For everyone who has eye floaters and are currently in panic: keep on reading. I first encountered floaters when I was about 19 but somehow they moved out of my field of vision, then at 27 I suddenly had a bunch of them. At that time I also had bad anxiety, stress etc and I couldn’t stop looking for the floaters that it became a daily obsession. But: I overcame it. It WILL get better! Try to find the core of where the anxiety comes from, maybe with a little more help like therapy or someone you trust to talk to. Strangely, I still have floaters but I barely notice them because I’m not scared of them anymore. The mind can be a powerful ally or your biggest enemy. If I can do it, you can do it too!

I've heard that the "thread" or "squiggly" floaters are caused by the breaking up of blood vessels present in the eye during fetal development, which continue to break up as you age, which is why floaters typically increase with age. This is of course true if there are no other visual or neurological conditions. Hi Andrea, It is important to seek advice from an ophthalmologist, especially if you notice a sudden onset or increase in the number of floaters you see. Usually floaters are common and normal. In some cases, floaters can be a sign of other conditions. Monitor your symptoms: Pay attention to any changes in your floaters or your vision, such as flashes of light, loss of peripheral vision, or a sudden increase in the number of floaters. Hi Prabhat, your eye doctor can see eye floaters during a dilated eye exam. Your doctor will give you some eye drops to dilate (widen) your pupil and then check your eyes for floaters using various optometric tools with light, lenses etc (it is painless). It is best to check your floaters with your Doctor. Floaters are relatively common, but if they start bothering and obstructing your vision, it is best to check them to find a solution based on your medical history. We hope that helps!

Hi there, This can be BFEP: Which includes excessive floaters in both eyes, excessive blue field entoptic phenomenon (uncountable little grey/white/black dots or rings shooting over the visual field of both eyes when looking at homogeneous bright surfaces such as the blue sky), self-lighting of the eye (colored waves or clouds perceived when closing the eyes in the dark), and spontaneous photopsia (bright flashes of light) For more information: www.visualsnowinitiative.org/diagnostic-criteria/ It is always best to check with your Physician. Hi there, there is currently no treatment for removing eye floaters. Sometimes the best treatment is nothing at all. Coping with eye floaters is the least invasive option to protect your eyes. If the floaters become really disturbing or begin to impair your vision, discuss your options with your medical professional. If according to your doctor/specialist, then the most common treatment for eye floaters will either be a vitrectomy or laser therapy. We hope this helps. It is always best to speak to your doctor.

I’ve lived with VSS for about 23 years now and my way of life has been pretty good. Don’t be scared. You’ll learn to live with it. Not to say it won’t be annoying some days. But you can have a normal life. We both and others who suffer with this should be grateful that there’s a name for what we’re going through. I only found out about VSS about 2 months ago. So don’t lose hope. I can honestly say I’m excited for what’s to come knowing there’s research into VSS.

While eye floaters cannot directly cause you to go blind, if they are caused by a serious underlying retinal condition, it could lead to blindness if not treated. If your retina has a bleeding hole, is inflamed, even has retinal detachment, and you do not receive proper treatment, it may lead to blindness.

Hi there, It is best to check your floaters with your Doctor. Floaters are relatively common, but if they start bothering and obstructing your vision, it is best to check them to find a solution based on your medical history.

i have those floaty sphere like rainbow thingies in my eyes. also I control my eye floaters, I am their master.
But what if this particular a usual type of floater started to appear in my field of visual with independent movement. Is there such thing as eye worm?

Can u plzz tell me how doctors detect that I have eye floaters...can it be detected through slit lamp examination...waiting for your reply 🙏..please reply as it's an emergency situation for me 🙏
Hi Prabhat, your eye doctor can see eye floaters during a dilated eye exam.

Hi Jared, Lol loving the joke! Keep it up💙
@@VisualSnowInitiative pls tell me what to I have floater and whenever is see any bulb and then shift my vision I see shadow of that tubelight for long time
I can't see a thing out of my right eye and all of the doctors keep downplaying it. I'm a voice over too so I can't read scripts properly. It's so flipping frustrating.
I'm 18 and I have probably perhaps around 15 small floaters but they tend to be disturbing is there a way to destroy them? I'm only 18 so that means I should be entirely new
Eye floaters do not necessarily go away over time, but they become less noticeable if you ignore them or focus on something else. If they are excessive and limiting your vision, it is best to check with your doctor if they can provide further treatment such as a vitrectomy
We hope that helps!
I have😢
Can anyone explain why when I’ve sat down for a while then sit up, I see like this static stuff everywhere then can’t see and get dizzy for a minute, does anyone know what this is and why it happens, it happened just a second ago and I felt dizzy so I set my phone down and fell on my bed
I used to get these all the time when I was little and I remember thinking "what on earth? That's weird and maybe bad I should tell my mom" am then proceeded to forget up until now 😂

it's crazy, I'm thirteen and i have them I can see small white lining thing and when I notice them they fade away
Yeah, I had eye floaters. But, why do I see flashing light when it's dark in the room? Is this normal, or what? 😭 im really scared, please, answer this
Hi there,
This can be BFEP: Which includes excessive floaters in both eyes, excessive blue field entoptic phenomenon (uncountable little grey/white/black dots or rings shooting over the visual field of both eyes when looking at homogeneous bright surfaces such as the blue sky), self-lighting of the eye (colored waves or clouds perceived when closing the eyes in the dark), and spontaneous photopsia (bright flashes of light)

Hi there,
It is always best to talk to your Doctor on your symptoms to get proper management and treatment
@@VisualSnowInitiative ok thanks!
How do you get rid of it because there's no video how
Hi there, there is currently no treatment for removing eye floaters.

Still scared for my life...Am 10 and I see like grey dots on my white wall and also on the floor. They like move or smth like that, am very RELIVED thats its normal to have "grey dots" I couldn't breathe for like a second my heart stopped- ama ask some of my friend if they also have floaters
Yes it sometimes it scares me all the time their blobs
I had an accident on my left eye, so I started seeing it ever since I was a child but nobody could relate to me lol

So how i can spend that problem
I see a black dot sometimes or multipe
I have VSS and floaters too.
Do floaters are laser removable?
Hi there,
Laser treatment is not commonly used to eliminate floaters because it can be risky and may not always be effective. In some cases, floaters may settle or become less noticeable over time on their own. If floaters are causing significant disruption to your vision and quality of life, it's essential to consult with your Doctor. They can assess your situation and discuss potential treatment options, which may include surgical procedures.
We hope that helps!

Can we go blind from having floaters and flashes and visual snow?pls reply
While eye floaters cannot directly cause you to go blind, if they are caused by a serious underlying retinal condition, it could lead to blindness if not treated. If your retina has a bleeding hole, is inflamed, even has retinal detachment, and you do not receive proper treatment, it may lead to blindness.
