  • After much research, We decided to go with the Kubota L2501 tractor. This tractor does not have a computer. Simple and Wanda can use it. The King Kutter tiller we had bought works fine with this tractor.

New subscriber here. I have the Kubota L2501 gear drive with the R1 ag tires. Very happy with my little tractor. I just did a video a couple weeks ago where I built a chain saw mount for it and talk about some of the mods that I have done to the tractor.

I used an IH Farmall 140 for years, last year I went with the L2501 2WD no loader, because it was the only tractor with a similar footprint to the 140. I did get the roto tiller, and a quick hitch. then I purchased a Covington one row planter and a County Line one row cultivator. I have been very satisfied. this was an excellent upgrade for me. Problem is, you tend to plant more than you can handle.

My lawn tractor came in orange, An Aries. It was blinding! I hand camoed it with 3 colors and used actual leaves off trees for the shapes. Came out great and I have a unique lawn tractor now. I am so glad you got a different tractor, and as everyone was recommending Kubota, I am sure you will be happy now, and NO computers, hooray! Congrats Danny and Wanda, happy days now, mo more working with worry. God bless! That tiller, holy COW! I'm still using a little Mantis, it's like hanging onto a bucking horse at times, but it gets the job done.

I have a small Kubota and connecting equipment on the smaller tractors can be a beast. I bought a Pat's quick hitch and it has made thing much easier. I don't dread changing equipment anymore.. A little pricey but they are well built and versatile. Congrats on the tractor and tiller.. I hope it serves you well.

Bushrod that's a very very good suggestions for the Pat's quick disconnect he has other implements that may not fit a quick disconnect the Pat's it'll move it out by 4 in and give them more room to work on the PTO shaft

Danny, nice choice in tractors if all goes well I’m buying the exact same tractor next week. One word of advice with the tiller. I know this tractor comes with a dead pto, it stops turning when the clutch is engaged. The Massey Ferguson tractor I have now has a dead pto as well. Engage the pto before sticking the tiller in the ground, get it turning and then put it in the soil. You’ll be in the slowest speed anyway, it’s just crawling so you’ll have time to get it in the ground. When you come to the end of your till, pull it out of the ground and keep the pto engaged let the tiller spin will hoisted. You’ll waste less time this way instead of stopping the tractor to engage/disengage the pto, and I believe it cools the oil in the tiller gear drive spinning under no load for a bit as you turn around. Also when I’m done tilling, I let it spin while hoisted all the way to the shed I keep it under again I believe it cools the gear oil. After all after you use your tractor hard for a bit I’ve always been told to let it idle a few minutes to allow the engine to cool some. Just an observation that will save wear and tear on your tractor and tiller. I hope y’all have a great year!!

You will not regret this. We have had a small kubota tractor and a excavator. Been using both for about 12 years now with no problems. My husband does all his logging with the excavator. He makes all our own lumber. I use the small one in the garden and for snowblowing.

A far better choice than ANOTHER LS. If I was in the market for a compac tractor there are only three I would look at first would be a CASE INTERNATIONAL, two & three would be Kioti & Kubota . I have never owned a oriental tractor.
But I have never heard many complaints about Kubota.

How many hours? This is what wears a tractor out,.... not the time, except hoses. Using a tractor LESS than 250+ hours a year is "super-light-weight, & costing you 65$ plus an hour to use.

You should put rear wheel spacers to get more clearance. It also gives you a more stable footprint. Before a stick pops up and knocks off your fuel bowl, make a guard to protect it! I speak from experience. Good choice on tractor.

Such an inspiration to see a husband and wife working together in their garden and planting, growing, and harvesting their own vegetables! I love seeing you all work together seeing the bounty of what you harvest at the end of your grow season. I grew up on an 83 acre country farm down in Midway, FL and although I live in the city of Tifton, GA now, I still love growing things and have been recently inspired by channels like yours to start my own gardening channel here on UA-cam, (The Green Thumb Gardening Channel) I learn something new, or a better or easier way to things each time I visit your channel, thanks for sharing your knowledge of gardening with us all and a bountiful harvest to you both this year!

I’ve owned three Botas since 2002. I have a B series, an L series and a M series. The pre- emissions units were great tractors. Now all manufacturers are having issues in their smog units. I have no complaints with any of mine. Kubota builds the finest compact Diesel engines on the planet. As long as they are properly serviced and not run hot they’ll last longer than you will.

I have the same l2501 witb r4 tires and all, only difference is mine is hydrostatic. I have to say I love the hydrostatic transmission, I can stop the tractor and back under low hanging limbs with the Bush hog or finish mower and the PTO never stops. It's almost 2.5 years old and getting close to 130 hours, the only issue I've had so far is the cable that runs the tachometer broke and was replaced under warranty. I have been pleasantly surprised at how capable that little tractor is with less than 25hp. Here's to hoping they last a lifetime....

I've had my L2501 close to a year now and love it. I ordered forks that attach to the front bucket, that do fairly well. I have a 6 ft. tiller too, of course it's orange, just funning. I know you and Wanda will enjoy it. Be carefully, and happy gardening.

Get a quick hitch for the three point ,makes hooking up impliments alot simpler and easier on the body. Nice little tractor.

I know it's older video but we are getting our first tractor in a few days. Exciting to see the effectiveness and ease of use. My Yvonne is excited to learn to use it too!

Good luck with your new tractor Danny. It'll serve you well. I had an older kubota, L 2650. It was 30 years old when I traded it in on a J.d.3025e. Their a good product. I like it.

We love our smaller Kubota! We have had it for 16 years wore out the bottom edge of the bucket and had a guy weld an angle iron over it and replace hoses. I wish if we had it to do over, we would have gotten the backhoe. They don't make a backhoe for our size BM2200 (I think that is the one) and we have talked about trading up to get the backhoe, trust me, I would have him digging holes everywhere to plant things and digging up stuff! 😂 But that bucket will sure do some good things too.
