A brilliant video. I've worn many styles of earrings & never understood why some pieces, although adored, never quite looked right. Now at 52, with your advice I finally get it! It's never too late to learn. Your help has come about right, my confidence & skills to look attractive need a boost (as I've aged!) Thank you so much Marilyn, I could listen to you all day, what a joy!
This is one of the most outstanding videos I have ever seen regarding earings! I grew up in the fashion biz and you are a treasure!! SO grateful for your expertise!!!XX
This is the best demonstration in the universe (pardon for my hyperbolic language) .. but you are really helpful, and now I could help my friends as well and sounds like an expert
I was waiting for you to show the narrow face shape. Narrow at the forhead, wider at the cheek bone area and narrower at the chin. As you can probably see in my pic. Round earings, up by my ear seems to look the best to me. Definately not hanging, long earrings. :)
Lovely earrings and lovely video! I've 2 questions about the round face shapes. 1) What type of earring should you be looking for if you have long hair but short neck or problematic neck (for round faces). 2) Do you mean that since the area under the earlobes are smaller (length wise) for round faces and we should be careful to keep the bulk of the earrings within this smaller area and keep it more angular?
Thank-you so much! I have been lost in trying to figure out what my face shape is as well for what earrings suit my particular face shape. I have watched so many videos on youtube and through other websites and they seem to confuse me as one website explained differently to another. But this video was amazing and was indeed very easy to follow. Thank-you so much!! love from Australia!! .xo
This was so nice, I never wear earrings because I have a pear/squarish face. Maybe ill try to wear some now that I know that I should keep the bulk of the earring around the ear and not dropped, as with the rounder, or oval face. Thanks!
i thought this was interesting, thanks for sharing this, i liked your jewellry especially the necklace you had on in this video, it was eye-catching. any chance you maybe interested in doing another video about necklace styles, shapes and sizes that suite different face shapes i have a heart shaped face or a round face, and i some times wonder, how it looks when i want to wear a pretty chunky type of necklace?
I like your suggestion. This year the two new videos will be "Be Brave: Add prints to your wardrobe" and "Putting Your Best Shoe Forward" I am also working on more best scarf videos, France and Italian style. But I will put down neck lines and jewelry, for next year. Thank you
Thank you, and i will see your new, videos, when, they become, available, and look on your website for that necklace you were, wearing in the video, as i was very interested in it, was pretty.
I came across this video and was excited to see what kind to wear because I feel like I look differnet with earrings, however I don't see my face shape. I have a very long face with a square chin, any suggestions? thank u
I really like true professionals teaching us regular people! I havs had enough of those girls who only thibk and love themselves when they post videos here.
Yes, thank you for asking. I'm 70 and trying for a youthful & more fashionable look - not matronly. There are millions of us 'baby boomers' with the same issue. The scarves elevate our look. Do you recommend contemporary lines or neutrals vs. bright colors? How can we look younger and more vibrant?
@@goodwillbunny5773 I remember when I decide to get regular facials, I told my facialist, I do not need to look younger, I just want to look healthy. I think it is the same with dressing yourself. Cloths should be clean, well fitting, and updated to for the times. This does not mean trends, but a reflection of the times we live in. If you go to a store and see all of one style, you should think of how you can work that style into your wardrobe. Scarves, a great item in a wardrobe for anyone, any age. It should be treated as you would jewelry. We will be doing a whole series on scarves in 2019. Yes, color, prints, contemporary lines can make you younger and more vibrant. but watch their proportions to you body shape.Thank you for the feed back
This is a really good video! I was wondering though because I don't know what would look best on me...I have an oval face and the wides part is at my cheekbones also I have a pointy jaw line. Many thanks!
Mariekr49- no problem. follow direction on widest part of your face and square jaw line. The shape of the earring will stay be the same for a square face, except you will be able to wear longer earrings. Lucky you.
Stephanie, I would suggest a earring 1 1/2 to 2 inches long, depending on chin length. Try our website online sales, and the MX jewelry is a good collection for what you are looking for. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call 239-206-4460
Best advice... Experiment. You will eventually know what looks good on u. U can't pinpoint style. Our body changing all the time along with our mood and personality.
I reviewed the video, and the first face shape (oval) shows good examples on the kind of earrings you can wear. One tip, the more open your neck line, the longer you can wear the earring and it will look good. That is way chandelier earrings look so well with strapless dresses.
Every earring that was placed high was well above the ear lobe. Earrings, especially ones that dangle at all, go in the ear lobe, not the the top of the ear, so all these earring placements were not realistic.
Melissa you are right the prospective is wrong, but we had to do this size so it would be better to see, when talking about the principles of face shape in connection with earring shapes. Thank you Marilyn
When choosing Jhumka earrings for a "round" face shape - look for the drop earring styles - longer shaped earrings help to counterbalance the round shape of the face. Try them on and look in the mirror with longer, linear earring styles - avoid "round" earring styles.
Studs can be used for any face shape if small. The bigger the stud, the more you have to consider, Hair style, hair length, and face shape. For a round face with short hair, I would keep the studs small and geometrically shaped. Stay away from round studs. If your hair is long, you can get bigger with your studs, but if you can, always stay away from round studs. Hope this helps. Thank you for your comment.
I am so glad you liked the video. Earrings are a big part of fashion and help light up the face, which makes you look prettier and younger. Try color first, it is so rewarding. If you need help give me a call at the shop. 239-206-4460
Best demonstration I have ever seen to show how to wear earrings and to explain face shapes, with a classy lady.

The widest part of a diamond shape face is not the forehead, it's the cheekbone area
Good Point. Thank you
Yes I’m a diamond and the cheekbones are at widest point
I thought so too
It is correct

How are you supposed to bring the earring that high on a square face other than using a cuff earring that wraps around the ear somehow?
This is very educative and brilliant. This help me so much on choosing the type of earrings i want to buy and invest.

Great video! I've always thought face shape as related to hair styles. However, face shape also influence what type of earring works best! Thanks!

Great video! Thank you.
How do wear earrings when you have double chin or marionette lines?
Cluster, button, or stud styles will bring the attention upward on your face and distract from any lines or double chin.

You can use the heart shape face for a diamond shape face

what about the rectangel shape face?
Follow the same advise as the long oblong.
