I think what hurts the most about Jung Bae's death is that in the third episode Gi Hun tells him to stay close to him so that he can be safe and in this episode he is shot for that same reason, because he is the closest to Gi Hun, his best friend, the person he cares the most in that place. 😢
plus the music that plays sounds very similar to when Saebyuk died last season ;_; you've even got the repeat of Gi-hun being pinned down as he's crying. But of course, this would be way more devastating for him.

During this period in South Korea, the Ganghwa Marine Corps shooting incident occurred, leading to interpret his trauma as stemming from this event

I think its inspiration came from that, and the show may tell a similar story. He also flinches thinking Player 120 may slap him. He may have been scared because of that incident. Also, I think his father forced him to join the Marines. I think he said something like, "That was my father's idea," when talking about it. It's most likely his dad made him join the Marines without a choice because he wasn't considered manly enough, being close and playing games with his four sisters.
There is still hope 246 is alive guys. They make that scene vague on viewers for a reason. Writers won't build up the connection between 246 and no. 11 since the start for nothing.
it might be that no.11 is just motivated now to help the daughter of 246 when she gets out, consider she saw her father die. But I agree, if we see no body, there is no death 100%
I'm expecting some kind of twist where whatever they harvest from him is going to be used for a treatment for his daughter, like a bone marrow transplant.
M25s aren't actually used in regular branches of military, so it would make sense that daeho didn't know how to work that gun specifically and hyunju (because she was in special forces) would :) also I FULLY believe that daeho was a Marine and not just because of mandatory enlistment lol. there're too many quirks and personality traits to his character that would be completely erased if he was lying about that. It looked a lot like complex PTSD to me, coming from somebody whose father (Marine), sister (Army soldier) and grandfather (Marine) have combat at PTSD. I'm really glad that y'all didn't just start jumping on daeho though, he gets entirely too much hate as it is😞 there's just a lot of open backstory with his character that I'm hoping we get next season because I'm so intrigued by him. 😭
I was also intrigued by the information we got about Dae-Ho's past. Definitely some intriguing stuff in the subtext about his relationship with his Dad in particular. I really enjoyed the secondary characters this season and Dae-Ho is one of my faves. I feel for him so much in this episode. My assumption is also that what we saw were PTSD symptoms. I thought I saw a couple other signs of it earlier in the season. If this is the case, the fact that he fought the Squid guards, while also fighting his own terror for as long as he did is admirable AF! And like I said, he's one of my faves so in the end, I'm glad he didn't go back with the magazines because he means he survived the season.
Player 120 is badass that's why she's my favorite character, Park sung-hoon did amazing job playing this role, she better not die in the final season 2025 or I'll be mad as fuck, Matter of fact I want her ,mother and son and pregnant lady to live because they deserve it to live happily ever after

I've thought about this for a bit, and I don't think In-Ho was wrong to call out Gi-Hun and saying he just wanted to be a hero. I say this because, if he really wanted the "X"'s to leave the game, it'd be safer to launch a pre-emptive attack against the "O"s and then try to win the vote the next day. He didn't do that because of his own moral code, even though the irony of that is pointed out when he deems it fit to sacrifice members of his "side" one moment but still stand on a high horse saying it would be wrong to shoot some of the "O"s afterwards because then they'd "become like them." He dragged the other participants into being revolutionaries with him because of a chip on his shoulder and experiences that the other participants don't entirely share with him.
And it should've been fairly easy to DEFEND against the attacking O's... no pre-emptive attack needed. Only half the O's, maybe a little more, would be willing to participate in an attack to kill. 100% of the X's could've been prepared to defend, and if they set up high ground positions, it could have even been easy to defend and win.
I'm hoping that maybe it was 011 that shot the father and it wasnt a kill shot and at some point she's going to figure out where the marked / alive victims are going and rescue him before they can harvest his organs. it seems like there was too much build up for him to just be shot and killed that quickly. Unless the guilt of his death will just result in her eventually turning.

The leader knows this too. Look at his face when he said "sacrifice yourself for the greater good." It seems like he meant "I was so hoping you'd show me that you're different and that I made a mistake in the past, but you're just like me."
He made a terrible plan. Realistically, only a fraction of side O would be willing to participate in a massacre. If they had 90% of side X ready to defend, they could defeat the maybe 60% of willingly encroaching side O easily. They would win vote and go home. Instead he let so much of the Xes be sitting ducks.
I want to believe that Gi-hun actually knows that 001 is the Front-Man and his actual 5D chess move was to sacrifice the X's to appeal to 001 and later get him to heel-turn against the VIPs a la "Darth Vader vs Palpatine". Something like "I'm willing to do anything to hurt them, trust me". Might be a HUGE stretch lol but lets see what happens next yeah in Season 3!!

You can clearly see that 246 is not shot dead. It's nr 11 shooting but she points the gun low. I saw it straight away the first time she pointed the gun lower than usual. And given the storyline with these two. One plus one is two. Not dead. She just saved his life.
I feel like Gi-hun is actually having fun playing the games especially when he picks his best friend to fight with at the end. He did everything he could to get back there. He does want to play the hero and because he is a winner the frontman is helping him. If we go back to episode 1 the salesman shows us that gamblers always pick the lottery not the bread. Gi-hun is a gambler through and through. He didn't even go and visit his daughter or talk to her once. He is not who we think he is at all.
I don’t know. I think my perspective is slightly different. I think he truly just wants others to not participate in the game. The Russian roulette to me is not about gambling about that they are not afraid of death anymore. Also honoring the game that no one is above the game. Both of them are trying to proof that one is either a garbage or a dog. But both end up honoring the game as way to show the other that they respect each other in FU way.
Now you see how evil, sadistic, manipulative, insidious the frontman is. It would be more believable if there was a twist outcome at the end of season 3 where Gi-Hun is faced with a decision to be the next Front Man. For example, be the next Front Man and continue to sacrifice people for the games or sacrifice the safety of your daughter. There is no believable outcome to change the fact that there will always be desperate people and there will always be people who will exploit that.
That's one of the reasons we went for the Korean language version. The english subtitles are the most accurate in that version. This was the same for Season 1.

Loved so much about S2, but when Gi-Hun came up with his plan it was clear he was so consumed with his own revenge that he lost sight of the bigger picture. (ty for acknowledging this point in the reaction too) When he was asked about the sacrifice for the greater good by 001, he was fine with it. I mean they could have at least warned the other X's or had them "sleep" as high as possible so they would have had a fighting chance when attacking O's tried to climb up to kick or push them back down. -This was a plan to me that didn't make any sense also because those people weren't ever there for a revolution, they wanted the money or to leave! Gi-Hun was the only one who had the feeling of vendetta because of past experience and was fine putting others at risk for it. Honestly hated this part, but guess the show is telling the viewers there really are no true heroes here.
The shootout scene in this episode is really epic. Can't wait for season 3. Heard they shot season 2 and season 3 together, so we will be getting sesson 3 most likely in the fall 2025.
I just read that supposedly Season 3 is going to pick up 20-30 years later. That better be wrong, I read it on Google main page in an interview with the creator. That could be why the Red Light, Green Light at the end might look a bit different, and that's a new group of players coming in. If it's going to be a time jump though, why introduce the soldier #11 story-line? I really like player #120 and the Mom and son.

You can clearly see that 246 is not shot dead. It's nr 11 shooting but she points the gun low. I saw it straight away the first time she pointed the gun lower than usual. And given the storyline with these two. One plus one is two. Not dead. She just saved his life.

I feel like Gi-hun is actually having fun playing the games especially when he picks his best friend to fight with at the end. He did everything he could to get back there. He does want to play the hero and because he is a winner the frontman is helping him. If we go back to episode 1 the salesman shows us that gamblers always pick the lottery not the bread. Gi-hun is a gambler through and through. He didn't even go and visit his daughter or talk to her once. He is not who we think he is at all.
I don’t know. I think my perspective is slightly different. I think he truly just wants others to not participate in the game. The Russian roulette to me is not about gambling about that they are not afraid of death anymore. Also honoring the game that no one is above the game. Both of them are trying to proof that one is either a garbage or a dog. But both end up honoring the game as way to show the other that they respect each other in FU way.

Loved so much about S2, but when Gi-Hun came up with his plan it was clear he was so consumed with his own revenge that he lost sight of the bigger picture. (ty for acknowledging this point in the reaction too) When he was asked about the sacrifice for the greater good by 001, he was fine with it. I mean they could have at least warned the other X's or had them "sleep" as high as possible so they would have had a fighting chance when attacking O's tried to climb up to kick or push them back down. -This was a plan to me that didn't make any sense also because those people weren't ever there for a revolution, they wanted the money or to leave! Gi-Hun was the only one who had the feeling of vendetta because of past experience and was fine putting others at risk for it. Honestly hated this part, but guess the show is telling the viewers there really are no true heroes here.

I just read that supposedly Season 3 is going to pick up 20-30 years later. That better be wrong, I read it on Google main page in an interview with the creator. That could be why the Red Light, Green Light at the end might look a bit different, and that's a new group of players coming in. If it's going to be a time jump though, why introduce the soldier #11 story-line? I really like player #120 and the Mom and son.
That makes no sense because the 3 people we see and their numbers match 3 people who are still alive.
