Join us for a public seminar to reflect collectively on the practice and potential of a contemporary art programme across Norfolk.
This online event will bring together artists, writers, producers and curators to reflect on programming and participating in contemporary art biennials. Contributors include:
Daniel Brine
Daniel Brine is Artistic Director and CEO at Norfolk & Norwich Festival.
Nell Croose Myhill
Nell has worked for over ten years in the field of arts education, working primarily in art galleries, universities and artist-led spaces. Nell is Learning Programme Manager for Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.
Julia Devonshire & Kaavous Clayton
Julia Devonshire and Kaavous Clayton are artists, curators, producers and placemakers. They formed originalprojects; in 2001 as a collective nomadic precursor to founding OUTPOST Gallery (2004) before pursuing arts jobs in the region. They have revived originalprojects; in Great Yarmouth modelling an artist-led approach to living in and working with place, community, industry and heritage.
Rosy Gray
Rosy Gray is Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery. Rosy has developed exhibitions, projects and commissions across a range of public institutions, most recently at Ferens Art Gallery as part of Hull City of Culture 2017.
Henry Jackson Newcomb
Henry Jackson Newcomb is an artist, musician and digital creative based in Norwich. As the Visual Arts Coordinator for The Assembly House Trust Henry launched a free arts programme, Assembly Online, in April 2020 and has since hosted regular live-stream events every two weeks via UA-cam.
Ed Krčma
Ed Krčma is Associate Professor of Art History at UEA
Sarah Lowndes
Sarah Lowndes is Research Fellow at NUA, Director of Kunsthalle Cromer and Curator at The Yare Gallery, a new, free to enter art gallery for Great Yarmouth. She has curated exhibitions and projects for galleries, museums and public spaces in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Berlin, Norwich and Cromer.
SIemon Scamell-Katz is a painter
Veronica Sekules
Veronica Sekules is an environmentalist, curator, writer, founding head of education at the Sainsbury Centre with experience working internationally. Now she is director of GroundWork Gallery in King’s Lynn concentrating on the environment.
Jonathan P. Watts
Jonathan P. Watts writes about contemporary art and organises exhibitions and events. Based in Norwich, he was co-director of the art gallery LOWER.GREEN in Anglia Square and now helps run the Norwich gallery Josey.
