Sideways, the Decepticon who is well known for making Sideswipe even more epic! A cool feature to this figure would’ve been if he could spit in half like he did in the movie!😁 Well jokes aside he looks like a really great SS figure, a must have in my collection.
I mean, people al already tired of a certain Ukrainian drama queen for obvious reasons.

I loved this figure. While smaller than the old one, the window "wings" actually look sturdier, the biggest issue the old Sideways had was how fragile those were
I own the old one, and the wings are certainly an improvement! Though, the small tab on one of SS 88's wings did break on mine.
Yeah my wings pop off alot in the old one.
Ive heard people saying their only qc issue with this figure is ironically the foot. While its better than the original one its still isn't much unless its on a certain pose
I had a lot of fun discovering you can slide his torso off by pushing his torso backwards and pulling the bottom waist swivel. *Something Studio Series Jazz should have had.*

Always adored his design and played him all the time in the ROFT game, however his arms are slightly too big. Far better than the original, but I'll definitely be buying this
He honestly is a copy of barricade like the long arms and skinny legs but yes he does look way better

This one also has clear plastic and you can just tighten those loose bits with superglue or something on the old one.

Translucent windows nothin else the old one had translucent doors and more already head of breakage on those
This figure has grown on me a lot. The alt mode still kinda looks like a hot-hatch imo, but the robot mode is much better than I originally thought.

@@dustinlackey4250 it was supposed to be, but they couldn't get the license for it so they changed the design and proportions. The back was made a lot stubbier, which is why it looks like a hatchback imo.
@@laughingbulbasaur3291 I see what you're saying. The front totally has the r8 feel. Then you flip it around and its CHONKY. I kind of like the look.

It’s so awesome that he comes with his gun from the PS2 game! Hopefully it means more game characters potentially in the future (I know Breakaway is also rumored).
If they are also adding the movie game video game characters in this line up, I hope they will add those vehicle drones from the first game, Warpath, Soundwave as a Mercedes SUV, Megatron in his Mack truck minus the trailer and Stratosphere.
This isnt an isolated incident, im pretty sure they've used the mirage vehicle mode from DOTM The Game for studio series mirage

While I agree that this figure is better than the original 2009 figure, I have some proportional issues with the figure. I played the ROTF Wii game and I can tell you straight away that Sideways' legs were not that thin, his arms weren't that long and his upper body was not that wide. Definitely not complaining, I think the figure looks great, but I wish the proportions were a little better. Definitely gonna pick this guy up when I get the chance
I feel like the shoulders can be lowered and biceps brought closer to his torso to make him just a bit more accurate and shrink the size of his arms. Almost everyone except the first leaked pic situate the shoulders really high
The shoulders do lock into place for robot mode & that’s how they look if you do lock them
@@PrimeVsPrime In any case I wonder when this figure's gonna release in the US. As for video game references, Sideways' Audi R8 in the game is fully licensed, which is strange that they couldn't do the same for the figures
This figure looks amazing! I was going to get this figure regardless because I have been waiting for a Sideways figure for so long. I saw the Chefatron video and some images, and I was disappointed in the figure because of the back kibble. I’m so glad to find that it was just mis-transformed and his back actually looks pretty decent. His car mode also doesn’t look bad at all. It’s a shame they couldn’t get the Audi license to make it an R8, but it still looks good. Super excited to get this figure when it comes out in the US!

Excited to see King Samlock’s screen to toy overview of the figure since it’ll more than likely include the first ever reveal of Sideways’ official ILM render.
Also they definitely need to retool this into Skids and Mudflap figures. The small legs, huge arm, and car backpack are perfect engineering bits for those two. Not sure how they’d get one arm to be smaller but we’ve all seen crazier stuff get accomplished.

Quite enjoyed him in the game and it’s a shame he didn’t talk in the movie.
The figure looks 100% better than the pics online! Definitely going to have to add him to my collection.
Speaking of obscure characters what I would love to see in the Studio Series line would be the Junkheap drones. They could actually really work if they are sold as an exclusive 3 pack. One being a deluxe (yellow) and the other two being voyagers (white & green). They could make the green one a leader but I think if they just have the green be a bit taller looking it’ll at least give the illusion enough.

This figure looks amazing. The vehicle mode, however, is a little mediocre. It's weird that Hasbro was able to make the original deluxe transform into an almost-Audi-type vehicle back in 2009 (It was actually so good that, up until 2015 or so, I legit thought it was the Audi R8) but they couldn't accomplish that again with this figure.
they did not have the Audi license for this line..

Yeah, the original release did the Audi mode very well, this looks like a Honda hatchback or like it backed into a building full speed!

Notice how complex this deluxe is with how it looks at the start of a transformation, glad that Hasbro is learning their lesson

I actually remember really liking the original Deluxe as a toy,(Sold it years ago.) but in terms of design accuracy, this one certainly pulls it off way better with the robot-mode.
Seeing up close like this. it's even BETTER than I thought!! Awesome sculpt and overall figure!
Well-deserved upgrade from his original RoTF figure releases. This one genuinely captures his frame and makes the Audi R8 form feel a lot more completed and whole. This guy was my favorite design from all of Bayformers, I basically saw him as a more suave Barricade, who was already badass despite him being a bunch of metal. Only thing I’m let down by on the figure is his back “plumage” that he’s meant to have, as I fear that was out of the way of the designer’s course.

Here’s the thing: the unlicensed vehicle mode makes this able to be generations-selected into all the repaints I KNOW we want
The figure overall, looks amazing, and i will buy it but I have to nitpick one thing-
I hope they release a variant of this figure, in the colors of the original 2009 toy.
That Silver, Black, and bright red (with the pink-like colors for the windows), personally, makes that figure pop, in contrast to the silver and dark grey the new figure has.
And maybe, since they are delving into the games, give us his Rifle weapon?
They could definitely do that! I do hope we can see more SS repaints in future!
Sideways was my favorite con to play as in ROTF (360) good snark, fun moves, cool guns, and a very fun Alt mode!
Sideways made me like Audi’s and while the film did nothing for him, I severely enjoyed my game time with him. I don’t collect the SS much but I’ll have to grab him as a tribute and for good memories

And the bad part is I have been anticipating this figure just for them to basically ramold vehicle parts onto barricade with a new face
This guy looks pretty cool. They definitely got inspiration from barricade making this guy. Also can't wait for that DOTM Bumblebee he looks good too. I remember seeing that brand new figure when ss released the ROTF Bumblebee and it just look so good, I don't bother them re-tooling it for the DOTM version, the mold is amazing, imagine it with a totally decked out paint job

Id love to see this retooled into Barricade (yes i know he already has a SS figure but the proportions on this guy would be perfect for a Barricade retool)
As long as they change the mode to the Saleen Mustang
I noticed that the hands for sideways are basically mpm barricades and that made me realize the ss Bari is a bit inaccurate

@@tylervanpeursem7627 look at mpm barricade a small bit....it has the arms, but sideways did it COMPLETELY BETTER with no effort. Hope a retool for barricade does happen, but we shall see.

Wish he was at least a coupe and not a hot-hatch and came with his Sniper Rifle from the ROTF Game but still looks worth getting

He looks very nice, can't wait to buy him. The car mode is like a hatchback styled Audi R8. Hopefully we get more Bayverse videogame inspired characters in SS too.

Yeah, I'm torn on loving the Original's vehicle mode and the SS Robot mode.
You know what? I had no interest in this guy back in 2009 (when I was 8). My original Sideways’ limbs are scattered across my old toy bins somewhere. Never really liked him. But now that this guy is revealed, I’m totally digging it and picking him up. I just hate how they did the Audi R8.
Edit: if you were careful enough, you could probably carve out your own slots so the ball joint can be an ankle tilt.

Never got the deluxe version but I did get the legion class version (which is surprisingly not broken) but obviously that doesn't scale with the studio series sideswipe so I'm definitely getting this

He looks awesome! I love designs that have oversized arms. I will say I wish there weren't so many silver Studio Series figures. I feel like that paint won't last too long. 😅

Fr tho, I wasn't expecting a video review so soon; I too am disappointed with how anticlimactic his end was (Armada!Sideways being one of my favorite Transformers), moreso with how the video games gave him more characterization.
Speaking of which, I absolutely ADORE that gun, especially knowing it comes from the video games! I'm also enthused the vehicle mode has the actual black that all other Sideways toys lack, and think the car resembles the audi more closely than Dinos did an Italia.
As for his robot mode, I'm VERY relieved about the back kibble, tho admittedly I've some reservations about the arms being ball jointed. I don't mind the height tho, cos it ties with his bio about hiding behind larger decepticons.
Again, I'm VERY ecstatic Studio Series has provided us Sideways!

The original rotf version had several issues mainly with clear plastic in the windows, after a few years they snapped off as well as the tabs on the lower legs that connects to the doors, this is a major improvement.
I recently got Dead End (remold of Sideways, just decked out in black/red and purple tinted windows with a new head) and I can't wait to see how these two look together!
The dead end repaint looks awesome! Hopefully we can see that deco in SS!
I recently learned that on the rotf toy you can file down the pointed tab on the spine to allow the roof panels to fold up higher and closer to the body, the strut even has grooves for the wheels in the torso so I'm sure it's intentional, just been lost to time like animated shockwave's ab crunch,
Also the old official images for sideways and dead end make me upset, almost none of them have the torso altered at all, Christ sake guys the ball joint and hinge combo on the front fenders let's you pull them outwards and turn them almost vertical, and those little triangular flaps on the collar exist exclusively to be flipped up
Just got mine a few weeks ago and I love it! I’m not sure if this is intended but I found that in car mode you can attach the cannon to either of the front wheels using the slit in the middle of the wheel. Looks kinda out of place from the side it’s on, but from the other side it looks sweet!

Pretty cool! I had the original I think, I loved it, I always thought Sideways was awesome lol, his vehicle mode in this version looks pretty good, but the rear looks so chunky, I guess because of all the stuff that goes there? Makes it look like one of those kit car bodies that gets put over top a Toyota MR2 chassis, the front has a lot of Zenvo ST1 in it, which is cool
Not that I think it's likely to happen in any capacity, but I'd love to see a repaint/remold of this fella as ROTF deluxe dead end, always enjoyed his little appearance as a vampire-type in the comics
Sideways looks exactly like barricade but in a different form. You see familiar to his head and shoulders
I finally got my copy of sideways today and holy cow the wait was worth it!! He's so amazing looking and I'm glad hasbro got him right. Yeah the car mode isn't accurate but it's still awsome. The gun was a nice addition from the ps2/wii version of the game. Thank you hasbro!! Here's hoping DNA makes his chain whip or his saw blade weapons
As a kid, when I saw rotf the first time in theaters, he immediately became my favourite new addition to the bayverse, and I got his legends class figure. Now, as an adult, I finally get a more accurate and perfectly scaled figure! All I wish now, is for Hasbro and takara to revive the legends class bayverse line.... (Under the core class name)
I left a comment on an older ss review detailing how badly i wanted this figure to be made. And now that its here, i am beyond satisfied. This is a definite pre-order for me 🤤

Back in 2008, Sideways was my favorite character to play in Revenge of the Fallen video game for ps2, I hope this figure arrives here in Brazil soon!
My only complain in that I wish he had two guns to put on each arm, to simulate his special in the game XD
I’m definitely gonna get two to repaint one into the purple rotf legends class one we got back in the day (override? I think) and they have grippy hands so I can give the other one whatever I want for weapons

Looks pretty cool. Kind of looks like a blend of Sideswipe and Barricade. I decided to take a break from collecting with the recent price hike, but I am tempted to make an exception for this one.

Ya definitley changed my Mind on him, when i first saw him in the Leaks i was really Disappointed.
But seeing this made all that go away, gonna Pick him up when i can, really liked him in the Games^^
His Alt Mode is definitley the weakest Part but that Bot Mode is really awesome!

Studio series have finally answered our prayers!
I think what would have been cool was that he came with another car which is about his size in car mode and have the split gimmick!
I hope the upgrade kit improves the vehicle mode.
Also if you turn the head of the figure, he has those sculpted pupils that make it appear as if his eyes are always following you.
Can't wait for you to do a review on that Studio Series Galvatron.

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A REMAKE OF THIS CHARACTER FOR YEARS. AND THEY FINALLY DID IT. LETS GOOO
In the Shanghai scene sideways leaps through the building when pursued by the trio before he converts in his R8 transformation and split in half.
I like that he had a similar body style as Barricade, just slightly more broader and his face is a little wider.
Still would hope they make a studio series breakaway because that jet mode was very sweet a d been considering painting it into USAF or USN markings so cleverly display it on an aircraft carrier like diorama
I had Deluxe Breakaway and he was one of my favorite figures. His robot mode was very accurate to what he looks like in the video game. Plus his jet mode was pretty cool.
@@thefoxygamer1536 for a deluxe and being based on the f-35 and a bayformers, it qas a very clean jet, and i even day the viyager starscream was amazing in it's time too, specially that the 2007 was the priginal basis, now i wanna get breakaway and repaint him in usn or usaf markings and decals

The only reason I think we wont get the first version of the twins is bc the original figure was really spot on and a reprolables was already made to fix the lack of stickers on it. I do wanna see the the v2 of them tho, really small and fun

Id like to see a repaint/heavy remold for a barricade. The original was okay, but this would look amazing for barricade. They could call it the dark of the moon barricade.
So I recently bought Sideways off Amazon and he is the most beautiful figure I’ve ever had on my shelf however his transformation frightens me every time I move his hands I feel like I’m gonna break them and worst part is they’re held by pins which makes it scarier
the robot mode is awesome looking, the car mode is awesome looking and the transformation is also cool. a pretty decent figure
Yeah, looking at Google image of the 2009 R8, I can safely say that the original deluxe figure has the more "accurate" design. But I am liking the SS compromise. The back reminds me of a Honda Civic, which I like those designs.
Is the new wave already hitting stores yet, or is it just pre-orders for now?

Huh, in the 360 game he just had a sniper and a small gatling gun not a three barreled gun but it is pretty cool weapon with a lot of detail

Wow. This actually looks amazing! I wasn’t so sure and was very weary of whether I was gonna get this guy. But the images I have seen do not do this guy Justice. He actually looks really good and some cool engineering.
Luckily I decided to be patient instead of looking at leaked photos.
