  • Well, LS Tractor sent a LOANER while we negotiate on the XR3035 LS Tractor. It is the XG3025 LS Tractor. Did they fix the frame issue with this tractor? Has the oil leak stopped?

This is the only known major issue from LS and the redesign has fixed it. LS is a name brand and not an off brand. Just like all of the other brands on the market these days they are all made in South Korea.
My dad has a Kubota L3600 tractor and these LS XG3025 tractors are stronger and can lift more. He has had issues with his Kubota front axles breaking from time to time.

Most other tractors are NOT made in Korea. Maybe you get that impression because LS makes tractors branded as Case IH, CLAAS, Farmtrac, LS, McCormick, Montana, and New Holland there?

I had the same type of problem with Mahinda . I went through two of them neither was dependable. Resolved the problem by biting the bullet and upgrading to a Kubota. Should have investing in the Kubota in the first place. The Kubota is such a better unit. Well worth the extra $

Rather than take the XR3035 away and play the game of "let's diagnose this and negotiate how we will resolve this for you," the dealer truck and trailer should have had on it a BRAND NEW tractor. Not a loaner. Not a refurbished. No, they just needed to swap it out. It would have saved on the dealer hauling twice now, and the man-hours supposedly spent on techs looking into things - yet again!!!! I said supposedly because you have no way of knowing what was actually done on your tractor the nine times it was back in the shop; what they say and invoice you for is not necessarily what was done - or needed. And now, your suspicions of them doing little to nothing to resolve these issues is at an all-time high.

I too had my mind changed from LS and Kioti to John Deere or Kubota and went with the Kubota. Do they cost more, well that depends if you only count initial cost. Kubotas and John Deeres may cost a little more initially, but they work and their dealerships stand behind the products they sell.....for the most part. I'm sure there are some who had had problems with a Kubota or John Deere. The Kubota's and John Deeres start to cost less when the LS and Kioti's start to have problems and the dealerships can't or won't fix them and the you have no support from the manufacturer. To me something that doesn't work isn't worth anything.......no matter how many free options came on it. Another place John Deere and Kubota will cost you less is at trade in time. See what your LS or Kioti is worth at trade in time vs Kubota or John Deere. I think both LS and Kioti suffer at least somewhat from the dealers that sell them. Most of them are sold by dealers who never sold tractors or farm equipment before. They're mower shops that sell and work on lawn mowers, garden tractors, chainsaws and etc. and I think that is some of the problem. Their mechanics are not tractor or farm equipment mechanics. I believe that kioti tractors that are sold by some real farm equipment and tractor dealers might be much better taken care of. I would also add that the Compact New Holland tractors are made for them by LS which might explain why New Holland compact tractors aren't nearly as popular as they once were!

It's kind of telling that your dealer still has the tractor you traded in, after all this time they haven't been able to sell it. Maybe people are starting to catch on to LS tractors problems? Before I started watching youtube videos about problems with LS tractors (and in fairness there are videos from people who love their LS tractors as well) I went to the LS website and did the search for my local dealer. I went to "my local LS dealers website" and it was a small engine repair and lawn a garden dealership. They had a section on "Brands we handle." There was no LS listed in the brands we handle but I did find a listing for LS tractors on another page but I had to hunt for it and it didn't list any in stock tractors. I called my local "LS dealer" and was told by the dealership that they no longer sell LS tractors, that they and "LS tractors had parted company." (there was a bit of hostility in his voice). I send an email to LS telling them I was interested in their tractors but that the dealership they had listed for my area didn't sell LS tractors anymore so could please tell me the next closest dealer. I got an email back from LS giving me the exact same dealer information as the dealer I told them, who told me that they no longer deal with LS tractors. I also suggested that LS should maybe spend some time on finding out who is and who isn't selling their equipment. At that point though, I already knew I wanted no part of owning an LS tractor!

In my opinion Kubota is the only good quality tractor left out there, thats coming from a guy that worked 16 years as a tractor mechanic, that includes all brands. I worked for ford and JD, the only tractors I wouldn't work on was the ones you couldn't get parts for. The New Hollands, (Ford) went to crap. Not sure about JD's, been awhile since I messed with tractors. Spant the last 20 years as an industrial hydraulics tech servicing the offshore industry.... Now, forced retirement due to battling and winning against stage 3 lung cancer. Just couldn't beat the chemo and radiation...LOL.....

That WAS what you said was wrong with the first Tractor !! From the very beginning. Lol. I wonder how many other people told them the same thing. That little ding needs some paint, at least primer to stop it rusting. What a bummer though that they only fixed it AFTER you had to spend even more money. You should be charging THEM for being a bloody Beta-Tester (something the manufacturing process should've included WAY before it got to the assembly line) and finding all the bugs in the new tractor. (Apologies for my language, I just get so frustrated on your behalf) l wonder if the mail dump we joined in had any effect on them, when the bosses in-boxes start overflowing there's bound to be some Farm Fertiliser "... rolling downhill" as they say. 👍

In the automotive industry there is a heavily frowned upon practice of taking in used units at a reduced trade in value because of an issue the dealer knows is covered under warranty but not admitting it.Then repairing it at the manufactures cost and the dealer keeps all the profit when they sell it on the used lot.
Its legally something like warranty disclosure fraud to purposely increase used unit profit margin end use....
it smells like your dealer is screwing you and the manufacturer when I sniff it.
All four American branded car dealers I worked at did it too some degree at one point or another. It was very common for them to make a claim for warranty work in the customers name AFTER the vehicle was traded in and did not belong to them anymore.

LS was once called "Farmtrac";" Longtrac" and originally "Long" made in NC. When India got involved with the Framtrac name things went downhill. Closed the NC factory and started importing these tractors. They have always had engine, and hydralic problems. The Long and Longtrac were good solid frames. Framtrac light weight fames on all models. My 75 HP had to be replaced after a month.

I have a 3025 with 300 hrs on her. In the fall of 2018 it started losing power intermittently. I talked to my dealer and he indicated he was swamped with auto repairs so I struggled through until about six weeks ago when it completely lost power and would only idle. I managed to get it loaded and out of the wood lot I was working in and took it to the dealer. Again he indicated he was swamped with other work but would try to get it in. Three weeks later I could wait no more, having hand loaded several cords of firewood into my dump trailer, I went in and pushed the issue. A couple days later I stopped in again and he said they had found that the fuel pump wasn’t working.
He indicated that a factory fuel pump would not be available for two weeks and he was going to install an aftermarket fuel pump temporarily and he did successfully.
At the same time it was in the shop they were supposed to do the shim recall on the frame and service the tractor.
He called ansd indicated my tractor was ready and I went to pick it up. When I arrived I was told that there had been a change in the recall and they were now replacing the frame, loader lift arm brackets and other parts but none of these kits were available at the present time. He also forgot to service the tractor.
So my right hand man, the tractor, is now functioning as it did before and hopefully the engine block isn’t damaged by continued use of the loader.
In all honesty, I have been extremely pleased with this tractor and it has functioned flawlessly until the fuel pump expired. I have used and abused this tractor with a home made skidder frame and logging winch on the three point hitch, pulling large drags of 12’ logs both on the skidder frame and on the forks to balance things out. The drags were big enough that I would fill a 12’ dump trailer with 4-5 skids!
This little work horse never missed a beat, used little fuel and always started regardless of temperature! My tractor wears its own battle wounds such as the large dent in the hood from dropping the bucket on it while lifting it with a chain and the forks out of the back of the truck. Bad rigging on my part!
Anyway I have no problem with the tractor provided it doesn’t spend its time parked in the dealers parking lot and not being used on my place!

Thanks for posting this series of videos. In Australia LS tractors are not sold however I think the smaller Case IH tractors are rebadged LS tractors from South Korea.
After watching your videos it looks like government regulations are at fault. From what I understand if an engine puts out more than 25HP of power then filters and pollution monitoring systems are required by regulations to be fitted to the tractor. This is why there are so many small tractors sold with engines outputting 25 or less HP.
In a few years time I may need a tractor on a little farm. I’m hoping by this time battery powered tractors will be on the market so I don’t have to worry about all that nonsense. Of course there will be a bunch of new rubbish with electricity.

Even the American assembled tractors depend on overseas suppliers for the diesel engines, sometime transaxles, and electronic components. Smaller Cummins and Cat engines are made overseas.
As for the higher prices that Green and Orange tractors cost, you get a bit more of it back when you go to sell a well maintained unit. Off brand tractors may not be taken in trade by some dealers.

I was told to avoid LS for a few years , till they learn how to build tractors, and get a better dealer network . Looking to replace my old JD 300 , but it's a good tractor, other than being underpowered , 7000 lb. tractor with a little 135 ci engine

After all the issues you had with the XR3035 I would say let LS keep that one and stick with the XG3025

It seems these tractors are sold up north too. I am in New York and when I shared your first video on FB, I found out a friend of a friend has one. I don’t know what model or if he’s got any issues as he didn’t tag back on the post. But I did just share this one also.

Hello! Just found these videos as we are experiencing the same stalling issues on our LS3037. Did you ever find out what was the problem? The tech suggested that the ECU was faulty and needed to be replaced.

Dealers will only go so far in repairs, even at their own expense, LS sounds to me like they only support the dealers to a certain extent as well. It all comes down to customer service and dealer support. LS is certainly a tractor that appears to have more bang for the buck as compared to traditional common name brands, but if they don’t run what good are they? It’s apparent that the real problem is the emissions controls like any modern truck!or equipment. We all want to be conscious of the environment but this crap they are mandating is overboard; Diesel engines today and fuels are cleaner than they ever have been I would look into a delete system and toss that emissions crap then your tractor will run like it should.

And if you think another color of tractor will make your life blissful, think again. I have JD2025R that only has 35 hours on it and it has no less that 10, count them 10, service calls on it already. After all the crap with it, i decided to write a review of my experience with it on JDs website and they pulled it down. You damn sure wouldn't want perspective customer seeing the truth and reality would you ? That speaks volumes. You can bet they will never get another dime of my money. The reality is that EVERY small ( under 100 hp ) tractor , no matter the color , is made offshore and then shipped in a crate to the USA and assembled from that crate. That includes JD and Kubota. Made in the USA my ass. If you don't believe it, do some research and educate yourself. When you buy a tractor, you are not buying a color, you are buying the dealer network. If LS / Kyoti / Mahindra / ect had big dealer networks, JD and Kubota would be in big trouble.

You cannot ignore computers on Tractors, especially if they are equipped with Emissions for Regeneration. I would take the Dealer giving me my new and improved Loaner (old Trade-m Tractor), as a slap on the face. I would have bought a Trailer and parked that Tractor across the Street from the Dealer with a Banner that said: "Broken" Best of Luck with the Repairs.

As long as they left you a loaner, I think it doesn't matter much. They fixed for themselves, that is sad service.
    You need your cash back.

You usually get what you pay for. If they send you another tractor and it says LS you have yourself another piece of crap tractor and then it'll be a new saga of videos, emails to LS in comments......Cut your losses and to heck with them Danny. Your knowledge of living on a small farm and the experience you share is awesome. This tractor stuff just isn't IMHO.

I see they got you a loaner and from what I understood from the oil leak issue was that they came out with a fix for them towards the middle of the year in 2018 and from what I'm seeing that was after the swap to the XR3135 sorry to hear you've had issues with your current machine. At least hey have gotten you a loaner to use and will get your XR3135 fixed and back to you as soon as they get it fixed.I have learned through the years that it doesn't matter what color it is they all have some issues, I've had excellent service out of the 4 LS tractors that I own and wouldn't blink a eye at buying another tomorrow if I was in the market for a new machine. Best of luck

After seeing two of your bad luck videos, I’m convinced you biggest problem os not LS, it’s the dealer / service dept who can’t see that you really have a bad problem. They just try to get it back to you.
