Easy question for me.. Banshee Rune, nothing else.. Heavy like a tank, but also indestructible 🙌😊

Bird aether 7 which kinda ticks a few of your own boxes barring the wheel size. Always enjoy your uploads man. Go steady.

Yeah. I am pretty much with you. A modern, alloy 29er enduro bike with a lighter build is a great option. As you know I am in love with my Bird AM9. The chassis/frame brings it together as the geometry is just so capable and stable. It can be used for a lot of different types of riding and although it will never be an XC slayer it can still do serious miles. With a bike like that you can change it's function by changing wheels, tyres, even shocks depending on how trail orientated or gravity orientated you want it. I also agree with your views on alloy. I actually really like carbon as a material however I do have concerns about it's eco-credentials 👍

Steel is good for longevity and doesn't work harden. Chris King headsets and bottom brackets are great, and have a lifetime warranty, high pivot, and a mechanical drivetrain is where its at for longevity! Definitely boost spacing, and coil shock/fork for the absolute longevity there (however lack of on the fly adjustments).

I dig steel, hence the BTR behind me but your right that there are good steel full sussers that should have been in the running. Frame material should be a prime concern for a forever frame. I've had king headsets before and I think for the money I'd bank on Hope just as much. Still see drivetrain as a mid term consumable. 🤘

@@StravaigingMTB yeah, the fact that a drivetrain is a consumable means that mechanical is best, that way if the derailleur is destroyed, it's easier to replace cost wise. Also, you can get lucky and use 12 speed slx/xtr with GX/XO1/XX1 eagle with next to no issue. Or at least, that's what I've heard and seen here on UA-cam. Kinda wishing road stuff was still compatible with mountain stuff without a wolftooth tanpan or equivalent. (SRAM AXS doesn't count lol)
