations.
Or WotC or Paizo should hire him for a book

Those Clot Flies are an entire campaign in themselves. Finding a cure for those things is gonna be a massive ordeal.
Sceptile and cocotrice is a deinonychus or velociraptor with a terror bird beak and the ability to turn things to stone... great!

i would have had the terraptor form bark on the place where it struck an adventurer with its barbed tail and the barbs would stick into the flesh eventually turning the area into solid wood and bark a turn later, the creature then eats these wooden creatures after its finished with them as their filled to the brim with solid nutrients
