I potentially almost caused the first TPK in my campaign, by giving my DM ideas and maybe just putting the idea of advanced mimics in their head. I was later told that the specific circumstance we did explore wasn’t inspired by my words,at least not yet
Here my thoughts to your "inventions": Mourner's Mire & Trick: Even more abominations to terrorize your players ;) Good mix between their different themes (Humanoid&Teeth Mouth / Worm&Tree) Paranoia intensifies Tatzelworm: Absolutely gorgeus design, imagine if it lets you ride on its back into battle Kuo Toa Psion: Makes an interesting challenge, let it trap the players in games and see if they can trick it back and defeat it ("parents" also went together quite well) Death Shroud: This has so much potential. They can behave like critters or be entirely sentient. Especially if your party has someone dabbling with necromancy, this thing could be soo interesting to deal with. (I admit it, I would to try to communicate with it and maybe make it my lab assistant/partner in crime/ corpse disposer. The little version is also kinda cute, in a morbid way)
Oh I might have to add these in my campaign and the description is just awesome! Adding sound affects as well. Jess you are a art crafting, monster making, badass!
This was so cool! The Mimikyu and Cadaver Collector fusions were by far my favorite. I’m not super familiar with DnD, but it was still awesome to see Pokémon transformed from a cute fantasy creature into a more traditional fantasy monster.
Okay, so I'm accidentally watching these in reverse order, and I gotta say, your imagination is a thing of beauty. That you can draw what is in your brain is even better. That you do it for D&D puts you right over the top. Excellent, excellent, EXCELLENT! Edit: Also, your voiceovers are atmospheric, poetic, and just a blast to listen to.

To me, The Trick should be Grass/Dark to better reflect it's violent and evil tendencies the Tatzlwurm should probably be Dragon/Fairy to better reflect it's benevolent side And the Death Shroud is the perfect opportunity to bring a Ghost/Normal type in my opinion. It isn't particularly evil, it isn't psychic etc but it's also not just a basic Ghost. It seems like something that would fit a Ghost/Normal type perfectly
@@OrionoftheStar I know what you are saying. But in Pokémon Fairy is often used to signify a good side and an affinity for nature and people, which is what this creature is. This is not indicative of D&D's own fairies which are pricks
Your artistic skills with your ability to improvise names+stories for the creations is ridiculously good! I'd love to see another episode in the future!
That large Death Shroud is stated out in the description and is officially the leader of a rebellious group of undead in my homebrew setting! It's name is Raggervon and I can't wait for my players to meet it! Thank you so much for bringing such an interesting concept to life!
@@nonnolento Not just yet but fortunately my party has taken the job to clear out and find the source of a Shadowfell incursion. This rebellious group of undead will be there. Can't wait to see what they do. 😁😁😁
@@chaotixthefox The group found Raggervon's group The Rag Pack. They actually sympathized with it. The Paladin worked around the fact that Raggervon was connected to the undead by the fact it is actually a Construct that only manipulates dead bodies. With him backing them up they barely managed to take down the weakened Skull Lord that had tried to hide and recuperate from a failed coup in the Shadowfell proper. We lost the Blood Hunter in the fight and to honor him Raggervon added his body to himself. The bard sent a Sending to Dame Talina and she promised amnesty to Raggervon in exchange for him protecting her Woodlands and all the living who pass through. He agreed and promised that if the party needed him he would come scrambling. He is now Raggervon the Ragged Warden of The Tamlin Woods. So a bittersweet ending.
The ability to render these things so beautifully visually and then also suss out the thematic links between very different creatures to make these gestalt mixes complete with backstory is really impressive to see all from one person.
this death shroud sounds pretty interesting, i never got a use for the cadaver collector as is a too specfic monster, but this one might work on a bigger basis, nice job.
These fusions have got to be the most interesting and visually stunning concepts I've ever seen. The time and love that went into these creations is absolutely amazing and to be praised. On top of that to be able to come up with dark, alluring, and captivating backstories with each one is a step beyond artistic talent. Your art, storytelling, and personality are an awesome combination that make all your videos so awesome to watch and listen too. Also you have the perfect voice for alluring storytelling to the point that it gives me goosebumps. You're an amazing and I hope you keep growing and rising further to reach your goals.
Just from memory... Banette, Cofagrigus, Litwick, Lampent, Chandelure, Gourgeist, Sandygast and Pallosand are all evil, and cases can be made for a few others like Drifloon and I honestly can't remember about Froslass. Then you have tricksters like Gengar, Rotom, or Mismagius. Finally, you have misunderstood ghost types with good or benign intentions, like Dusknoir, Mimikyu, and Trevenant. And really, for the litwick line, it's just a case of having a really creepy way of obtaining sustenance.
@@ailingstar8856 My interpretation of Litwick is that they only feed off of the life energy that's already left the body. The extension of this concept has some interesting ideas for a companion creature. They most certainly could be fueled by your dying breath, but they definitely want you to live a while. The strength of their flame is determined by the rate they consume this power, so most try to keep it dim and eerie so as to extend their lives, but will burn brighter in the presence of the strong or dying (without negative consequence to either of their lives), potentially to the point of being bonfires to mourn the death of a strong being. Here's the big one. Some might purposefully burn themselves out when their trainer dies so that their light can guide their fallen friend to the afterlife.
Love the video as always. The intricate lore you build for these creatures are great and really adds something more to the artwork. That being said, Yes part 2 please.
My thoughts on these fusions: The trappinch: seems the most forced I guess out of these. It looks cool as hell, but the concept of a basically zombie that drags them under seems kinda boring. Granted if it dragged them though hell that would be cool. Grick/Sawsbuck is simple and can be used in a lot of situations, mainly ambushes but that’s not a bad thing as gricks are ambushers. And a fun thing is you could have several varieties of them like Pines, Bonsais, or whatever fits a particular region/area/or time (Christmas tree gricks anyone?). Absol/dragon: God I love this combo. Easily could be a quite guardian to a town, city or region that takes the forms of humans or whatever to warn the people of a coming threats/ dangers. Mr. Mime/Toa: Dear god this could be broken as both have similar but compatible abilities. From something like creating physical walls out of nothing to creating literally anything it wants just by itself. Mimiku/Corpuses: has a lot of versatility from familiar (possibly), to low/high cr monster, quest giver or big bad.
Rabbid Creature Have the mime/toa create physical objects and then believe they were there all along. If it feels like it’s not going to escape from a place, when being dragged away by an adventurer, there’ll be a seamless wall where the escape tunnel once was. If it feels like its mental idea for a deity cause something to be constructed, it appears.

00:10 Oh, I've been there! Pokemon was my childhood, too! It's near and dear to my heart. Oh, wow! Absol is my favorite Pokemon, Umbreon my second-favorite. Okay, these are all so amazing! The art, the descriptions and world-building and adventuring hooks, the melding of characteristics to form the inclinations of one creature! This is absolutely inspired, JessJackdaw! Amazing! Thank you! My mind is racing with the possibilities! Jess! How did you make the little Death Shroud cute?! Oh, and the music choices were amazing and inspired, too! Love the Death Shroud music! The Mourner's Mire lives on grief, right? So it would def want it's victims to keep returning! Imagine an infestation of them plaguing a town, each attack making the infestation worse and worse! Maybe the Grick also has a tentacled deer spirit (like a dryad) that is vulnerable! Maybe the Grick can make itself into any tree that is rooted near, like needle-thowing pines or Whomping Willows? And the party can't get near it and they have to lure out it's spirit? I love the idea of Tatzel Wyrms being aligned and helpful to towns! Imagine how disturbing the meathooks and flayed corpses would be walking into town, though! I wanna design the typical Tatzel Wyrm shrine! I have so many visual ideas running through my head right now! Oh, the culture! I could design a whole people around their relationship with the Tatzel Wyrm! Nay, continent! Oh gods. This Psion is something else! I noticed the ref, I remember that episode! That was something else entirely! I watched Pokémon daily throughout my childhood and still have a shoebox full of cards. Oh, no! You so wanted to make a cute one! I mean, what you could do with the Tatzel Wyrm or the Death Shroud alone! You could have this Shroud following the party, making donations and becoming first a mystery, then a moral dilemma, then a problem if not eradicated, for what does it do if the party doesn't fulfill it's requests? Does it turn on them, or go off on it's own? Does it purposefully develop chimaera-like stitched-together qualities? Can it develop sentience, and the ability to speak out of it's many mouths, and be interrogated? Can a Shroud ripped apart to it's threads and used to stitch together a monstrosity? How do individual Shrouds tackle the problem of keeping ownership and control of an ever-growing hoard? If they lose control of their corpses, does that create loose zombies? (The correct answer is "H*ll yes!" I mean, can you imagine!) What if a really powerful and old Shroud is disintegrating and leaving Revenants in it's wake as it struggles to keep going and do. . . something with it's amassed knowledge. Maybe it's been hit with Change Alignment? And as it's disintegrating it is losing bits and pieces of it's memory, but still desperately trying to stop this evil from happening, and it leads the party right to it! Maybe the party met it in battle after it was following them, and that's how it got hit by Change Alignment! The possibilities are endless! Enjoyed it?! This is amazing! Thank you so much! You're amazing! Ah! Wonderful! I can't wait to play with these! I think I wanna draw a Tatzel Wyrm shrine now! Just imagine! I can see it in my head, a low stone and wood slat building with the peeling dark teal paint, carved wood motif borders around the archway to inside with touch-worn paint, hoarfrost creeping along the blue fieldstone base, a worn cushion for kneeling upon just inside the entrance and barely out of the wind, before a low stone altar stretching the narrow space from wall to wall and then back into a recess that makes up the majority of the building, a lantern swaying on a wrought iron hook above, casting warm light on many displayed offerings, like carved wood and bone amulets, tender morsels of small animals, lamb, bowls of animal fat, crystals, and other things, while the recess is filled with warm, fresh hay, down, oakmoss, and quilts. Dark red eyes gleam from deep within. The low stone building is not yards from a popular trade route, a vast glacier in the distance, with a crevasse populated by many monsters so the local Tatzel Wyrms are the only way trade can pass through unmolested and the people here can survive. The people even look after Tatzel Wyrm kits, given the chance. Whether babysitting them for a day, or raising them. Other peoples recognize their religion, appreciate the Tatzel Wyrms, but see the religion as a bit, extreme and strange. "Worshipping a monster, even a helpful one?" The people of this icy region venerate them, and would do anything in their power to make the population density of Tatzel Wyrms even greater. Which they try, with the shrines and offerings of food. Perhaps the Tatzel Wyrm also warms of disasters, like Absol? And so help the party if they kill a Tatzel Wyrm and the locals find out about it! Or maybe they're hungry and steal an offering? Or they just get gradually more freaked-out by all of the animal corpses dangling from meathooks in the forest, and, barring any trees, from lightposts or other improvised perches.
Jessy: "If you have a mourner's mire in your life, please cut them out! Just not with a longsword." Me: *grabs greatsword* "Yeah, this is much better suited.
For Dming stealing and plagarising good villains and monsters is a keystone of the art. The trick is to steal from lesser known franchises or stories so the players don't immediately recognise them.
I love the Tatzelwurm! A scary-looking creature with a good heart, I could imagine a lot of situations to use that creature! Also I love Absol :) Oh, the Death Shroud also! Some really cool relationship could form between a party and it!
I can imagine the death shroud being really friendly and kind, but just nervous about making friends. Like it would try and help the party with little stuff unnotice while, watching from a distance all shy.
This video is really cool you could possibly use some of these creatures in your next D&D campaign PS I hope you have a beautiful day and I really would like for you to please make more videos like this one where you fuse Pokemon with DND creatures which I find incredibly cool
I feel like one could use the Tatzelwurm to make an encounter that forebodes some horrible event (in my case, a dark war threatening to destroy a town caught in the middle)
Kou-Toa Psion: Let's play a game! Me: Here in the garden, let's play a game... I'll tell you how it's done... Here in the garden, stand very still... This'll be so much fun
I watched this again and I still love the Death Shroud. Such a cool concept and a good way to lead a story or add flavor. I can imagine a tiny Shroud leaving a weed for the adventurers since grave flowers are common.
With you saying that there aren’t many good characters that are intimidating, my DM (dad) introduced a new party member, half-orc, by putting them in a situation with a goblin and a terrified nome, but because dad told me, when the party was getting in their battle stance, I said I’d lean up against a tree. They were about to slaughter the half-orc barbarian, but to make sure that they wouldn’t, the half orc slayed the goblin.

I potentially almost caused the first TPK in my campaign, by giving my DM ideas and maybe just putting the idea of advanced mimics in their head.
I was later told that the specific circumstance we did explore wasn’t inspired by my words,at least not yet
Please do a part two this seemed so cool I’d love to see more
Death shroud is just a character I needed.
The dragon and the shroud are my fave. I would actually love those in my game
dude having a Death Shroud in a campaingn would be so badass
I saw Mr. Mime and I was like "oh no"
Then when it became Ku Toa i was like "oh noooooooo!!!!"
I think the combo worked out pretty well
@@DoctorCFlare i knew it would be perfectly creepy since they compliment one another so well
Jess: Mister Mime and Kuo Toa
Me: So this is how the world ends.
@@benjaminsimons8263 yes. yes it is
When I saw the fusion I was like: "OH YEA!"
*if I run into a tatzel wurm, first instinct*
I’m gonna hug that thing
I was actually surprised, everything in these monsters has exactly what I think a good fusion needs, like seriously these are REALLY good
I just found you and I have only one thing to say:
UA-cam how could you not tell me about JessJackdraw sooner??
I would love a part two!
You have a wonderful imagination. You must be a formidable DM.
I legit just imagined a tatzel wurm chilling with me outside while I drawing. Like, bruh, it made me feel so badass for a hot sec
Here my thoughts to your "inventions":
Mourner's Mire & Trick: Even more abominations to terrorize your players ;) Good mix between their different themes (Humanoid&Teeth Mouth / Worm&Tree) Paranoia intensifies
Tatzelworm: Absolutely gorgeus design, imagine if it lets you ride on its back into battle
Kuo Toa Psion: Makes an interesting challenge, let it trap the players in games and see if they can trick it back and defeat it ("parents" also went together quite well)
Death Shroud: This has so much potential. They can behave like critters or be entirely sentient. Especially if your party has someone dabbling with necromancy, this thing could be soo interesting to deal with.
(I admit it, I would to try to communicate with it and maybe make it my lab assistant/partner in crime/ corpse disposer. The little version is also kinda cute, in a morbid way)
This was just incredible. If you told me these were official art I would have believed no questions asked.
Excellent art, even better justification for the designs. Great video, would love to see another one.
I’m sure that my players with get quite the surprise when i pull these out and they all yell out “what the hell is that?!” Everything about all of them is amazing and your art is breathtaking. Keep up the amazing work bud 😁
P.S. AHHHHHHHHHJ JESS gave my comment a heart!!!!!! This is the first time this has ever happened to me! My life is complete now
I know, right?! She gave my comment from last community post a heart and reply and it was just ammmaaazzzinnng! I need to figure out how to get a Wacom Tablet and join her online!
Casandra Hampton that’s awesome! I’m just hoping if she ever has a need for voice actors that I’ll get a chance to audition
I’m totally gonna be showing this video to my dm friends who are having encounter idea problems
Another amazing video!! I will undoubtedly be using the Death Shroud and Tatzul Worm soon!
The Tatzel wurm would go great in the Storm King's thunder campaign, while the death shroud would fit perfectly into the Curse of Strahd campaign
As a lifelong Pokémon fan and someone who’s just now starting DnD seriously, this was an AWESOME watch! I and many others would love to see a part 2!! You’ve got yourself a new subscriber
Holy moly I love the absol fusion. It’s one of my favorites too and you’ve made me super happy with this :>
+1 here

The fear in her voice says it all.
Mourner's Mire: Ghost/Ground
Trick: Grass
Tatzlwurm: Dragon/Ice
Kuo-Toa Psion: Psychic/Water
Death Shroud: Ghost/Psychic
Tatzlwurm sounds more like a Dragon/Dark, but everything else checks out.
Trick looks like a psychic and grass
To me,
The Trick should be Grass/Dark to better reflect it's violent and evil tendencies
the Tatzlwurm should probably be Dragon/Fairy to better reflect it's benevolent side
And the Death Shroud is the perfect opportunity to bring a Ghost/Normal type in my opinion. It isn't particularly evil, it isn't psychic etc but it's also not just a basic Ghost. It seems like something that would fit a Ghost/Normal type perfectly
@@sephikong8323
Fairy? _Benevolent?_
I mean, I know they're nicer in Pokemon, but seriously...
@@OrionoftheStar I know what you are saying.
But in Pokémon Fairy is often used to signify a good side and an affinity for nature and people, which is what this creature is. This is not indicative of D&D's own fairies which are pricks
The art work as always gleams, I really enjoyed the cadaver hand .
Your artistic skills with your ability to improvise names+stories for the creations is ridiculously good! I'd love to see another episode in the future!
Yes to a part two! And hey, considering 4 outta 5 were on the nightmarish side, 'tis...the...season?
We need to start a petition to get the Death Shroud into the Monster Manual.
yes
That large Death Shroud is stated out in the description and is officially the leader of a rebellious group of undead in my homebrew setting! It's name is Raggervon and I can't wait for my players to meet it! Thank you so much for bringing such an interesting concept to life!
Oddly Brandon is happened?
@@nonnolento Not just yet but fortunately my party has taken the job to clear out and find the source of a Shadowfell incursion. This rebellious group of undead will be there. Can't wait to see what they do. 😁😁😁
@@oddlybrandon5985 Update?
@@oddlybrandon5985 I'm glad it, all things considered, went well. Thanks.
The ability to render these things so beautifully visually and then also suss out the thematic links between very different creatures to make these gestalt mixes complete with backstory is really impressive to see all from one person.
Second post: I need more of these lol. Also that Mr Mime piece makes me think if Sabrina was an H.P. Lovecraft monster of a neck beard.
I can see an adventuring party taking a fallen enemies corpse to a Death Shroud to exchange the body for its memories...
As soon as I saw this my first thought was “awww yeah!”
Oh! my favorite monster just appeared! Yeah!
this death shroud sounds pretty interesting, i never got a use for the cadaver collector as is a too specfic monster, but this one might work on a bigger basis, nice job.
oh god the Kou-Toa Psion reminds me of Sabrina from the anime
It totally is. XD You caught the reference.
@@jessjackdaw YAY ME
The Death Shroud is my downright favorite - I just love its premise - its so sweet!
You're an amazing and I hope you keep growing and rising further to reach your goals.
for the record, less then half of the ghost types are evil by default.
My thoughts on these fusions:
The trappinch: seems the most forced I guess out of these.

Your monsters are amazing, keep doing it!
Gargantuan Death Shroud? Like imagine a cities worth of corpses under a cursed grand theater curtain.
I would love a part 2
I love the death shroud it would be perfect for my campaign and is super intesting for quests
"Worshipping a monster, even a helpful one?"
The people of this icy region venerate them, and would do anything in their power to make the population density of Tatzel Wyrms even greater.
Holy darn, you got a whole ton of plot here! You should be a dungeon master!
Jessy: "If you have a mourner's mire in your life, please cut them out! Just not with a longsword."
Me: *grabs greatsword* "Yeah, this is much better suited.
Mind if I use these for my campaign?
That's what the stat blocks in the description are for. ;) Go for it.
@@jessjackdaw Thanks! I have my first campaign starting tomorrow, and I can't seem to have good ideas for monsters.
Boltzo Dragon
Good luck!
For Dming stealing and plagarising good villains and monsters is a keystone of the art. The trick is to steal from lesser known franchises or stories so the players don't immediately recognise them.
@@jessjackdaw hold up, you made stat blocks for these as well?
This is incredible!
The death shroud reminds of of Vulgrim from darksiders in some twisted way, but instead of souls to eat, its bodies to claim.
I love the Tatzelwurm!

Oh, the Death Shroud also! Some really cool relationship could form between a party and it!
Death shroud is a genuinely brilliant creature design; artistically, gameplay wise, flavourwise, and unique
I NEEEEED MORE!!!! OwO
I love all of them~ Especially the Death Shroud~♥
Mourner's Mire seems right at home in the Shadowfell.
10:43 that sounded like a land dwelling version of a crab squid from subnautica

Like it would try and help the party with little stuff unnotice while, watching from a distance all shy.

for some reason i love the tiny death shroud kind of because it looks like a hand is wearing a fish costume.
This video is really cool you could possibly use some of these creatures in your next D&D campaign PS I hope you have a beautiful day and I really would like for you to please make more videos like this one where you fuse Pokemon with DND creatures which I find incredibly cool
Death Shroud = Rat King
*I SEE NO DIFFERENCES HERE*
The mimikyu cadaver guy, I would instead have a ghost that steals skin to feel human.
That would be too Mimikyu not enough Cadaver. What you've described is very much just a human sized Mimikyu.
ok but the Deathshroud would make an awesome warlock patron! :D
See, the tiny death shroud is cute as hell I would help that thing no matter what. Not so much the big one tho
I would love to see this again. maybe even some evolution forms.
Definitely need a part 2. The death shroud is such an unique concept. How did you come up with it? It is my favorite by far.
I feel like one could use the Tatzelwurm to make an encounter that forebodes some horrible event (in my case, a dark war threatening to destroy a town caught in the middle)
can... can befriend Death Shroud???
update: CAN!!!
I was not expecting something so high quality. Every single creature was legit, intriguing and of course illustrated beautifully.
Just, wow.

Here in the garden, stand very still... This'll be so much fun
I watched this again and I still love the Death Shroud. Such a cool concept and a good way to lead a story or add flavor. I can imagine a tiny Shroud leaving a weed for the adventurers since grave flowers are common.
I’m a simple person.
I see absol, I click.
I’d definitely love to see a second one of these and it’s actually inspired me to do this sort of thing myself
