I love hats, I wear them almost every day. When I pick out my outfit I pull a hat out. I think I look good in hats. I have hat boxes. I’ve never worn a fascinator but I’d like to buy one.
This is helpful and really fun. Even if 2013 seems a while ago now, I think it will still work for us who are choosing hats for summer 2017! One of the very few things I envy royalty and celebrities for is being able to get new and wonderful hats all the time and have places to wear them!
Thanks for the comments Elisabeth. The years come and go - but there are some common hat shapes that are always reinvented with new materials, colors and accents. The principles of choosing hats can still apply, no matter what new hats are being invented! As for having more places to wear hats - how about to the next wedding you attend....or wear a large brim hat to shade the sun next time you take a walk. Think of function as well as fashion!

Very helpful and inspiring video. My jawline is so square it could be used as a geometry tool. This means I have a complicated relationship with millenary. I have recently started trying to make my own clothes, based on vintage styles. I have consequently revisited the hat situation. I thought the hats you showed were so beautiful. Jacqueline, the thing to remember when you introduce glasses to your face, is it chances the visual appearance of your face shape. You become wider across your eyes. Best thing to do is put on the glasses and look in the mirror, and review your face shape. Good example is what sunglasses, do to a face shape. Everyone looks good in a sun hat, and sunglasses. Any shape will do--just be sure to wear the hat slightly lower at the front to lift your face.
Any hat advise for shorter ladies?
Wear Heels, Keep the hat bream in line with shoulders, not bigger. pick a hat that you wear not a hat that wears you.
