The score is absolutely breathtaking. It is such an underrated film and adaptation of the book. For me It captures Grenouille brilliantly, even If Ben Wishaw is too good looking for the role.
Seeing this in 4k Bluray HDR on an OLED TV with a good sound system hits a lot different. Truly magnificent filmaking on display, I can feel his emotion, I can smell what he smell even through the screen, truly phenomenal!

The soundtrack alone is sublime and the story telling and acting throughout this film was exquisite. This movie is one of the mean reasons I named my daughter Laura.

It all makes sense now, I visited Paris 10 years ago and in the Grand city of love some streets smelled of sewerage. Ive always appreciated a quality perfume and now understand why capturing and formulating pleasant fragrances where so important to Parisians. Also intrigued that people did not trust him for his lack of scent. Instinctive behaviour, animals rely on their sense of smell as a from of intuition…so deep, so much food for thought! 🌹
