Hey, I have been recovering from trauma recently, I already understood a lot about how my body works and how and why I felt the way I did but I couldn't escape. Thanks for doing this video, I have long understood this and related to myself in this way, it makes me feel more present and have less anxiety. Anyone who is confused on why they hold on to that stuff well, you are a being and your brain works in a very animalistic way. Try reading, The Body Keeps A Score. It was too relatable for me. My dad was very verbally abusive for a long time and I couldn't get away from him, so I would get submissive and I would just shut down and get quiet. I could defend myself for a while but I just got so exhausted and couldn't avert my mind any . more. I went to therapy but I knew what my mind needed. If you think of it. The trauma needs to be worked out of my system. I know what I need, but I cant fight. I have to scream and cry to get the tention out of my body and feel like I reset. I have a dissociative disorder because I feel like a completely different human, like my hands don't work the way they used to. Read this book its cool, but for me it was just like "Yeah, I know....that is how I feel, I don't want to read about what I do and feel already"
How do I practice thought rehearsal while still managing my expectations (to protect myself from disappointment)... or is that just me preparing to be disappointed?! Help MAMA!!!!

Thank you. I’m 5 weeks pregnant and I’m 36 years old. However, 7 years ago I had a miscarriage and even though I have a healthy 9 year old I keep thinking of the worries of my past and of my age but I need to stop! I eat healthy, I work out, and I take my vitamins. Why do I worry?! I keep telling myself I’m young, healthy, and happy. No more unhealthy thoughts! Positive vibes and I’m going to start meditating. Positive thoughts from now on! I will have a healthy pregnancy and I will have a healthy baby!
this video was the the missing piece to my spiritual journey. My anxiety has plagued me for years and stopped so many blessing in my life. It caused my depression. Thought rehearsal sound like an excellent way to lower the volume on those negative thoughts and experiences.
I may've done that unintentionally yesterday before cooking for Thanksgiving. I meditated and had a conversation with myself before starting on dinner. My mom was like, "You too happy today." Like it's a problem to be Happy lol. It was a great day and it felt like I opened myself up to receive and make it a great day. Now that I know what to call it I can practice it more often.
11:20 thought rehearsal starts - rehearse in my mind what I want to achieve. Fear and anxiety comes from doing an activity one is not prepared for. The not being prepared for shows up as the body putting a stop to threatening fear and anxiety producing activities. Example cited was eating mcdonald's food 3 meals per day for 6 months then making a big salad at home and setting down to eat it. The body which is the unconscious mind roars to a stop. The way to counteract this pre-emptively is to rehearse eating salads and eating healthy food for a period of time before doing it.
I’ve been struggling a lot from starting my spiritual journey and feeling like my life was finally where I wanted it to go to something in me just STOPPING and feeling completely stagnant and back into even darker thoughts then I have ever had. I have been watching your videos more and more and that inspiration and feeling of wanting to do better is slowly coming back. Thank you.
“Don’t rehearse is going negative!” 😂 this is something my nervous ass would do tbh. Could you make a video on letting go of emotional and/or traumatic experiences? I have a habit of thinking back to certain circumstances from time to time, and I’m trying to view them from a positive light, see the purpose of their occurrence, etc., but I was curious if you had advice for this 🤷🏻♀️
Alexis Salada all of it is a self control thing. If you want better you will stop and get better. When people say “have enough respect for yourself “ I use to get offended cause I love myself a lot but when I understood how I was being loved and how I needed to be loved wasn’t matching I had to “love myself enough” to just stop dealing with people bullshit girl cause if you can dream it, it’s real. If I feel like it’s better out there!! It’s better out there . Idk your situation but that was mine and that’s what I did. Was it easy no😂 took months but I eventually got it.
Great video! What helped me in my meditation practice is building up to 25 minutes a session. I started with 5 minutes then added 5 every week but also being constantly mindful and in the moment throughout my day. This calms the mind. Not thinking about yesterday or tomorrow or even later in the day really helped me! My meditation became easier.

I stumbled across Dr. Joe a few days ago.. about a week ago my life did a 180( fiancé left me/we are taking a big break because he wanted me to be happy with my self, love my self first, have my own goals and needs) when randomly his videos showed up on my feed.. I watched them and WOW. Within 3 days of watching his videos (and another great man named Dandapani) my thought process has completely flipped. I am on this journey of self discovery. Mama, this is so true. We keep forgetting that our minds are computers and filled with thoughts. It's so important to push forward and meditate on what we want vs what we don't want. Every day I start with my affirmations and programming and it becomes my nature.

Now i know to flip it. I can say I have also unintentionally practiced this prior to working to help become less anxious for the unknown of work. I do thought rehearsal all the time, sometimes to the point where people might think i'm really crazy cuz i will think it through in detail, the conversations, the back and forths, what i'll wear, how i'll look when things happen that i want. My struggle however is meditation. When I sit and try to be calm, my anxiety disorder kicks in and it just feels like i'm battling negative thoughts the entire time
I’ve watched this video 3 times, and I’ve taken notes in my journal. It is true. I remember rehearsing actions of a big game I was in, and my STATS were amazing! This is a sign to get back to that space.

The Golden Latte is my favorite! Yum so good, it gives lift if you are sensitive to coffee- it's a great replacement and it has a strengthening aspect that coffee doesn't have, it's the mushrooms. And they brew really fast just add hot water. OMG I'd love to have them sponser my channel too! ALSO RE; meditation I teach meditation having studied it for decades including with Burmese monks- here in U.S. It is so rewarding right away but it can be challenging for sure- the main thing is to not judge ourselves when meditating- so it's working but we cannot judge ourselves for difficulties or runaway thoughts. Now here I am after 4 yrs in the Army being blessed with the right people to help me get my disability I’m that “Sunny delight mom.” I’m not done manifesting yet but it’s real if you do the work, trust and have faith, you’ll get your hearts desire. “Faith without works is dead.” 🙏🏾🔥♈️✨

I find myself spinning situations over and over from all angles, but I was told my thought rehearsal is a form of anxiety? And that creating expectations is just setting myself up disappointment because things wont play out how I imagined, so I should let things happen in real time. So im confused as which path to take.

It’s like when u have social anxiety.. think of the worse case scenario already happened. It really helps

I find myself spinning situations over and over from all angles, but I was told my thought rehearsal is a form of anxiety? And that creating expectations is just setting myself up disappointment because things wont play out how I imagined, so I should let things happen in real time. So im confused as which path to take.
