I don't like American commentators as they always make very unfair comments of gymnast who aren't American, "refreshing a Romanian who can dance" please! They are the most graceful and normally the once who can dance.
Most of my countrymen don't know a f*** about gymnastics. They believe the bulldozer-like style of our tumblers (the official name of the sport being "artistic gymnastics", they hardly deserve the name of a gymnast) is the right and only way. They sincerely believe (some probably only pretend to) that Retton and Zmeskal were better than Szabo and Boginskaia, not noticing (or did they?) that before the grading system reform (which was designed for us) they only could win on US soil (Team USA in Atlanta comes to mind, too). For them, Ohashi is top-notch. We do gym like we play hockey. So did the Soviets.

Thank you sooooo much for the work you did in 1987. The Romanian floor routines were fantastic!!! Camelia Voinea's floor was my personal favorite because she actually danced and tumbled.
I'm a Silivas die-hard, to the point that I rate her higher than Comaneci herself. But nothing comes close to Oksana Omelianchik's 1985 "Little bird" routine in Montréal It was a moment of godly grace 😇
I had the honour to watch on live TV the three best Romanian floor routines in 40 years in a matter of 15 min: Dobre, Voinea and Silivas, one after the other. What a night !!

I agree but she is best on the beam that particular routine better out of canoe was pretty amazing the triple twist at the end and her dancing I didn't see that kind of dancing when she was one the 2000 Olympics you know

My all time fave is Daniella's '88 fx. It will forever hold a special place in my heart. Such a fun routine
