definitely sharing this, my brother and i just started playing a bit ago and really getting into it. this is way ahead of what we had considered doing. cant wait to try it out. will probably build one for wood and one for coral and use the extra for leveling crafting. thanks for the great vid! cant wait to see more with better lighting! lol
Another great tutorial! Only suggestion is to maybe eat something with Glow so that it's easier for us to see as you're placing things and inside the farm? On my computer it's easier to see, but on a phone it was super dark for me. Really appreciate all the guides! Would love to see a best foods guide for specific builds (melee, ranged, bosses) next!
this has been suggested and I agree. I have already made all my April videos so you may still experience some darker parts, but starting in May all my tutorials will have much better glow. I even have a glow build just for this now.
Great build & tutorial! I just made both a wood and coral farm in my world - if you take suggestions, could you do a semi-auto cooker next? One that would dump the ingredients in the cooker but you still go and collect it so that you gain the benefit from the Master Chef talent? Keep up the great vids!
So I ran a test where I only had it 5 tiles of root seeds "deep" instead of 6 (making it one tile more compact just because I lacked the seeds), and it ended up giving me better results over a 3 hour period with about a 20% better efficiency when I compared the two after obtaining more seeds, not sure if this is worth researching, but just thought I would mention it. would love to see if anyone else has done something like this.
Hey Dakon, could I suggest a couple things for these videos in the future? For one, maybe some sort of lamp equipped on the character so we can see you and the build easier as you are building it; and for two, maybe starting with the outline framework initially before you start the guttyworks? Just personal suggestions that I think would make it easier. I (again personally) build things easier once the framework of a build is set so I have a visual guide to follow, such as "now go 5 tiles up from this corner here and cut across to the other end and lay in the stone tiles" rather than cutting across while still laying out the framework. It confused me greatly, like working with an etch-a-sketch. Maybe that's just my minecraft brain at work, take them for a grain of salt. However, even if you don't take my second point to heart, I do think at least equipping a lantern would be nice so that we could at least see you in the darkness a little easier.
I take it you watch on a mobile device? I've been told the videos are darker on mobile. I don't watch my videos on mobile and I don't really make them with mobile in mind. Though I've recently made a glow build to help with this. Just so you know I make my videos a month in advance so don't expect any changes any time soon as I've already finished all of May's videos and there are several build videos coming up where I have 0 glow on the build.
yes, something I learned like...a day after posting this video. 6 tiles is fine, and you probably won't notice the difference unless you're really focusing on min/maxing. But ya, 5 is more efficient.
its preferred, otherwise you're creating several small branches instead of one single branch. I wish I knew how to properly explain this part but every time I try it gets so convoluted. If you have all the side roots connect to a single master trunk, they all grow along the master trunk. If you don't, then some of the roots won't grow all the way down to where we want to harvest.
the wildwarden armor shouldn't go into the tablesaws, so the robot arms will just move them into chests. From my perspective nothing needs to change. Just keep a closer eye on your farm to ensure that you dont fill it up with breastplates.
@@DakonsMadhouse Ah, I think I see. I think this actually makes wood farms one of the best sources of scrap now as well? If I remember, woodwarden items drop quite a bit, and from such a renewable and easily farmable source, you should actually be able to get a lot of scrap from them.
damn I thought I was smart by adding a drill and isolating wood, but this is on a whole different level, thanks for the tutorial
Very informative and super overpowered while remaining compact. Will def come back to this video later today to build the farm

ya sorry about the lighting in that one. its an older video. =P I have an insane glow build now so no more lighting worries.
just started playing a week ago and this is what i need right now, this is so good! instantly subscribed

this is genius. I'll defenetly build this.

actually 5 is better than 6. I made it 1 tile too large in the video. I learned this after making the video of course.
Thank You!

Do you have any written version regarding this?
nope
I heard 5 tiles are better than 6 tiles. Is that true?
yes, something I learned like...a day after posting this video. 6 tiles is fine, and you probably won't notice the difference unless you're really focusing on min/maxing. But ya, 5 is more efficient.
does this work for the blue wood too?
yep. all wood types.
Is it really necessary to wait for first row to grow fully before planting other columns?

What kind of floors do you use now that city floors are gone?
city floors still spawn, but the floor tile doesn't matter much. anything will do.
@@DakonsMadhouse Oh wow okay then the wiki isn't accurate ty for responding!
@@idc9419 oh ya there are 2 wikis and both are out of date in different ways.
@@idc9419 you can still get the tiles in the stone biome. but wood floor works too. I chose those because they were the first ones I grabbed.
So what are you going to do now that woods can drop woodwarden armor? That'd mess up the tablesaws surely, or at least cause a mess.
the wildwarden armor shouldn't go into the tablesaws, so the robot arms will just move them into chests. From my perspective nothing needs to change. Just keep a closer eye on your farm to ensure that you dont fill it up with breastplates.

Damn this is just too much wood xD
it is a lot of wood. more than you'll ever need. Its why I designed it with a switch to turn it off once you're done.
Yea there isn't any need for this volume of lumber but you can adapt what's learned here for a smaller farm.
Thanks, great design, really like the perfomance of this thing!
But to be honest, you're overexplaining it, video could be about 2-3 minutes long imo
