Brilliant video 👏👏❤
Hi, I'm in the first phase as an artist, experimenting and educating myself, living in a small town in India. And I'm 60 years old, dreaming of being an artist now, thinking it's never too late. Thank you for this wonderful, insightful video that gives me hope and encouragement to continue on this journey.
Hi Neeta, that's terrific! Wishing you all the best, and especially enjoy the journey! Have a great day
I’m so excited to hear about your art journey! You’re right, you can become an artist at any age!!! Wishing you luck!
@@contemporaryartissue Thanks a lot 🙏
@@beverlytheartist425What a terrible mentality & shameful trying to discourage someone else from pursuing their own dream.
Good for you! I wish you all the best on your new journey
Step 0: buy a black turtleneck sweater.
Spot on 😂
Fortunately, the turtle neck is an integral part of my daily wardrobe.
I'll get a grey turtleneck. We must stand out these days, as an artist 🙂
Step 0.A ... Have a cool accent
@@mikesamovarov4054 Oh you’re a wild one!🔥
I think Warhol said that he felt a responsibility to everyone that bought his art, because now his job is to keep consistently producing art and to appear on interviews and have this image to make his art be more valuable, because the image of the artist - his story, history and personality is a major point of success in the art world. So that said, I think that today, artists, by using social media, need to create their own world, where its 50/50 - 50% about their art, and 50% about themselves and the process. Btw documenting the process will eliminate doubt if the artist has used AI, which would make the work have this aura of authenticity and originality
Absolutely. Artists with charisma and personality are also much more likely to become successful. Social media is indeed a must today-it's a proof of life and a glimpse into the artist's personality. When it comes to documenting the process, I am not sure if we need to take pictures of every piece at every step-but the proof of actual studio activity is for the artist's archive for sure. Thank you for tuning in and for this excellent contribution to the topic. Have a great day!
Very thought provoking opinion... so, an artist is selling themselves as much as their art. Well, that's me done... My life has been too unbelievable for anyone to believe that I didn't make it all up!!
lol...warhol would be using AI. not printmaking techniques & paint... jesus.. what planet are you on
cracks me up you use warhol as a reference in the context of modern image making
@@paulcorfield_artist how did you get started commercially? Was it post on instagram or web store front?
Dear .... I always watch your videos. It has been useful for me as a self-taught artist. I am now 60 years old. I have been working since 1983. I used to write poems since childhood. I entered the field of painting completely by chance. I was working as a photographer in Sharjah. Dali's paintings I saw when I went to a friend's house on a day off changed me a lot. But since I was a child I used to find shapes on mossy walls. It was just that. My painting experience. I don't write poems anymore. Words became full strokes. So far, the creativity has been sustained even in the face of financial hardship. My ambition is to paint till my last breath while listening to music. I was juggling many jobs to advance my painting career. Many people ask, do not all the paintings sell? I will lie that I am. Now my children say firmly. Keep drawing as you wish. So I am satisfied.
Thank you for sharing your experiences and thoughts 🙏
Thank you for this info. I'm 54... Just painted on my first canvas March 2023... After a life of constantly being discouraged by teachers, never really having support from 'friends' and told I was going to Hell by my family for wanting to be in the arts, I feel like it's now or never... I don't know if I can ascend the lofty heights of being in galleries, but once I feel more confident, I would just want others to like what they feel when they look at my pieces... Still exploring with student canvases and cost efficient paints atm... But learning so much organically. All of this information is very encouraging... 🙏
You have plenty of time, you got this! ^_^
They told you that? What a lie. Jesus Himself is the greatest artist, He made everything! God bless you.
Go for it!! As Vincent Van Gogh said: "If you hear a voice within you (or from others) say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced." Because you paint, you are a painter!!
Don't just study art and the art world, learn about people, sociology, nature, psychology, pain, love, LIVE A LOT it doesnt matter how much you know about art and how many fancy words you can throw in a conversation, you need to know about the world, follow your interests, "FIND SOMETHING YOU LOVE AND LET IT KILL YOU". (bukowski) and then tell the world about that experience through art (: Share your trascendental subjective experiences.
Wonderful comment! I absolutely agree! Have a great day and thank you for this most valuable contribution. All my best, Julien

Thank you for sharing so much knowledge on You Tube. Having set aside taking art A level and potentially going to art school for the sensible option of science A levels and a career in bookkeeping, I am now rediscovering my love of art and committing to teaching myself and developing my art as far as I can.
Your videos are boss level. Thank you for such great knowledge.

Many thanks

Congratulations and for sharing valuable information as a fellow artist.
The pleasure is all mine. Thank you for tuning in!
As a working class man, I am self taught, because my parents would never have been able to send me to art school, even now as a working man I couldn’t afford to go to art school. Also, only 8% of artists in the uk are from working class backgrounds, so it isn’t just being self taught that is the problem, it is a host of problems.
Just having time to create art is a problem. I always wonder how some of those New York genuises managed. Where did the funds come from? A lot of post-modern stuff is not that interesting, yet it gets into galleries. On the other hand, how much of it actually sells? The market is not that broad.
Wonderful. Very well done. I would recommend this to anyone.
The pleasure is all mine! Thank you for watching and for your most kind words. I appreciate it
Thank you.

Fantastic talk.
Thank you 🙏
Thanks this is super helpful. I’m still not sure I want to go all the way with it.
In any field, there are always many traps that, if even conspicuous as such, seem innocuous. They can follow you around like a dark cloud, but it’s hard to avoid them. Success is more about what someone doesn’t do than what someone does. The art world is no exception.
Perfect video for me. Thanks

Amazing content. I do fallow you here and in instagram. Keep on the good work.

Heel graag gedaan!
Hello dear.
like your all videos full of adivse and nice teaching as well.
very interesting for me.
best regards
That's great to hear, thank you for tuning in and sharing this!
I believe all artist are asking for help. In making art asking for help is part of the creative process. The help offered by CAI in my opinion is the most concrete and beneficial. Artist can not establish themselves with out the support of the art community. At all levels there is collaboration. The challenge is finding help in putting the puzzle together.
That is wonderfully put to words. We all need some guidance or direction at some point. Reaching out to more experienced or successful artists can often be life-changing for the young emerging artist. So I can only encourage sharing knowledge, experience, and information in the art community and try do contribute as best as I can myself. Thank you Daniel, have a great day!
Thank you for sharing your success story. Congratulations.🎉
Cheers to us all self-taught artists who are passionately working towards making your mark in the world.
Here are the following steps for success:
1. Experiment
2. Educate
3. Experience
4. Art Portfolio
5. Artist Profile
6. Make a Career
That's right, cheers! Thank you for tuning in and wishing you all the best

Your video are amazing one better than another! I studied art but even though I just learn from you as a mentor and I think it’s a great pitty that we do not learn this in fine art accademy or university! Thanks so much, could you please make a video to know as emerging artist how to behave with our collectors or when we sell artworks how professional send to collector or when galleries or colloctors are interested in pur works how is best way of answering them explain ourselves pr be in contact 🙏🏻many thanks
Thank you for your video and advices! I would like to ask you one question: why does art world not approve blogs? Maybe are there ways of doing blog and not harm own art career ?
Great question. Blogging is seen as low-culture and does not achieve the level of an art platform in terms of design, authors, and even the academic quality of text-especially when you blog about your own studio practice, which makes it seem as if you are "trying too hard" or trying to impose yourself. In the end, it is all about the format. If you would like to create an art blog, you would have to keep things very separate from your own practice. If you want to create content about your own practice, Instagram and possibly UA-cam (if you do not go too "vloggy") are better options. Hope this might help!
Thank you
To b honest, I am not an art guy at all. However. I watched and listend to your video and I have strange feeling that you launched a sensation of curiosity in me.
To my surprise I started to watch other videos about art. It is imprrssiv how some artist succeed to influence/touch people.
By the way, do you also have videis on sculpture?
Many thanks for the great video 👍🏿
Organic career development is great, but we still need to pay our bills and put food on the table for our families!

So I know that I'm an artist. Iv never went to school for it.
Art was my outlet, my safe place to go as a young kid/teen from a broken family.
Have You ever whent walking in the woods. And see a beautiful tree, an question why that tree grows the way it did?
You ever see rock/ stone an question every thing about it? ? ?
NATURE IS ART, and Life is art.
please go walking around in the woods an that is True ART, at its rawl an roughed form.. be for humans hands changed it an made rules
I’m so glad I’m an amateur producing for fun not income.
The first phase - experimentation and learning is all that matters.
Crucial indeed!
